In a setting of 9000 square miles, there are 11 Lakes and over 1000 waterfalls and numerous gorges, which were formed at the end of the ice age when tremendous grinding pressures gouged enormous holes in the land forming what is now the Finger Lakes Region of “Upstate New Yorkâ€. These amazing Lakes range from 3 miles (5km) to 40 miles (64km) in length and from 30 feet (10m) to over 632 feet (194m) in depth! Native American Legend says that the Fingers Lakes were the impression left behind by the creator when he reached down to bless the land. Whatever the truth, the Finger Lakes are a wonderful place to escape to, to “just get away†and where you can relax and do either very little or do a lot. To explore the many exciting places dotted around the region and to have that perfect vacation.
Sailing in the Finger LakesWhilst you are here, why not take a leisurely drive or wine tour to visit some of over 70 award winning wineries and vineyards, which have joined together to form five wine trails. Shop at a variety of stores including antique shops, boutiques, bookshops and outlet malls. Visit the many festivals, craft fairs, museums, historic sites and other activities that take place throughout the year or simply enjoy the hospitality of the people of the Finger Lakes. For the more active and adventurous visitors to the region, there are numerous summer adventure activities such as canoeing, kayak, sailing, wind surfing, hiking around the 25 State Parks to take in the Natural beauty, swimming or why not take a cruise on Seneca Lake or Cayuga Lake or visit the Red Newt Winery in Hector which not only has stunning wines created by David Whiting but also offers some of the finest cuisine available in the region, expertly prepared and all dishes served at affordable prices?
There are also several first class golf courses nearby including the Seneca Lake Country Club where you can also rent golf equipment.
For a change of pace, why not take a day out to visit Niagara Falls, which is only a short 1-½ hour drive away or to Sodus Bay which is on lake Ontario and takes just a 40 minute drive. So little time yet so much to do and that’s’ just in the spring and summer! During the fall and through the winter the experience continues with the spectacular scenery of changing colors of Autumn leaves on the trees, the harvest of crops and grapes for wine production, Halloween and Pre Christmas shopping and when the snow finally arrives, Skiing, tobogganing, sleigh rides or snow mobiles. And all of this, just a taste of the Finger Lakes Experience!

“A wonderful resort!â€
This resort is perfectly situated for those who are interested in doing a Finger Lakes wine tour. We stayed for two nights and it was wonderful. Close to many wineries, and the owners were very friendly and helpful! Excellent pricing in comparison to the hotels/motels in the region.

“7 women from valatie,nyâ€
Enjoyed a beautiful weekend in the Fingar Lakes at Cobtree. We were seven women and the accomodations were perfect. Our hosts met our every need and gave us information as to "what to do". The cabin was very clean and we loved sitting on the front porch. Looking forward to a return visit.
“Can't wait to go back!â€
We are so happy that we chose to stay at Cobtree during our visit to Geneva and the finger lakes region. We travel with our dog so it was important for us to stay somewhere that she would be welcome. Our hosts Robert and Jane were absolutely wonderful, Robert gave us excellent tips on where to dine, hike and wine
