“Beautiful and serene”
I stayed for a week at the fabulous Barn on the Pond with a bunch of friends, and loved every minute. The Barn on the Pond is conveniently located - a short and scenic drive into Woodstock, where you can find some good stores, restaurants, weekend flea market and a river with beautiful water holes to swim in. Tripp the owner is great: polite, funny, extremely accommodating and goes beyond the call of duty. The place was clean, comfortable, beautifully designed, luxurious, grand, bohemian and posh. The kitchen made me love cooking (which I usually detest)! For a couple of nights, and a morning (when it was my turn to cook) I was Gordon Ramsey (with only a fraction of the swearing). The Barn and the grounds are huge with different nooks and crannies to hang out in - one night we roasted marshmallows on the bonfire in the garden, the next night we laid around on sofas on the upstairs balcony eating posh pizza and wine with an open fire burning in the hearth, other nights we celebrated with home cooked meals at the long dining table. We had lazy afternoons chatting peacefully, swinging slowly on the giant dream catcher swing looking up at the Dr. Seuss trees, then cooled off by dangling our feet into the cool water of the pond watching frogs, listening to the sound of birds singing and crickets buzzing. So beautiful. It was like Christopher Robin had grown up to be Gatsby and was hanging out by the pond with good friends. It's the kind of place that nurtures life long memories. I will always recommend this wonderful place to friends and family, and I look forward to staying here next summer. Staying here is everything summer should be; It's an idyllic paradise.
Owner's reply: Sounds like you took full advantage of both the property and the community. Thanks for your kind words and please come again.

"Barn on the Pond was by far the best vacation rental and property I have ever experienced. I stayed with my husband and two young children along with two other families with young children over a long weekend. This turned out to be the most relaxing, comfortable, and serene place we could have picked because we chose to "nest" with all the kids. The chic, modern Barn in combo with the fire pit and pond completely validated the "glamping" we did over the stay. The place is immaculate and equipped with a serious chef's kitchen to make all your gourmet meals. BOTP is everything we wanted, expected, and even more and we would easily stay here again."

We stayed here as guests of a couple who rented it for 2 days for their wedding. The venue was ideal. the location superb. It was an out door at sunset wedding for 60 and we all fit on the porch overlooking a pond and the sunset. Attention to detail was impressive and having a washer dryer , a deluxe kitchen and room for 4 couples under one roof, priceless. After the reception we headed indoors for a true barn dance and then slowed the evening down after 10pm by gathering around the fire-pit eating smores.

This was quite a discovery! The oulying area was loaded with stuff to do, outdoor activities, restaurants. If anything, I felt like we didn't get enough time to give the property its fair due, as these was a lot of room to roam. The house itself, as I'm sure others have said, is amazing! The details are specific and tasteful. The decoration is impressive and even a little whimsical. There are two fireplaces, one outside, and a fire pit in the yard. Lots of fun. Having selected the location, I think our group was really impressed, so I kind of got to be the hero of the weekend. Thanks BoTP gang, see you soon.

I really like the place. Tripp was very helpful/easy to work with. The place was much better than I had imagined. We happened to have good weather, which made all the outside areas relevant. The place is extremely well decorated, spacious, and is good for a large group because you can spread out. There are great restaurants nearby. The place has a great view of nearby hills/mountains. I'd definitely recommend it.

A group of us stayed at Barn on the Pond in January. We were blown away. Its simply gorgeous. From the thoughtful, quirky design w/in the meticulously restored barn, to the chef's kitchen to the gorgeous grounds, we barely left. They have an airstream trailer! Beautiful spot for a wedding or any type of event. I am currently talking to the lovely owner about having my wedding there in September, thats how much we loved it. Highly Recommend!

One of the most pleasant places to be. You don`t even realize it until you are not there...it leaves you feeling alkalized and recharged. It is a perfect location and space for filming. Naturally picturesque.

My partner and I went to the barn on the pond for a sorely needed last minute vacation. Not only is the bucolic setting relaxing but the barn itself is a well designed masterpiece. Such a nice change from hum drum rental houses of the past. Tripp is very accommodating-- when our pup needed to visit a vet during our stay, a quick text to him and within 10 minutes he had asked his local friends and we had a recommendation. He clearly designed and runs this house with his visitors experience as a priority.
Our favorite parts of the experience:
Cooking nearly every meal in the great kitchen
Sunset cocktails on the upper deck with fireplace
Figuring out how the la-z-boy looks so hip ;)
We did not want to leave.

A dear friend turned 40 on Thanksgiving Day a couple of years ago. We were nine people staying there, but more like thirty for the whole day (a celebration), and supper (an extravagant feast). It was amazing how accommodating the kitchen was to such an affair. There were at least four cooks at any given time, and no one tripping over anyone else (there was even enough room to sneak by and grab some pre-supper biscuits!). The main room felt positively lush. Turning around in it to take it all in, I was surprised to find such an open space that was still cozy. I never felt overwhelmed by the architecture. The grounds are stunning, the firepit is like a beacon, there are nooks all over to gather oneself for a quiet moment, an overall feeling of comfort and ease surrounded me. For two days, this was my home.
Peaceful and Blissful, a complete vacation.

My husband and I are from Maui, Hawaii and expecting our first child. We wanted to go on a vacation that was completely different from our life style back home and well, NYC, couldn't fit the bill any better. But after a week or so in NYC, we longed for some peace, quiet and outdoorsy beauty.
Barn on the Pond was the answer.
I can't say enough about our experience there. The beauty of the Barn and the surroundings put us right back into our "Maui-relax" state while we were delighted to be surrounded by a different type of nature. The pond, trees, cute town nearby (Woodstock) and the hiking was incredible.
Barn on the Pond is a definite must for the east coast. You will feel the Bliss.
Thanks Barn on the Pond, I will come back with my little one of course!
