“Absolutely Perfect Sarasota Cottage”

Reviewed 3 Feb 2017

I stayed at this wonderful cottage for a month and it wasn't long enough! It is a beautiful cottage, lovingly decorated with period details you will be hard pressed to find anywhere else. Hand embroidered linens, cottage style antiques, period hardware, and English bone china contribute to a decor that ensures a relaxing and cozy experience. Additionally, this little cottage is furnished with everything you might need for an extended stay! The kitchen is fully stocked with every utensil, dinnerware, bakeware etc., the furnishings are comfortable and the back patio is adorable. The owners, Dale and Carmen, are warm, helpful and clearly care about the experience of their guests. They live nearby and are available for anything should you need anything, but are also respectful of their guests' privacy. I met many of the neighbors while staying there and left feeling I had become a part of this sweet neighborhood. The location is ideal, as it is within walking distance of downtown Sarasota and many wonderful shops and restaurants, yet only a 15 minute drive to the beach. I would highly recommend this cottage for an individual or couple looking for a special vacation!

Owner's reply: Thank you, Adriana. You are welcomed back anytime!

“Sarasota Charm”

Reviewed 20 Feb 2016

A pretty cottage in Sarasota, our home away from home for a month, I just wish it could have been longer. The painted ladies of Gillespie Park, an area that is a short walk to the historic city of Sarasota. The painted ladies are a new breed for the area. The old - Circa 1925 - cottages are being restored, renovated and modernized while keeping their distinct charm. The cottage we stayed in was most elegant. Designer quality furnishings and antiques that made the small abode seem vastly larger. The comforts of an urban home, all the amenities you could possibly need, decorated with the utmost charm. Shopping, grocery stores, quality restaurants, bars and nightclubs, theatres and beaches all within walking distance. We walked just about everywhere without any problems. A park like back yard with a jungle garden for visual delight and fresh grapefruit direct from the tree every morning. A veranda for morning coffee or afternoon tea or for just laying back and soaking in the perfect days. Excellent internet, wifi, t.v and even telephone service to most anywhere. The hosts, a charming, friendly couple. Professional in all things, while still maintaining world charm, grace and the utmost consideration to the needs and comforts of their guests. And if there was a challenge, as perhaps something was missing, such as an umbrella or a most important item such as a cork screw, said items were delivered to your doorstep literally in minutes. Comfort, convenience, affordability, gracious hosts and accommodations lacking in absolutely none of the creature comforts. Did I mention location, who from the far North could not possibly like or find something to enjoy in Sarasota, Florida an area of Florida steeped in history and the Arts - this is far removed from all that is Mickey Mouse. Although if you?re into that a 2 hour drive gets you there. What more could you ask for in a home away from home, I just hope it?s available when we?re ready to visit next time.

Owner's reply: Thanks so very much to our Canadian guests for the lovely comments about our cottage and city. You two were the perfect guests and we look forward to seeing you again soon.
