Description of the Santa Teresa vacation villa rental
We invite you to The Jungle House in Playa Santa Teresa to enjoy your Costa Rica vacations at our award winning beaches. You can stay 100 yards from the beach, yet still be right in town close to everything, and have a spacious, one of a kind, Costa Rica villa for your vacation rental home away from home.

The Jungle House is the best value vacation rental villa in the heart of Santa Teresa Costa Rica. For an adventurous family, or any group of self-sufficient, adventurous travelers that prefer rustic charms & independence, The Jungle House is the ideal rental near the beach & everything the town has to offer.
An adventurous family, a few couples, or group of friends traveling together can enjoy renting an entire large house and walk to the beach & the best surf breaks in Costa Rica within five minutes.

Accommodations at The Jungle House are rooms in a safe & secure two story, 3400 square foot house built to make you feel intertwined with the natural environment. It feels secluded because we are totally surrounded by big trees. There are no neighbors to the left or right, and out the front gate is the lively main street with shops & restaurants.

The upstairs part of The Jungle House is like its own apartment with a small kitchen, big living room, two bedrooms, and 1.5 bathrooms. The upstairs rooms are:

The Jungle Suite: This room is perfect for a couple. It has a king size bed & its own full bathroom, A/C, and views of palm tress all around. It is upstairs & shares a living room w/ a large sofa & bar area.

The Junior Suite: This bedroom has a double bed, and one half bath. There is no A/C, but two ceiling fans keep the room cool.

The downstairs has the main kitchen, dining area, four bedrooms and one bathroom. The downstairs rooms are:

The Jungle Room Grande: 2 beds (1 queen & 1 single) with A/C & ceiling fans. There is a common bathroom for 5 rooms.

The Jungle Room Solo: 1 double bed with shelves & a place to hang clothes, A/C & ceiling fan.

The Jungle Surf Bunks: 3 identical rooms with bunk beds & A/C. There is a common bathroom for 5 rooms, bamboo showers are outside.

With one of Central America's best beach breaks right outside our backyard, it is perfect for a Costa Rica surf vacation. We host yoga retreats & surf schools at the Jungle House too.

Forbes Magazine ranked Santa Teresa, Costa Rica one of the top ten most breathtaking beaches in the world! Its lush tropical scenery, volcanic rock formations, an abundance of wildlife, and proximity to outdoor adventure activities make it one of the best beach towns in Costa Rica. Although The Jungle House is oceanfront, you cannot see the Pacific Ocean due to the dense foliage. To get to the beach & main surf break, it's just a 5 minute walk to the ocean via a public path.

You'll definitely feel that you've entered an exotic jungle since it is common to see many species of animals in the backyard of the house, including groups of Howler Monkeys, iguanas, butterflies, and a variety of birds.

The setting is great for friends traveling together, families, and other groups. With the variety of activities available it is ideal for groups that want to spend a lot of time being active together. You can learn to surf, practice yoga, or participate in the many activities offered like, canopy tours, day trips to waterfalls, horseback riding, or just chilling at the beach.

Everyone can come together to cook dinner at home. We have a big BBQ & picnic area, as well as an ample kitchen for making family style dinners.

Amenities include A/C, ceiling fans all over the house keep it cool, and hot water. On the second level there is a small kitchen, 10 person leather couch, Wi-Fi internet, and ping pong table. Downstairs has a large, common kitchen, outdoor BBQ & picnic area, and a Yoga Studio/ Large Hangout Rancho.

The main surf break is 5 minutes away and there are waves for all levels and abilities, warm water and air temps year round, and natural tide pools a few minutes away too. There is secured parking, and we're conveniently located near small grocery stores, shopping, surf shops, and restaurants.

There is free access to wi-fi, main kitchen, BBQ, dining room, hammocks, and covered deck. The kitchen is ample with everything you need to cook, coffee maker, and blender for making smoothies.

We have safe parking if you rent a car. I can arrange ground transportation for you too. The best way to get here, though, is by flying in a small plane from San Jose to Tambor airport. Check Sansa for the latest prices. It's a 45 minute car ride from Tambor to The Jungle House. Once at Tambor, with advance notice we will coordinate a pick up.

I speak English & Spanish and will be a very welcoming host for you. I live downstairs, so I'm available to help you with anything. My name is Joe Gatto, estoy a la orden.

The Jungle House has consistently gotten great reviews on TripAdvisor. We're very thankful to be here & extremely grateful for our guests & the positive reviews! Come visit us soon.

Area Information
Playa Santa Teresa is the best beach town in Costa Rica for independent travelers that want to get away from it all, still have a lot of fun activities to do, opportunities to socialize & party a little, and plenty of comforts of home too. Santa Teresa, Costa Rica at the southwestern corner of the Nicoya Peninsula is one of Costa Rica's remaining off-the-beaten path cool spots. The Lonely Planet says "it has become one of Costa Rica's most life affirming destinations. Here, the sea is alive with wildlife and is almost perfect when it comes to shape, color and temperature."
A funky, laid-back surfer town, full of expats from the U.S., Canada, Israel, Argentina, and across Europe; it was just a sleepy fishing village with 30 families as far back as 1985. People from around the world have seen its beauty and potential, and relocated here to start businesses & families, and create a unique community.
You'll find lots of great restaurants blending the freshest local ingredients & cuisine with European and international gastronomic tendencies. There are fun beach bars and great restaurants, some will even let you bring your own beer and wine. There are many interesting places to discover, and new things to try.
Most people come here for surfing. Santa Teresa, Costa Rica boasts some of the world's most consistent waves, and it doesn't get too crowded out on the water either. Experts have several great surf spots around Santa Teresa to choose from and beginners can count on various surf schools with excellent, patient instructors to get them up and having fun before their Costa Rica surf vacation is over.
Surfing is not the only activity in the Santa Teresa/Mal País area. The fishing is outstanding! The fisherman can also take you snorkeling. The exciting canopy tour along ziplines at the edge of Cabo Blanco Nature Reserve gives you a beautiful bird's eye view of the area's splendor. Yoga in Santa Teresa is a popular activity, and there are many excellent teachers and various classes to try out. Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) is a booming water sport that you can learn in Santa Teresa as well. Kayak fishing in Mal País harbor or cruising up the Río Bongo to see all kinds of wildlife is one of the funnest things you can do around Santa Teresa.
ATVs are the primary means of transportation for most residents, and rentals and extreme tours are readily available. Horseback riding along the beach and through the hills is a mellow activity that gives you a distinct perspective on things.
And of course, just hanging out at the gorgeous award-winning beach with friends, meeting new people, and having beers in the shade of palm & almond trees is an all-time favorite. Santa Teresa is also family friendly and offers many options for family vacation rentals, and fun activities with children.
