“Traveling with small children? This is the place!”

Reviewed 25 Sep 2015

My husband and I had a fabulous stay here with our 3 and 4 year old boys! I can not begin to tell you how wonderful it was having a house - with a full kitchen, washer and dryer, and an ocean front balcony to relax on after the kids went to bed. Trader Joes is within walking distance so we picked up groceries and wine for the week. When we felt like breakfast or dinner out, there were so many cute restaurants within a 10-15 minute walk. The path right outside your front door is awesome for running and leads all the way from the bay to the ocean and you can run fairly far up the coast (uphill) ;) The house is older, but in good condition and has a fully stocked kitchen with all the tools you would imagine - including a blender for my protein shakes. The washer is older and a little sketchy - dont wash anything you truly love in it. Luckily we just used it for the kiddos clothes and lost a couple t-shirts. There is a grill and a fire pit which we absolutely loved. Within about 30 feet of the front door, there is an awesome playground that they boys loved playing on and honestly was a life saver. Patty was so wonderful to work with and extremely flexible with our arrival times and departure times based on our flights. We are officially done with hotels and will definitely be back for another family vacation!!

Owner's reply: Guests like these keep me wanting to continue working! Always such pleasure, and FYI, we're replacing the older washer/dryer with a new stack unit next week! So don't worry about your clothes next time you visit....which I hope will be soon! Thanks for your kind remarks! Cheers, Patti

“Great vacation space for families”

Great location, great space for families of children...lots of activities nearby by foot or by car. Loved the vacation. The condo is great, has all the amenities one need - it was truly home away home, with the bonus of the waterfront! The one thing one cannot control was the neighbors, a few were super nice people or into their own activities, but others were a bit rude, or uncomfortable to be around. Nebertheless, that did not spoil our great vacation, on a great location.

Owner's reply: So appreciative of the Linder's kind remarks...lovely family and hope they return again! Sorry to hear of the not-so-nice-neighbor...seems there's one in every crowd, and the HOA will certainly hear about it. Overall it's a family oriented, small 10-unit complex and this spot has the best views...the children's park is just a few steps away and is guaranteed to wear out your little ones...good nap time! Thanks Linder Family!

“Great family stay!”

We just came back from our spring break vacation. My husband and I took our two kids (5 and 7 yo) and our aupair to California and spent whole week there. It was great! House is nice and enough space for all of us. Master bedroom on the third floor is spacious, kids room on second floor with two beds and lots of toys, our aupair had a private huge room with private bath downstairs. We all loved it! It is clean, easy access to everything, spacious, beautiful family room with big tv screen and super comfy couch. Two cute little balconies. We truly felt comfortable and happy staying in this house. The only reason I am not giving 5 is cause of the busy street that we needed to cross to access the big beach. It's probably not a big deal for adults or older children, but since our kids are very young each morning going to the beach we had to walk by/cross that scary-busy street. There was another small sandy beach that is great for children (no waves) and to access it you don't need to cross street; but for us it was our surfing vacation, so we only cared for beach with waves and we end up crossing street every day  Regardless of the street, I totally recommend staying on this property and will be planning our next surfing trip soon with a hope to stay in same beautiful house. THANK YOU!

Our stay at the LaPalm vacation property was like our home away from home. We loved the views and the comforts of the unit. The wrap around view from the master bedroom was wonderful. We loved the decor, cleanliness and all the attention to details. Parking was great and we were pleasantly surprised at having the cruiser bikes at our disposal, it was a great way to explore the bay and Pacific Beach. We found great restaurants, coffee shops, the drug store and even the grocery store, all easy to get to by bicycle. The action on the bay and the boardwalk was fun to watch, very relaxing to watch the sailboats, joggers, skateboarder and waterskiiers daily. All in all we had a wonderful vacation staying at the LaPalma vacation home and we can't wait to come back. Special thanks to Patti Sears for making all the arrangements so easy and stressless!

“Relaxing stay on the bay!”

We just stayed here for 4 nights with our 8 and 10 year old boys. It was the perfect location for our family and so comfortable. We felt right at home and the boys were safe to go out front and skate and fish (fishing pole provided!). Wonderful location for getting to various points of interest in San Diego and parking, even in the Mission Beach area, was never a problem. Initially I wondered if we'd regret not being on the ocean, but the bay ended up being a much better choice. More quiet and with gentler breezes. We will definitely contact Patti again the next time our travels take us to San Diego! The boys didn't want to leave!!
