“Beautiful Home, Great Stay”

Reviewed 13 Aug 2016

When we arrived at the house after full day at the Outsidelands festival, we were tired and needed to relax. We walked up the stairs not knowing what to expect. The pictures gave us an idea, but we have been fooled before. Well let me say the pictures dont do justice for this beautiful home. The home was much bigger that we thought. Plenty of room for the 8 of us to find out our place to relax. The kitchen was an excellent size with everything we need to make a home cooked meal. The back door in the kitchen gave an excellen view of the ocean. The formal dining room was perfect. The living room had plenty of space to lounge. The large bay windows gave plenty of light. The 3 bedrooms were an excellent size. Plenty of room to store our luggage. The restroom is a good size. The toilet has a water saving flush, which I appreciated. My only wish is that the house had a second toilet. However the 8 of us made it work. The downstairs neighbor is super cool and chill. He said he wanted us to have a good stay and asked that if needed anything to let him know. Thank you Angeline for sharing your home with us. I think we might find ourselves back there again for a longer stay.

“Great Location!”

We really enjoyed our stay at this beach house. Host was quick to respond. Loved being right across the street from the ocean! Comfortable home. Easy parking. House needs a bit of TLC but easily overlooked considering location.

“Wonderful San Fran place to stay”

Reviewed 24 Jun 2015

Jacob was great to deal with. We stayed in this unit with 4 adults and 3 kids and loved the ample space this provided. The kids loved getting to see the ocean from the kitchen table. We had the city pass which provided free use of the muni and the L train is only 2 blocks away which was a great way to get to everything we wanted to do.

Owner's reply: I am very pleased that Elizabeth and her family enjoyed their time. This is my goal for all guests and the location of the property as well as its amenities facilitates this result. the closeness of the pacific and the beach as the views of the dunes and the ocean from the living and dining room bring joy and excitement to all. In addition to the L tram, there are several different bus lines that are also very close tot he property.

“Weekend in SF”

Reviewed 30 Sep 2014

Jacob's apt was a wonderful experience and was true to pictures and description. We were in town for the weekend to attend a wedding and enjoy a SF Giants and 49ers game. We formerly lived in SF in several areas and find that the apt is consistent with true SF living. We enjoyed the proximity to public transit and the beach, also no problems finding parking at all hours of the day/night. We had minimal noise issue, consistent with apt living, some of our party are unaccustomed to the lifestyle, reported to Jacob upon checkout who mentioned he would have handled it if he had known earlier, BIG PLUS. We were extremely happy with the spacious apt with 5 grown adults to feel comfortable hanging out. Jacob was very easy to communicate with and was timely with his responses. He accommodated our late arrival and had plenty of tips/hints about the neighborhood. We enjoyed our time back in our favorite city, and look forward to possibly staying again in the near future, if it's available of course. Thanks for a wonderful experience Jacob!

“Perfect For Us”

Reviewed 14 Apr 2014

Our stay was 4/1 through 4/7, a party of 4 initially--2 teenage girls and 2 adults, with another young adult arriving 4/4. We looked at and read reviews of area hotels--nothing seemed to fit for a reasonable price. Having rented places for vacations in MI, we checked rentals in SF, and am so glad we did! Our inquiry was answered right away by Jacob, the owner, who was informative and responsive. The apartment is exactly as described and pictured. The neighborhood is safe and quiet with the beautiful ocean (where we walked and collected sand dollars) just across the street. With having young people along, the wifi internet was definitely a necessity-many hotels charged extra for this! We rented a car and had no problem parking directly in front of the building every day with no meters or parking fees (hotel parking could run $40 and even more per day if there was any at all). Jacob provided us with passes to the Exploratorium and Academy of Sciences--we visited both places and really appreciated not having to pay the entrance fees! After being out all day, it was great to return to a place we enjoyed being--spacious enough where everyone could spread out--away from one another if desired. A hotel room never would have given us the space and privacy to keep us all happy, not to mention it would've been far costlier staying in any decent hotel. Our vacation in SF and stay at this apartment from beginning till end was wonderful-we hated to leave!

