Spacious high-end remodel offers both open areas and privacy to large families, intimate couples, and travelers who enjoy space and privacy. The house boasts three defined, generous spaces; city view master suite, main floor living and king suite, and garden level suites and living area. Japanese maples and towering stones grace the front courtyard boasting perhaps the largest pair of terra cotta pots outside of Italy. Through the front door, functional art lights a wide entry furnished with a camelback couch and fireplace. Custom inlaid stairs lead to the city view master suite and bath large enough for a couple and children, an additional sitting room is furnished with a sleeper couch. Dual sliders open onto a 750 square foot deck that views Elliot Bay, downtown Seattle and the Cascades south to Mount Rainier.

On the main level, a Lundgren-designed glass door leads to the restored 1929 bath and king size bedroom. Past the formal dining is a temperature controlled wine room and laundry services. The heart of the home, the main floor great room provides glimpses of Mt. Rainier from southern facing windows and HDTV, Bose surround sound, wireless internet and printing capacity. The granite and stainless kitchen have dual sinks, ovens, prep areas, a Thermador six-burner grill, a warming drawer, separate full size fridge and freezer, an Advantium microwave, and a multi-level island.

The garden level suite can be self-functioning. The great room has dual French doors that lead to the Japanese garden and provide a separate entry. A wide open entertaining room houses a fridge, sink, and business work space. Beauty and function combine in the luxury spa. A mirrored Kohler cabinet supplies wall-mounted water to a sink resting upon an architectural glass slab. A heated floor and marble-walled steam shower hosts aromatherapy oils and multiple shower heads. Just beyond are cal-king and king bedrooms with wall-to-wall closets. The cal-king bedroom is large is equipped with a futon couch, allowing the flexibility for younger children to be close to their parents.

“Beautiful home...perfect location!”

Reviewed 24 Aug 2016

I recently shared this house with extended family, including 7 young children. The spaces was laid out wonderfully, allowing us to spread out over 3 floors. The kitchen was high-end and equipped with everything we needed to prepare meals. We most enjoyed sitting on the top floor deck, enjoying the view. The owner lives nearby and was attentive to all our questions and needs. But the best part was the location in West Seattle and proximity to Alki Beach. So many great restaurants and things to do; plus an easy 15 minute drive into downtown Seattle. I recommend this home for large groups without hesitation!

“Excellent Vacation Home!”

Reviewed 8 Mar 2016

This home was our home away from home for 4 days. There were 8 people from 3 different countries getting together for a 15 year reunion. It was the perfect locale and offered great scenic views, was within walking distance to restaurants, etc. We will definitely be booking this again if we gather together in Seattle in the future. Thank you to the owners who made us feel welcome even though they weren't there. If you're looking for a grand place to stay then this is the place:)

Owner's reply: Thank you Sarah for your very nice review. Very happy that you enjoyed our home. We live across the street from our home, but stay away and not interrupt anything so that you fully can enjoy your time in Seattle . Although we are easily available if you need help anything or need something. :) Lisa

“vacation home in West Seattle”

Our family of 12 experienced Seattle to it's fullest. The house was beyond our greatest expectation. The kitchen was outstanding for a person who loves to cook. The owners were available for all our concerns. We had a memorable vacation.

Owner's reply: Thank you for your review.

“Great place for family”

Reviewed 3 Feb 2015

Hi Lisa I wanted to take this time to personally thank you for allowing my family the opportunity of togetherness during a unforgettable milestone in my life. Your vacation home is beautiful so I can understand the importance of being so careful regarding the care of it. The pictures online do not express the beauty and heart you have applied to the home. We would definitely consider using this property again when we are in the Seattle area. I enjoyed talking with Alex about how the project came into such a beautiful masterpiece.

Owner's reply: Thank you Madonna for your review and thank you for being such great tenants.

Great house for a party of 8 people, we had more than enough beds/rooms to share. The house was fully equipped.

“Want to move into this house permanently!”

Reviewed 11 Nov 2013

My mother and I rented this house for our extended family to stay the weekend during my wedding (I'm a transplant and had to import most of the guest list). Couldn't have loved it more! The pics provided paint a very accurate picture the place--looks very modern, recently redone, the deck view is wonderful. My mom also mentioned the landlords were extremely helpful in making sure they had everything they needed prior to their stay (we had several small children in tow). Overall, the house was spacious, beautifully decorated, and ten times better than a block of hotel rooms at the same price. Highly recommend!!

