When you come to the flat from a day exploring the beaches, parks, and charming districts of San Diego, you step into an adult playground all your own. Use the gas BBQ and outdoor dining table while you enjoy the lush landscapes, raised bed gardens, bamboo fences and curving hard-scapes around you. Dine on the patio as you watch the sun set over downtown San Diego's skyline. Look down into the garden for a more secluded, peaceful view.
The kitchen offers everything you need with fully stocked cookware, new stainless steel appliances, BBQ tools, dish and glassware, silverware, a full set of chef’s cookware, graters, strainers, steamers and much more. The television and iPod doc are both there to entertain you while you whip up culinary creations as well.
The living space offers a flat screen and DVD player, Wifi board games and books to help you unwind and let your mind play.
Use it as a work, sleep or play space. It has a custom built Murphy bed with luxurious bedding to lounge on in the evening. During the day, the Murphy bed tucks away and a rolling designer cushioned bench pushes against it to serve as a sitting area. Custom designed and built floating shelves hold the Blu-ray player and IHome speaker/charger/alarm clock. Lounge and read a book or catch up on emails under the reading lamp in a designer nail rimmed sitting chair.
The bathroom has been completely remodeled with shower and fixtures. All linens, toilet paper and paper towels included.
Use the two person dining table at meals, and convert it to a work-desk when you need to. When the weather is nice (95% of the time in San Diego!) enjoy the outdoor sitting table and BBQ.
The studio has black out blinds, double paned windows that shut out the city sounds, high ceilings, hardwood floors, a ceiling fan, heater, and all new cabinetry, tile, and fixtures. We love staying here, and hope you will too!
The studio also has soundproofed double doors that can be opened up to a neighboring rental. If you're interested in a larger space, or in vacationing with another couple or with kids, this a great way to share lodging with the option of privacy. Please let us know if you're interested in a double studio stay!
To the south, it is just minutes to the Convention Center, Gas Lamp District, and Petco Park. To the north, visitors can get lost in the architecture along Banker’s Hill and in Hillcrest daytime boutiques and buzzing nightlife.
Stroll to the nearby waterfront, visit Sea World, San Diego Marina District, Seaport Village, Horton plaza, Symphony Hall, the Embarcadero, and of course, the famous San Diego zoo. These are all accessible by bus, car, trolley, or on foot.

Great urban escape
October 15, 2014
Truly a great hidden gem in the urban shadows of downtown San Diego. Conveniently located between Balboa Park, Little Italy and the Gaslamp District, this studio offers all the conveniences along with a great little patio to soak up the sun and the skyline views. The unit was very clean and is exactly as advertised. Parking is a bit tricky since there are no dedicated spots for the complex but with a little patience that too isn't an issue. This was our first VRBO experience (VHR) and we're confident that it won't be our last.

This Past weekend my boyfriend and I decided to stay at Urbana to enjoy a little "staycation" in our home city. We were looking for a place that was centrally located to everything we wanted to do and this was perfect. It is located in a cozy tucked away section of Downtown/Little Italy right in the heart of all the action. Our experience was instantly started on the right foot when we met Marie. She had so much passion and enthusiasm. She answered all of our questions and was extremely welcoming. It was evident that she treated this place with the same attention to detail that one would put into their own home. To start the place was GORGEOUS! Your can instantly tell that a lot of love and care had gone into renovating this building and making it feel like a home away from home. Almost like a little Oasis in the midst of the city. The building had beautiful landscaping all around and even little garden planters in the back for tenants to use. There was a BBQ that we used on our second night right outside our room! Inside everything was immaculate and well put together. A beautiful color scheme coupled with a tasteful mix of artwork and an innovative custom made Murphy bed! It was so cool! The appliances were all state of the art as were the furnishings. During our stay we were able to enjoy all of the adventures that San Diego has to offer which we don't normally have a chance to take in. While using Urbana as our "home" we were able to have fabulous dining experiences in downtown, Little Italy and Hillcrest. Friday night we headed down to Seaport Village, and then the Gaslamp District. We walked over to the Farmer's Market on Saturday morning in Little Italy, then took in a Baseball game at Petco Park and even made it over to the Zoo on Sunday. Urbana was so convenient because it really was easy to get to and from all of our destinations. The next time we can, we will absolutely be back for more!!!! Thanks for a wonderful experience!

My husband and I recently stayed at the studio for 3 nights. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Very clean and well decorated. We rented a car and had no issues finding parking around the area. The apt is located in a quiet neighborhood, a short walk from Little Italy. Kitchen is fully stocked with cooking utensils, silverware, plates, etc. Cute little table and chair set on terrace. Would definitely stay here again!

We stayed for 4 nights and found Urbana Studio very cozy and absolutely lovely! It was very clean and offered wonderful conveniences. We found that Little Italy restaurant area and Gaslamp area were both within walking distance and easily found. The I5 is so close that it is easy to get right on the freeway to the beaches and sea world. We drove into San Diego and was able to find parking as long as we looked and was patient - right up the hill on 2nd avenue even on weekends there always seemed to be parking and was a short walk. I loved that our studio also had a AC unit. Although San Diego weather is wonderful most of the time and opening windows does provide you with cool air I prefer having AC as an option. If you are looking for a cozy place to stay that is super clean this is your place.

I cannot say enough about this darling studio! From the time I entered the front gate, I felt like I was in a secluded paradise right in the middle of the city. I loved everything about my stay here... Clean, cute, new, everything was wonderful. I loved the bed. It was so comfortable. I loved the kitchen. It has everything you could want for food preparation. We were 10 minutes from everything, Coronado, several beaches, shopping malls. Even better, we were in walking distance of Little Italy, which was the most charming area. On Saturday, we walked to the farmers market and spent the morning there and it was wonderful. I loved having the washer and dryer as well. The owners thought of everything. I called and texted then several times with questions and Maria and Max were quick to respond and patient with me. The air conditioner works so well and was so refreshing after a hot day at the beach. The TV is big and the owners pay for Netflix and other movie channels, and that was fun. The sheets and pillows were SO COMFORTABLE. I'm not kidding. My only suggestion would be to work out some parking. We got 2 parking tickets and that was sad (and not the owner's fault), but there is an empty lot next door that would be nice to park in.
