Area Information
Lummi Island is unique in its close proximity to the mainland and the fact that it is served by its own vehicle ferry. The ferry makes the 10 minute crossing at least one an hour from 6 am to midnight each and every day.

You will be able to enjoy the treasures of island life, as well as mainland exploration. Day trips to the cities of Vancouver, BC Canada or Seattle, WA are perfectly within reason, as is hiking Mt. Baker, Whale Watching and visiting some of the other San Juan Islands.

You and your family will love it here!

PS. if we're reserved for your desired dates, or the cottage isn't quite what you're looking for, please ask about our other preferred waterfront properties!

What a reprieve! We really enjoyed the quite solitude the house offered us. In addition, the house is located close to the water and offers a spectacular view. The hot tub is inside, but the windows still provide a secluded place to lounge. I would recommend this rental.

"We came for a wedding and had an experience. This is like a secret treasure! Weather couldn't be better."

"What a wonderful house! Such lovely views, beautiful sunsets and a great trail in the backwoods. We enjoyed roaming through the blackberry bushes and taking walks around the island. What a fun place."

August 2006

"The home is beautiful! There are blackberry bushes growing on the side of the roads that are wonderful. We went on hikes and long walks (they may have been longer since we got lost), the beaches were lovely, and the neighbor's cat "meow" was very friendly. She likes milk a lot. We enjoyed our stay, and are hesitant to leave."

"This is a wonderful place! We had tons of fun, beautiful sunsets, and great activities. We loved to play down at the beach. We even rode on a log and paddled around on it with kayak paddles for 3 hours! With wetsuits. We loved going in the hot tub and watching the beautiful sunsets! Us two families had a superb time!"

"This was a lovely place to be for a week. We saw Orcas one night down at the Willow's Restaurant and we got fresh beautiful shrimp from Leo. I couldn't believe that they stayed alive on ice for hours. The house is lovely and light and spacious and we were happy that there was a washer and dryer, well equipped kitchen-even the spices were helpful. A very enjoyable place."

"We loved the house and all of the work you took to put together top of the line finishing touches. There were some missing items you might like to address, but it was a great holiday. Lovely view!"

"Coming here is like going on a retreat. It refreshes one's mind and rejuvenates one's spirit. It is quiet, peaceful and there is nothing like staring out at the gorgeous view, watching the stars as on sits in the hot tub, or snuggling down into incredibly comfy beds.

Thank you for sharing this with me".

"I was in such a need of a vacation. This location provided for me the solitude and beauty I was seeking. To sit outside and listen to the birds as you watch the clouds race across the sky is a powerful catalyst to inner peace. It is so easy to let time slip by without a care in the world.

Your kitchens (inside and outside) were lovely. My partner was able to create such magnificent dishes! Your entire house is just beautiful. Thank you for sharing it!! We hope to return again"!

March 2008

"Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us. We were very impressed with the thoughtfully appointed accommodation. We have rented a house for our retreat for six years, but this one was the best by a long shot. We much enjoyed the Lummi Island blackberry syrup presented to us on our first day by a gracious neighbour.

We hope to come again".

"Island View is aptly named and we greatly enjoyed the scenery, but it doesn't capture the peace and nourishment we found in the sunsets, the gusting winds, the friendly neighbors, the house itself and the passionately tended gardens. Being here is more than just an Island View, it's food and nourishment for the heart and soul".

We'll be back!

"A wonderful week overlooking the water. Lots of naps, great meals, hot tub sessions and great walking from the back yard to the ferry and around. Lots of birds (35), Orcas, Porpoises and Seals along with deer and smaller critters. It was a great place to gather our family. I hope we can make it back one day".

What a perfect way to see the San Juan Islands. This was our first trip to the Northwest and what a beuatiful place to stay. The house was beautiful and thank you for all the little touches. We will always remember the dinners on the deck and the deer wandering around. Best day was our trip with Captain Charlie to Matia Island on his sailboat. Just perfect, as we saw some Seals and Bald Eagles.

This is our last evening to take in the incredible view.

We have extended family here on Lummi, so it was a very special to see them. Our daughter and her family were here from Tampa, Florida. They were staying at the Jewel family cabin. It was so wonderful to see them! But, it's always hard to say goodbye. We haven't seen them since last October.

Your wonderful home will always hold special memories for us. Thank you for sharing it with us.

We had the most wonderful time imaginable. The house is beautiful. Everything was perfect, the views, the kitchen, all the appliances.

We came all the way from Isreal to see Lummi Island, and would not hesitate to come again.
