The Neighbourhood

Lovely scenic countryside, with berry and vegetable farms, little white churches, and excellent fishing literally across the road, (buy a license at the store nearby). There's even an eternal spring located just a few kms away from us where everyone fills up their weekly water jugs.
There are numerous government walking trails, one of which starts from our property.

Getting Around

You will need a vehicle/bicycle here for some things. Corner stores are 5 minutes away, town of Pictou, 12 mins. New Glasgow is 15. There are no sidewalks right here. Avid cyclists will adore the area, as will walkers.

Nice place to stay -good location

July 26, 2016

The apartment matches its name. It is cozy. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The location is great for exploring the Northumberland shore. The owners provided a lot of brochures for activities. We appreciated the breakfast items included. Most do not do that. My kids had a blast playing with the pets and we were offered a fire twice which was great fun. they provided roasting forks, etc. The apartment had everything you need to live comfortably. There were very few negatives and those were minor. We were disappointed that access to the washer was through the owner's apartment because it was broken in the flat itself. We thought it would be direct access. We never used the hot tub as access was through the owner's house too, but we did do laundry and the owners were happy to do it for us. They do take a damage deposit up front in cash. It is pretty hefty ($200) but we got it back at checkout after an inspection of the apartment.

Owner's reply:

The booking back in January was difficult, and took MANY emails to get completed, as she didn't know how payments worked. $200 damage deposit is very reasonable, many owners charge more. Adele said they wanted a 6 am checkout. I rose, dressed and texted her I was ready. She said, "I'll shower, finish packing and wake the others at 7" I was NOT happy. Chairs were moved to other rooms, many items moved, changed. I forgot to collect the keys. I texted and called 2 mins later, and she ignored me.

Great Hospitality

December 5, 2015

We stayed here for 8 days. The owners are wonderful people, their hospitality is over the top. The 2 bdrm. Apt. Exceeded what we were expecting. Lovely place, close proximity to any major highways to go anywhere. We would definitely stay here again. We have also recommended this place to friends that are travelling to Nova Scotia in 2016. Again thanks a million Geraldine and Wendal.

Owner's reply:

Thank you so much for your kind words! It was a pleasure hosting you and wish you all the best!
