Description of the Sausalito vacation apartment rental
20 MINUTES BY CAR TO SAN FRANCISCO OR WALK TO FERRY

ONE BEDROOM IN-LAW APARTMENT, FILTERED BAY AND MT TAMALPAIS VIEWS, PRIVATE ENTRANCE AND PRIVATE PATIO W/GRILL. PARKING, WEEKLY HOUSEKEEPING, WIRELESS ACCESS, PREMIUM CABLE AND WASHER/DRYER INCLUDED - 30 day minimum stay

A quiet haven with separate entrance on the lower level of a private home set among heirloom trees and beautiful gardens in the hills of Sausalito. The cozy in-law suite is situated at the end of a long flagstone driveway on a large, 2/3 acre property. The recently updated, fully furnished studio looks out on greenery and large established trees, with a view of Mt. Tamalpais and of the bay and harbor peeking through the trees. The unit embodies privacy and quiet, yet is walking distance to public transportation and downtown Sausalito: 1 mile to the ferry service, and just a few blocks to bus lines, the Caledonia Street shops and downtown Sausalito restaurants and shops.

The apartment consists of four rooms: one large sitting room/bedroom which sleeps two (one queen bed), a large living room, with a kitchenette and bath in between.

The bedroom/sitting area contains two comfortable chairs, a small closet with shelves, and a small, hotel-type safe for your valuables. The bathroom contains a shower (no tub), with a beautiful stained glass window of curling green vines that echoes the outside greenery. The floors are tile with warm area rugs, and the studio has its own gas heater for cool evenings. Custom balloon shades on a wall of windows showcase the lush greenery, SF bay and Mt. Tamalpais views. There is a washer and dryer in the adjacent garage for the sole use of tenants.

The living room contains a wood-burning stove, a 42" HD tv (premium cable with Showtime, wireless access, and streaming capability) a large trestle table for dining or working, a library, and sliding glass doors leading to a private view deck with table and chairs, great for morning coffee or an evening drink. The floors are tile with oriental carpets. A private, sunny flagstone patio area in the lower garden provides another outdoor venue for morning coffee or for lounging in the sun. A Weber gas grill is available for cooking and dining al fresco.

The kitchenette, suitable for light cooking, features a butcher block countertop, a two-burner inset induction stovetop with hood, microwave oven and bar refrigerator. It is furnished with dishes, cutlery, Cuisinart cookware for the induction stovetop, a toaster, blender, and bodum/French press coffee maker. There is a drop-leaf table with two chairs for indoor meals.

Driveway parking and/or easy street parking available as well.

The large sitting room/bedroom forms a complete studio unit and may be rented separately without the living room. Please inquire as to pricing.
Area Information
Sausalito, the first town across the Golden Gate Bridge, is optimally located for commuting to San Francisco, as well as exploring sightseeing areas to the North. The studio apartment is located 2 minutes from the Spencer Avenue/MonteMar Drive entrance to highway 101, 5 minutes from the Golden Gate Bridge, 45 minutes from the Sonoma/Napa wine country. It is particularly convenient for working or sightseeing in San Francisco, yet provides a place of quiet refuge at the end of the day. 25 minutes by ferry, car or bus to downtown SF, and even less to many of major tourist attractions such as the DeYoung Museum, the Legion of Honor, and Golden Gate Park (all a scant 15 minutes away). It is also minutes from various hiking trails and nature sites in the area: Marin Headlands, Tennessee Valley, Muir Woods, Mt. Tamalpais, Baker and Rodeo Beach and more.
