“Old San Juan”

Reviewed 7 Feb 2017

Authentic living inside the walls of Old San Juan - walking to both forts and dining/shopping. No better way to get the sense of the community than living in it. On site owner/operator made a great experience for us as we waited to board our cruise - and walking to cruise ship boarding was easy. Also close access - walking distance- to bus system to explore other areas of PR. When we go back to PR, we will again stay at 312 Calle de Sol!

Owner's reply: Thanks so much Steve. Always welcome. Fredy

“Great experience”

Reviewed 4 Jan 2017

I stayed here with some friends for four nights. The location was perfect: in Old San Juan, but not too busy, and with the charm of the old buildings. Fredy was so helpful and kind throughout the whole process. Would stay here again for sure.

Owner's reply: Thanks so much for your recommendation. Always welcome.

“Fantastic choice”

Reviewed 14 Jun 2016

Fred is most hospitable and his place if fully furnished with all the essentials of home. The location is simply perfect and the area is amazingly beautiful! His vacation home was a MUCH better choice than any hotel would have ever been.... Thanks Fred, for opening your home to us.

“Great location - spacious accommodations!”

Reviewed 2 Jun 2016

We stayed on the main floor and the location was excellent. The charm of the old city comes through in the apartment, which is quite spacious. Owner Fredy was very responsive and easy to communicate with. Internet connection was good and easy. Getting around by walking was simple - the major sites and restaurants are all close by. Would definitely recommend this place to others.

“Excellent vacation rental!”

Finally getting around to leaving a review, but wanted to share our wonderful experience staying at 312 Calle Sol. The location is fantastic: in or close to the heart of Old San Juan...but north of some of the heaviest foot/car traffic. Owner Fredy was gracious and helpful...available if needed, but not intrusive. We were curious about the lack of air conditioning, having read prior reviews -- true, it was warmer than we were used to, but with the open air window slats in front and the breeze coming off the ocean (and fan), we were comfortable. Apt is very nice size for a couple, and is an absolutely terrific value. We would not hesitate to stay here again next time we are in Old San Juan!!

“Good location, good host”

Very well located in old san juan, walking distance from the historic sites, the restaurants and bars. 5-10 minutes drive from the beaches. The appartment is clean, confortableand spacious. the kitchen has everything we need although it is a little bit small. We have met with Fredy, our host, who has been very nice to us. We recommend this appartment with no hésitation. You have to know that parking a car in old san juan can be quite a big deal!

“Great location”

Wonderful nine days on Sol Street! Great location to see the sights, all within walking distance. Fredy was very helpful and assisted us with any needs. If you're looking for something low key this is the place. Even the neighbors and 'local cats' were friendly.

“Great Property & Location!”

Reviewed 15 Jan 2015

Stayed at this property for a week. Wish it had been longer. The pictures and description of this property were perfect. Represented well with no surprises. Fredy knows what he's doing and is on top of things as far as communication and getting the keys to you on your arrival. He met me at the door when I got in and showed me around. I had been to Old San Juan on several occasions and knew the area so I didn't need to ask many questions, but he's there for you if you want to know where the market is, or have any questions at all...he's only a text/email/or phone call away. The area is safe and perfectly located between the Forts (Catillo San Cristobal and San Felipe del Morro). Walking distance to countless bars and restaurants for authentic dining experiences and close enough to the tourist area near the piers that you can have all that area has to offer yet still get back to the apartment where many fewer tourists venture. This allows you to live more like a local for your time and experience the true flavors of Old San Juan. I wouldn't hesitate renting this place from Fredy once again and I wouldn't change a thing about this trip. I can't wait to get back to hear the sound of the Cocqui's throughout the evening, talk with the friendly and charming people that live in Viejo San Juan, and enjoy the warmth that Fredy's apartment and my favorite island in the Caribbean has to offer. Until next time...

Owner's reply: Thanks so much.

“Great Weekend”

Reviewed 18 Dec 2014

We had a great trip to Old San Juan (OSJ) and stayed in this historic apartment for the weekend. Everything was as pictured and expected. It is in a great location in OSJ, blocks from San Cristobal, El Morro and great bars on San Sebastian. The apartment is very spacious and had everything we needed. The only recommendation I have is that hooks or somewhere to hang damp towels/clothes would be helpful. There is no AC however the numerous ceiling fans kept the place comfortable. The private patio is between the apartment and bathroom and while I actually liked this setup during the day it could make for an interesting middle of the night trip when raining. Picking up and dropping of the key was seamless. Wilfredo was very nice and helpful. Thank you for sharing your property w/ us!

Owner's reply: Erin, thanks for your review. There is a cord to hang clothes and towels in the patio.
