Description from owner

In order to read reviews of this stunning home, please inquire with owner to be directed to the site.

This Classic lofty hillside residence with 4 Master Bedrooms & 4.5 baths was entirely renovated and redesigned in 2014 for Architectural Digest AD 100 architect John Ike for his own personal San Diego home.

Luckily there is a telescope in the residence so that you can enjoy the spectacular panoramic views that stretch from Cabrillo Point and the Pacific Ocean, to the 10,000 foot high Pacific Coast Range east of downtown San Diego.

The never ending parade of ships and sailboats in San Diego Bay below would be enough to keep you occupied during your entire stay!

It's also one of those homes that you really have to see in order to appreciate the excellent design and intriguing detailed craftsmanship that has been created for your comfort and viewing pleasure.

Each of the Master Bedrooms (two on each level) have spectacular views and are decorated with vintage mid- century furniture and custom made beds, each with its own bath, and all but one affording access to the outdoors. The house sleeps 8 luxuriously and additional 3 comfortably.

The custom kitchen paneled entirely in Hemlock with cork floors and ceilings, features a vintage Chambers Range and Oven, Subzero refrigerator, Convection Oven Microwave, and opens to an outdoor dining terrace with a built in charcoal Weber plus a separate gas grill.

An upstairs lofty shingled great room with 13' ceilings and a wall of sliding glass panels features a living area, fireplace, dining area and a chic stand up bar and vintage McIntosh Stereo. Vintage mid-century furniture, art and textiles lend an air of casual elegance to this room you just don't want to leave.

A lower level additional sitting room with floor to ceiling glass and ultra HD 4K TV provides and alternative place to hang out.

So pack your bags and get ready to enjoy- two expansive decks, two additional patio areas, two living areas, 2 fireplaces, private jacuzzi, private terraced area amongst the orange and lemon and olive trees, eat in kitchen, dining area, office space with WIFi and printer, washer dryer, dishwasher, telescope, wet bar and 6 HD TV's.

Driveway and street parking, quiet residential neighborhood.

After a fun and sun filled San Diego day make sure you make time for a relaxing hot tub jacuzzi. Then just stretch out with your family on the outdoor, comfortable lounge chair furniture, while you gaze upon the gorgeous sunsets.

We know that this will be a Vacation Home you will always remember, and we look forward to hosting your group. Call now for a reservation and be sure to ask for special offers.

Thank you.

“MCRD Graduation trip”

Reviewed 14 Oct 2016

What an awesome place! We rented the Point Loma home for our sons Marine graduation. Brought grandparents and adult siblings to participate in this special occasion!! The home was prefect for our stay. From the layout of bedrooms and baths to it's comfortable feel. It's mid century design is fun and unique. We spent most of our time on the decks, from the mornings to the late evenings, always beautiful and relaxing. I know I already want to visit again and bring some friends!!

Owner's reply: Pamela, It was our pleasure to host your lovely family for such an important occasion. We would love to have you all back again. Best to you all. Susan and Bruce

“A MUST!!”

Reviewed 12 Mar 2015

I cannot begin to describe how incredible this house is. I stayed for a business trip, which ended up feeling more like a VERY productive vacation than a stressful week of meetings. When I wasn't in meetings, I was admiring the amazing view from the deck. I woke up every morning drinking coffee on the deck and watching the sun rise over the mountains and all of San Diego, and I was most productive while sitting on the couch in front of the outdoor fire place on the deck. Aside from the incredible outdoor experience of the house, inside is just as noteworthy. The level of detail and craftsmanship is unparalleled, while also being comfortable and inviting. Each day I found myself admiring a new and unique feature I hadn't noticed before. I absolutely did not stay long enough, and would truly consider not only renting again, but moving my entire business to this location :) I highly recommend Plum St! Oh, and you can't beat the team behind the scenes either!

Owner's reply: Thank you so much for your kind review. We are so pleased that you enjoyed the house. We offer discounts to repeat travelers so be sure to plan your next trip soon! Susan and Bruce
