Beautiful ocean front view

August 12, 2015

My family of six adults and two teenagers spent the weekend at Jacobs beach flat. The home was spacious and comfortable with plenty of room for everyone to spread out. The flat we stayed in was on the third floor which made it challenging to put our bicycles away at night. I would recommend bringing a strong bike lock and leaving your bicycles in the entrance of the building overnight. The kitchen was equipped with everything needed to prepare home cook meals and the beautiful circular dining room table was the perfect setting for evening and breakfast conversations. Public transportation was close by and there were cafés and bars within walking distance. Great highway was nearby and provided beautiful scenic views all around. We got to meet Jacob, and he provided us tips on the city as well as showing us around the flat. We would love to spend more time there and hope to visit again next summer. The only reason I did not give it five stars, was because there was only one restroom which made coordinating with eight people a little challenging. However, we knew there was only one restroom so other than that it was perfect!

Not what we thought...so much WORSE!

June 22, 2015

We had higher expectations based on the reviews and photos. This older apt was large but not cleaned nor maintained well. It was in disrepair and seemed neglected. Most disappointing was the air mattress as a bed in the 3rd bedroom. The rest of the furniture seemed worn and dirty. One couch in living room with 2 mismatched dining chairs that looked like they were from garage sales. The towels smelled funky and needed to be replaced. The number bed didn't work, the window treatments were stained or didn't work. The wood floors were faded and slippery. Stairs leading up to this 3rd floor apt were dim, spiraling, narrow and steep. If I had known this, I would not have reserved this place. Junk was stored in the closets and in the cabinets along with expired food items and old toletries. I killed 2 spiders, 1 roach and 1 silverfish in the 2 days we were there. The kitchen sink leaks into a bucket underneath and some sort of plastic was inserted around the faucet since it is not mounted correctly and leaks. The drain cover in the shower is not secured and moves off the drain. The hall closet door was missing. Handwritten instructions are taped in various places on the walls and look shoddy. Not professional. Needs typewritten information in a notebook. Needs paint, repair and cleaning. The owner did not hire a service, but cleaned the apartment himself. He was perfectly nice and cordial and tried to be accommodating. This is not personal, but it is business and we spent a lot of money on our trip only to be faced with this huge diappointment.

Needs work

April 26, 2015

We stayed in this 2 bedroom (though it is listed as 3 bedroom) apartment for 3 nights. It is located in a building that seems to have been forgotten..so run down. Needs someone to buy it and care about it. It has a beautiful view of the ocean and a nice kitchen. Unfortunately we had to clean for 2 hours (including wash the dishes) when we first arrived. Ron was very nice and returned our cleaning fee. He tried very hard to be very accommodating and we appreciated this. I believe that it could be a nice place...though the entry hall To the apartment is very dirty and the apartment below has a padlock on the OUTSIDE of it's front door. Spooky at night. Best thing about this place is Ron and the view.

They did not respond to several emails when I wanted to rent the property. I stayed somewhere else since there was no response.

Not ready for prime time

September 30, 2014

This property is located a stones throw from the beautiful National seashore, and about 30 minutes from downtown. Advertised as a 3 bedroom it only has 2 bedrooms and a converted dining area that contains an inflatable bed. The property is in desperate need of renovation with broken windows, a bedroom door that cannot close, and entry doors locks that do not lock consistently . The kitchen floor has tears in the linoleum. The two remaining bedrooms have comfortable beds, but have cheap paper blinds taped to the windows. There is no AC , and you have to rely on a floor fan to cool the rooms. There is a large screen TV with DVD,s, and the kitchen does come stocked. The owner was friendly ,but clearly mis represents the property , which would be better listed as a bachelor crash pad. I know that property is expensive in the Bay area, but you would be best served by finding another place to rent until this owner makes much needed repairs to this property.