Owner's reply: I am very pleased that Eileen enjoyed the property as much as she did and appreciated the qualities that it has to offer. The always available parking is such a great advantage that contributes to a stress free vacation. No meters to feed, no 2 hour limitations unless you have a permit as in so many other areas of San Francisco. For so many guests, having the Pacific Ocean right across the street is such a valuable source of relaxation that contributes immensely to the quality of their time.

“Great place”

Reviewed 2 Jan 2014

OK, so as we read in another review this place does not look special from the street, in fact it looks like most other houses in the Sunset district and that is just fine, this place is about comfort and location. You can't really see Ocean Beach from the 2nd floor because of the sand dunes across the street, but you get glimpses of the water and you can feel the proximity. We stayed three nights and spent every sunrise across the road at the beach and a couple of sunsets too, although the surfers and dog walkers were always there first. The place is spacious and clean and the beds were fantastic! The massive tv was a treat too. It is close to a very reasonable coffee shop on Sloat, and there are a number of places to eat closer to Golden Gate Park, on Noriega and Judah Streets. They are fixing the shower water pressure, which was terrible when we were there, so check on that, but otherwise this place was great for us. It feels safe and the parking is even easier than we thought it would be, we always got a spot right across the street.

Owner's reply: I am glad that John and his family appreciated both the comfort at the property and its location. Many of our guests appreciate these same features. For the TV watchers--whether it is a movie or a sports event, the 52" Panasonic TV adds to the enjoyment. More than one guest has told us that they intend to buy this model for their home. The shower now works perfectly. Once the defective shower head was replaced, the "water pressure" problem disappeared.

“California Road Trip”

Reviewed 15 Aug 2013

We just got back from our trip to California. The apt. in San Fransisco was the last place we stayed. Don't be deterred by the building's exterior. Jacob keeps the inside of the apartment spotless! He was easy to reach and greeted us armed with all the info we would need. The neighborhood was quiet and safe. Ample free parking. We loved hearing the waves across the dunes! There were two bedrooms with double/queen beds. The third bedroom (which has no door) was fine for a teenaged boy to camp out for three nights. We put the futon cushions on the floor and made up a large bed for him that way. You could hang a sheet across the door and other opening into the kitchen if need be. There are plenty of clean towels and sheets (including washer and dryer downstairs) so everyone was well served. We enjoyed eating the great food at Java Beach café across from the zoo and talking with the locals at the Aqua Surf Shop. Public transportation is just a block away if you don't want to use a car while in town. We would definitely travel this way again. It was our first attempt at renting properties and it was great!!!! We highly recommend it.

“Nice place, nice location, nice owner”

Reviewed 6 Jun 2013

My family and I stayed at this apartment from May 1-6, 2013. The apartment was spacious and comfortable. It was close enough to everything but far from the hustle and bustle of the crowds. You could see the sunset and sunrise from the dining room window and the beach is right across the street. Jacob, the owner was very helpful and accommodating. I was a bit hesitant to stay in an apartment because of all the scams on the internet, but the entire experience went smoothly. I would definitely recommend the apartment!

“Great stay!”

Reviewed 24 May 2013

Our Girl Scout troop stayed here for 3 nights while in SF for a GS event. The apartment was very clean and comfortable, with everything we needed. The neighborhood is quiet and safe. The beds are comfortable, and there were plenty of futons for the girls. The kitchen is well-equipped - we cooked most of our meals while there. There's a good pizza place a few blocks away, and a grocery store about 1 mile away. The beach is right across the street. There's a Muni/bus stop a couple blocks away that easily connects to anywhere in SF and beyond. The owner was very helpful, and communicated in a timely manner. We would definitely stay here, again, and highly recommend it.
