Things to know about where you are:
The distance from San Pedro Town to the cottages is 8 miles North (about a 3 hour romantic walk along the beach) a short bike ride, or a short boat ride by water taxi. Turtle Beach has 2 bikes for free use, just ask the caretaker. Our water taxi service is called 'Coastal Express' and operates from 6am - 8:30pm daily. This is very convenient for those who wish to explore the city of San Pedro or tour the island. (Helpful tip – for those who want to go back and forth to the city everyday, consider purchasing a Golden Pass from Coastal Express which is good for 7 days). You can also get here by golf cart but the road is very bumpy so we do not recommend it.
Things to bring from home:
Swim trunks, flip fops, snorkel gear, suntan lotion, mosquito repellant and a care free relaxed attitude! Also for those avid fisherman, this is a great spot for fly fishing for Bonefish (Albula vulpes), Tarpon, and Permit fish (Trachinotus falcatus) right off the pier, so bring your gear.
When you arrive in San Pedro:
Your stay with us includes a meet and greet at the San Pedro Airport and we will guide you to your vacation cottage.
Things you may wish to purchase in San Pedro:
There are two restaurants in near-by resorts. One is a 10 minute walk South of your cottage and another is 15 minutes North of your cottage. We recommend that you bring or purchase groceries for at least 1 day after you arrive. The fresh fruit here is excellent and we highly recommend the Mango, Papaya, and Dragon Fruit. Note that you do not need to buy drinking water since we provide you with a 5 gallon jug of water which can be refilled for a small fee and there is filtered fresh well water available on site for showers and washing. Groceries can be purchased on-line from Mata Grande Grocery store and they will deliver them directly to your cottage. Note that most grocery stores in San Pedro are open until 6pm. Also note that fresh fish and lobster can be bought off our pier from the local fisherman (ask the caretaker if you wish to purchase some).
Notes about the on-site caretaker:
We have an on-site caretaker staying in another smaller cottage at the back of the property. He is your contact to help you with your questions and ensure that your stay is as enjoyable as possible. Be sure to ask him about his fire pit dinners (small fee). He is there for your security at night so feel free to contact him at any time. If you have a batch of laundry that needs cleaning be sure to contact your caretaker and he will arrange it with housekeeping. If you would like to purchase fresh fish from the local fisherman, ask him. If you are interested in taking a day trip somewhere be sure to ask him that too.

Reviews for this vacation cottage rental in San Pedro, Belize
July 7, 2014
This was a dream holiday at a dream location! Quite ideal seaside cottage just few steps far from your own piece of sea, where various fishes can be seen all day long (snorkelling gear is recommended!) The house is located a bit far from San Pedro, but with watertaxi it is in 45minutes distance and the are daily more shuttle boats to and from. The house is perfectly furbished, spacious enough for 2 person. The wifi is speed enough to get in contact via skype with family or to chat. The housekeeper is friendly and helpful, he made some shopping for us, and organized some fresh fish. I can recommend it for the ones who need peaceful and relaxed holiday.
