About the area

The Neighborhood The neighborhood, Indian Beach Sapphire Shores, is a premier residential area of Sarasota, located on the Bay.. It is filled with tree canopied streets with little traffic, which are wonderful for walking, biking, or just sight seeing the historic Ringling homes and other mansions that permeate the area. It is between the Ringling Museum and the Ringling Art School. It is convenient to downtown shopping, Whole Foods, the library, and a short distance to Saint Armands Circle. The bay is at the end of the street. Siesta Key Beach and Long Boat Beach are a close drive.

“Charming abode in nice neighborhood”

Reviewed 17 Dec 2016

We only stayed one week but completely enjoyed the experience. The house is very comfortable, in a nice neighborhood just blocks from the beach and has a nice lap pool in the back. We particularly liked the nice walks in the mornings and the proximity to the center of Sarasota. We look forward for to our next visit.

Owner's reply: thanks for the unexpected and lovely review.. it was a pleasure with you both from start to finish!

Owner Supplied Testimonials

The house is lovely, very comfortable and has all that you need for a relaxing stay. The pool is wonderful for cooling off after a day at the beach. The neighbourhood is easy to walk around, quiet, and has some great trees covered in Spanish moss. Very Floridian! It's handy for Sarasota, Siesta Key beaches and attractions like the Ringling Museum. Merry left clear instructions and quickly answered any queries that we had.

We had a great stay at Merryˋs place. The location is perfect, only a 12 minute drive to the beach and about half an hour to Myakka State Park or Ana Maria Island. We also enjoyed being within a walking distance to that beautiful little spot nearby where you can watch the sunset. The house was clean and the rooms were pretty. The kitchen was well equipped so you donˋt have to go out to eat all the time. We personally enjoyed having our morning coffee on the little patio in the back while watching squirrels run around in the trees. Merry was a great host: very helpful with any questions we had and very fast in responding. Thank you Merry.

We were encouraged from the beginning to be in touch about any concerns, and were welcomed to the home. Our expectations were met by the attention to detail in her instructions before we arrived and exceeded by the fact that the location, condition of the property and cleanliness were even better than the photographs. We enjoyed our correspondence with Merry and feel as if we'd actually met her through the process of renting this cozy home. Great job!

This was my first time using a vacation home rental site. Also this property had never been reviewed. So I was doubly nervous about both. However, even as we drove up and saw the outside and then opened the front door, we knew this home was a find! Our stay was incredible! The pool and the large property made us feel like we stepped out of the world into a peaceful, relaxing, and rejuvenating retreat and yet the Ringling Museum and Art School, where there was a wonderful exhibit, were minutes away as was downtown with shops and restaurants. Siesta Beach was a slightly longer drive and certainly worth the trip! I’m an engineer and a sculptor/painter. Both the artistry of the decorating and the functionality of attention to details made “living” here a comfortable delight. It was clean and well-maintained. Everything in the description was accurate and more! The place is even more beautiful than the pictures indicate. We will definitely be back! Thank you Merry and Rust