“Amazing Wedding Weekend”

Reviewed 9 Nov 2013

Our weekend stay at this upscale yet affordable West Seattle home for my daughter's wedding was wonderful. It gave our farflung (Maryland, Texas, and Illinois) family a great space to reconnect for our short Seattle stay with a beautiful great room/kitchen; yet each of our four families had great private space as well. Owners Lisa and Alex went the extra mile arranging for appropriate sleeping spots for my little grandchildren...and helpfully provided gates to keep the kids from hurtling down the stairs. You certainly couldn't ask for a more chef-friendly kitchen, our guys served a great pancake, eggs and bacon breakfast on Sunday morning. Dishes, utensils, pans--everything imaginable was provided. And I should mention the wine closet...well, we raised a glass or two or three. I had been a little concerned that we were far away from the wedding venue near the UW campus, but traversing downtown to the venue, even around kickoff time for a Seahawks game, took only 20 min. I would definitely recommend others consider this very affordable alternative to cold and isolated hotel rooms.

Owner's reply: Thanks a bunch Pat, you were wonderful tenants!

“St. Paddy's Day Weekend Staycation in Seattle”

Reviewed 19 Mar 2013

We decided on renting a vacation home when one of my husbands high school buddies announced he was coming to town with his wife and baby girl. That combined with me, my husband and son, and the third high school friend and his girlfriend had us worried about trying to find places to accommodate such a large group for meals and general hang out time. We opted for renting this AMAZING space in West Seattle. There was plenty of room, a fabulous kitchen, a stunning view, and ample parking. The downstairs was an apartment of it's own that made caring for my three month old son in the middle of the night without disturbing everyone else in the house super easy. The main floor was comfortable and large enough for all of us to hang out without being on top of one another, and the view from the upstairs master suite was glorious. The patio is seriously great, and we wish we had stayed during warmer weather so we could have truly utilized it. The neighborhood is fun and very accessible. There are many grocery stores, restaurants, and shopping areas nearby, including a Metropolitan Market and Trader Joes for the foodies out there. Speaking of foodies, the kitchen is crazy awesome. There is a 6 burner gas stove, a large food prep area on the island with a prep sink/extra disposal, there is a pot filler faucet located over the stove, and a HUMONGOUS refrigerator freezer...with an extra fridge downstairs in case you needed more room. I highly recommend this property. Some of the décor was a little odd, but the house was comfortable and well stocked. Lisa was also kind enough to call me and let me know that someone had left a t-shirt and toothbrush in the house, and that she could mail it wherever it needed to go. One last thing, there are little instruction papers throughout the house that made everything super easy. Everything from how to use the remote control to operating the steam shower in the downstairs bathroom. It was nice to have an answer to all those little things that are just slightly different when you're in someone else's home.

Owner's reply: Thanks for being great renters and for the review!!

“Wallingford house”

Reviewed 12 Nov 2012

Loved the place. Needed a place in Seattle for my daughter's wedding. Had plenty of space to sleep groups of guests arriving from out of town. Was close to freeway and a major street to get around the city. Lots of charm and allowed us to bring our German Shepherd. Plenty of places to walk. Killer view of part of downtown Seattle when looking down the street. Only drawback was parking was limited, especially for multi-guests arriving in their own vehicles.

Owner's reply: We have parking in our driveway for up to 3 cars and maybe room for one car on the street. Minimize having a bunch of cars at the house. Remember that we don't favor a party or large gathering in our home.

“Fabulous house!”

Reviewed 5 Aug 2012

We had a great time at this house! It accommodated all of us great and there was lots of room for everyone! Kids had a blast in the yard and with all the space in the house. The house is set up beautifully and was extremely clean. Great location close to downtown, safeco, zoo etc. Will be making this house an annual stay! Thanks to the owner, very helpful! Also, Thai food down the road was amazing!

Owner's reply: Thank you for the kind words; pleasure to share in your vacation & yes, please do make this a regular visit!
