Description from owner

Riverside Lodge (see all our photos on the links tab) offers visitors a relaxing, private yet accessible vacation locale. The style is 'Adirondack-camp' and we have gone to great extents to bring the natural beauty and warm feeling of the region into our home. Our guests have complimented our décor and appreciate the 'upscale' nature of the decoration. If you are looking for comfort and privacy with all of the amenities of a home, Riverside Lodge will make a charming and memorable retreat for you, your family and friends.

The master bedroom/bath combination has a Queen size antique brass and metal bed, sitting area and TV with cable, DVD. It has a large window overlooking the lake. A late night glance at the lake will capture your attention when the moon reflects beautifully over the water. Early risers will appreciate the mist that rises from the lake that appears as smooth as glass except for an occasional pair of loons that appear to rise early as well.

The 'cottage bedroom' has a queen-size bed and is decorated with natural wood walls, and a small birch tree to bring the feeling of the outside to the inside. This bedroom also has a large window facing the lake.

Our '3rd upstairs bedroom is decorated in rustic woods, moose motif and features one queen bed.

A full size bathroom with a shower and bathtub is available to the bedrooms on this floor as well.

Our main floor of the lodge features a Brand new country gourmet kitchen with eat-in area, access to upper deck area and barbecue grill. Through beautifully appointed yellow-birch columns you view the lake and high peaks from the kitchen and enter into a formal dining room with pocket doors, for privacy, seating for 10, overlooking the upper decks and lake chain entrance.

The dining area opens onto the living room area with comfortable furnishings just perfect for relaxing after a full day of outdoor activities. The room has Adirondack accents and accessories. It is bright and sunny and has awesome views of our private lakefront. A fireplace with an extraordinary wood mantle and wooden natural beamed ceiling highlight the richly appointed room. A sun-porch entrance is accessible through this room which features rattan furnishings and great views of the sunset.

On the same floor a full bath highlighted with white-birch accessories features a bath/tub shower combination.

The Riverside Lodge guestroom has enough room for a family of four. There is a queen sofa bed, TV/VCR and DVD combination entertainment center, and a trundle bed, which opens to accommodate two single beds. This room has access to the screen-porch as well with a split Dutch door for cool evening breezes.

The lower level of the lodge has a family room with fireplace, game table, entertainment center, and TV/DVD combination, and library of tapes, books and board games. French doors lead to lower decks and the hot tub, great for evening relaxing during summer or winter.

A full laundry area with washer and dryer is available for use of guests. Linens are provided and housekeeping is provided at the end of your stay.

The grounds have been manicured to provide you with a private, natural and rustic feeling. Woods surround us, it is quite private and the lakefront is accessible via a stone staircase. The boat dock accommodates more than one motor boat. We provide a canoe for your use. It is a lovely area to enjoy the lake, take in the sun or relax during sunsets. Inquire into use of pontoon boat.

We limit the number of guests to 10 and insist on no smoking in the lodge.

“Cheryl”

Reviewed 3 Aug 2015

This property was home away from home. Everything you need in a kitchen was there. House was spacious and plenty of room for 10 people and located on a small quiet road. The house was in close proximity to many attractions. Dock area was nice but no "beach", however there was a ladder that you could use to get in and out of the water. Donna and Charlie were more than helpful answering questions. My family would go back there again if a vacation is planned for the Lake Placid/Saranac Lake area.

Owner's reply: Thanks for the lovely comments Cheryl. Come back again soon!
