This is an open-architecture home, which means that the person in the kitchen can easily talk to the people in the Family Room area. There is only one door in the main home, and it is on the bathroom. The building is the owner's shop and storage area and is not part of the vacation rental. It is not occupied during your rental.

A Queen Tempurpetic bed is in 1-alcove with a large closet and a heavy blue velvet privacy curtain. There is comfortable Queen Innerspring Futon in the Family Room alcove and 2-Twin cots with airbed toppers that can be set up in front of the fire-stove. This alcove area is also separated from the rest of the Bungalow by another large blue velvet privacy curtain.

Use our bikes for an easy 12-15 minute ride to the village of Capitola, with its large beach with volleyball, seaside restaurants and fun shops, or enjoy ride the 30-minute ride on the bike paths to the Beach Boardwalk and avoid the parking charge.

Bucks Beach Bungalow is just 9-doors to the first stairway down to the 1st of 3 nearby beaches: If the occasional very high tide limits access the first beach, you can stroll along the large 24-foot wide, walking/biking path to the left about 8-homes away to the next staircase down to a large sandy cove, that is always available. There is another large beach to the right, called Moran Lake which is about 3-blocks north east that has a parking area & bathrooms, and a large sandy beach area that is always available.

The Pleasure Point Park at the corner of 31st Ave is often used for surfing contests and has picnic tables and an outside showers and bathroom facility. Further to the northeast is the world-famous Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk with the coast's oldest wooden roller coaster and to the South is the fun Seaside village of Capitola

Enjoy the large gas barbecue in the backyard as we always have an extra gas tank so you won't run out during your BBQ. We also have a full-size Foosball table! Several redwood chairs and tables are available to enjoy the front deck and backyard.

The street is more of a path, with surfers, bicyclists, and strolling people admiring the beautiful gardens, including the Bungalow's. Sip morning coffee from the front redwood deck and watch the sailboats floating by, while enjoying the fresh gentle breeze.

We have our small short-haired dog stay with us when we stay here; so if you're allergic, be advised we cannot guarantee that every speck of dog will have been removed, though we are usually successful. .

We delight in giving you Free Local knowledge about all the fun activities that will be happening during your stay - please call us for more information or if you'd like to make a reservation with us, the owners since 1999, directly.

Handicapped info for Bungalow = Though our home is not "officially" registered as handicapped accessible, several sets of guests with handicaps have found it comfortable. The parking in back can only accommodate one car if handicapped access is necessary. Other parking for your vehicles is available, without permit, in front of home or anywhere on 35th Ave. Cars must be parked inside the white line which is done by going over the 3" curb onto the small private sidewalk in front of the deck to avoid a parking ticket on the weekends. Two small cars can be parked in front or one large one.

There can be a ramp into back door (by special request), which is the closest door to the cement parking area in back. There is a smooth cement path from parking to back door which is 29/30" wide. Cement Patio with Gas BBQ, Foosball table and Outdoor shower are all accessible. The hot tub is not as it has 3-stairs up to get into the Tub. The back door is 31" wide and the door to the bathroom is 28-1/2" wide. The toilet is next to the door and there is a clear space of 41"x 42" next to it. The shower access, pass sliding glass doors is 20". If the shower door is too small, consider using the outdoor shower which is very private. There are handicapped rails on both inside and outside of shower and next to toilet.

“We came for our 25th Anniversary, it was just . .”

Reviewed 16 Sep 2011

We came for our 25th Anniversary, and it was just perfect!! My wife gave me all sorts of credits for having had fresh flowers put in the Bungalow (I didn't have the heart to tell her that the owners always have them for all guests) Really enjoyed waking up and rolling out the the very private hot tub and listening to the waves and occasional sea lions in the distance while sipping a hot cup of coffee. Took the bicycles out for a fun ride over to the boardwalk and a great lunch on the pier. Also enjoyed the firestove and the shiatsu massage chair. Hope to come back for another anniversay celebration soon. Jim & Mandy from San Francisco