Wish we could have stayed longer

September 24, 2014

Jacob was friendly and informative and great to work with. The apartment was clean, functionable, pleasant and well stocked with linens and kitachen supplies. Loved that you can view the ocean out the dining room window and that it's just across the street. We accessed the Muni system which was just a block away.

Good location

September 10, 2014

The amenities listed for the apartment were incorrect. There was 1 queen bed,1 double bed, no twin beds and no sofa bed. We were a party of 6 adults and 2 of the adults were expected to sleep on a mattress on the floor in a room that we considered inadequate as a bedroom. It was off the kitchen with a hatch covered by a piece of concertinaed paper. On the other wall was an opaque window through to the bathroom. It also had a skylight with an extendable ladder leading to the roof but no windows. The rest of the apartment was large, light and in a reasonable state of repair. The other details were correct with good views of the Pacific, on street parking and good local amenities. When the owner was contacted about our dissatisfaction an agreement was reached that we should go out and buy an air mattress that he would pay for. We were able to site this in the lounge enabling all adults to be comfortably accommodated

Lovely, quiet apartment with ocean view

August 16, 2014

The apartment is lovely and well appointed. The availability of museum passes was a nice plus. The L line will take you to downtown in less than 30 minutes. The entryway is a dark, funky hallway next to the garage- don't be alarmed, the apartment is light and modern with cable and wifi. We would stay here again!

A very good place to visit SF for a big family

April 9, 2014

We had a great week in this apartment located in front of the Pacific ocean in SF. The street is called "great highway" but no worries at all!: there is absolutely no noise from the traffic, which is very limited in this part of SF. The place seemed very safe and very quiet. Very easy to access and to park a car. The apartment had everything we needed and was very comfortable for our big family of 8 people. The owner is very honest and made all he can do to help us having a nice time in SF. I strongly recommend this place for families who, like us, could not afford the rent of an apart in the heart center of SF.

Great location

April 5, 2014

We were 6 adults and we spend 4 nights in this great apartment. There was enough space to sleep for everybody. Towels and bed sheets were provided. The kitchen provides enough dishes and everything you need for cooking, while you are facing the pacific ocean through the windows. If you are taking one step outside you are right in front of the beach and the ocean. You can buy groceries and everything you need in the nearby mall. It takes 5 minutes to get there by car. There are also public transportations around the block to get to the city. All in all we had a great stay. Jacob was very easy to reach if we had any questions. He always responded in minutes to emails and texts. We would come back any time!

Owner's reply:

I am really pleased that Olga and her friends enjoyed their time at the property and in SF. It is my goal that all guests have the best possible experience at the property. I make a point of being available for any inquiries they might have. They were ideal guests and I do hope that they will come back to stay in the future.

Great Ocean Veiw near the Zoo

March 25, 2014

This property has a nice view of the ocean. We were able to watch surfers, dolphins, and ship coming and going from kitchen table. Only a short walk across highway to beach(2mins). Easy 2 block walk to Muni and bus stops makes travel anywhere in city simple.Takes about 1/2 hour to get downtown. 2 blocks from zoo entrance. This property is on third floor so a few stairs. This is not a "fancy" place by any means but had everything we needed and we were comfortable there. Only a couch in living room so wasn't the greatest for four people. Laundry is on bottom floor. Beds were comfortable. Master bed inclined and had a big TV in room. Great for Netflix. Ron was eager to help and did what he could to make our stay enjoyable. This place was good value for price if you don't mind being away from the action!

Loved our stay!

March 17, 2014

My family of 5 stayed here for 4 nights and absolutely loved it. There was plenty of space for us to relax in and having the convenience of parking right in front of the property was great too! We thoroughly enjoyed the tickets included, especially the Exploratorium. My Kids could have spent days in there they enjoyed it so much! Waking up to the Ocean view every morning was wonderful, and having access to the beach right across the street was great as well. The convenience of having a washer and dryer on the property definitely came in handy after we visted the beach. I highly recommend a stay here. The Owner was a pleasure to deal with.
