Description from owner

My parents and I run "Villa Il Paradisino", a XV century Historic House situated in Tuscany,Italy, just outside Florence city. It is part of a 5 hectares estate which includes a XVI century Villa where the family lives since 1839. In the 2004 the Villa has been completely and lovingly restored and opened to all the guests that would like to see, live and participate in our life, visit Florence and the beautiful country villages of Tuscany.

Life at Villa Il Paradisino is unhurried , filled with the scents, flavors and furnishings of a past that is still alive.

We are a family friendly hotel and pet friendly also.

We are very happy to have children at the Villa and they will be safe in asny part of the estate; all the land around the villa is fenced.

The villa is surrounded by rows of grapes and olive trees, interspersed with centuries-old vegetation: ancient species of fruit trees, vegetable garden, flower gardens and meadows. Our farm produces extra virgin olive oil, red wine, organic vegetable, eggs, fruit, jams and other home made products available for our guests.

The complex is furnished with original Tuscan antiques and ceramics owned by our family for generations .

We rent 5 apartments, elegant and spacious, which contain modern conveniences. The pastel wall colors, the four-poster bed and the ancient terracotta floor tiles, contribute to creating a special atmosphere and warmth in the rooms. Bathrooms and Kitchen are furnished with authentic Carrara and other Tuscan marbles and other natural materials in splendid colors.

There is a laundry room in common use and 3 apartments have a private area outside with garden and courtyard. Chairs, deckchairs, barbecue, beach umbrellas and tables are available to enjoy the garden and the pool, having dinner or simply relaxation.

“Loved our stay!”

Reviewed 24 Oct 2016

We had a lovely time at this beautiful Tuscany Villa. We especially liked the dinner that was prepared for us by some guests that took the tasty cooking class. Serena was a gracious host and was attentive to all our needs. She helped us with day trips throughout the Tuscany region and how to navigate the rail system, which was a very convenient ride from the property. We really enjoyed pizza night too! Each type of pizza was better than the previous one.

Owner's reply: Joanne, Grazie mille for your kind words! So happy to read you enjoy our time with us and especailly meals:). We looove cooking and give special tastings to our guests!!!! We hope to seeing you again. a big hug to you and your family, Costanza, Serena and family

“A little bit of Paradise!”

We had a wonderful experience at Il Paradisino! Serena and Costanza couldn't have been more warm and welcoming - Grazie molte...chi manchi! Our apartment was perfectly charming and very comfortable. The villa property is a little gem in the midst of the town. It is located near the train station (a short 15 min walk) and many lovely restaurants and cafes. When you stay at the villa, be sure to take part in the dinners that are offered (il cibo e delizioso) and walk around the lovely grounds to enjoy the serenity! We highly recommend Il Paradisino and can't wait to visit again!

Owner's reply: Buongiorno Mary Anne, Thank you so much for your wonderful words. we are so happy that you enjoyed yoru days at Villa Il Paradisino. We miss you as well and look very much forward to welcoming you again:) Big big hug, Costanza and family

“Charming home away from home”

Reviewed 15 Aug 2016

We arrived at this charming villa after a day of driving and sight seeing. Serena greeted us upon our arrival and we instantly loved her. We chatted a bit and then she showed us our villa. It was perfect and exactly what I was looking for. All of us loved it. We were travelling with 2 children ages 14 and 10. Our villa had fresh flowers placed in all of the rooms and it was very clean. Serena took the time to tell us about a few places we should go see the next day and told us a bit about the history of their property. Her sister Costanza came out to greet us as well. The property is lovely to walk around in. It is very peaceful and serene. Our children enjoyed swimming in the pool and eating the fresh fruit they put out each morning for their guests. If I ever return to the Tuscany area I would without a doubt stay here again. Everyone was so accommodating and they treated you like family. Definitely a must if you ever have the chance to visit here.

Owner's reply: Dear Carry, Thank you very very much for your wonderful words!! We are very very happy to read that you had a nice time at the Villa and that you would love to be back and stay with us. We loved to meet you and your family. Please come back!!! Wishing you all the best, a big hug Costanza and Serena

“Warm, welcoming, delicious, beautiful”

My partner and I stayed here for four nights and it was the highlight of our trip to Italy. Meeting Serena and Laura made us immediately feel welcomed. Dinner was scrumptious! Serena's tour of the villa was amazing. She humbly showed us their framed document signed by Napoleon and a centuries old ossuary. We brought hope the indescribably delicious olive oil, made by the Villa, to share. Serena and her family do everything to make your stay outstanding.

Owner's reply: Dear Laura, Thank you very much for your kind words. It make us feeling very happy to know that you have nice memories of your time at our house. We look forward to welcome you again, Kind Regards, Serena and Laura

“The photos online do not to this property justice”

This was our first visit to Toscana, and we happened across Villa il Paradisino online. We were fortunate to have done so. Our villa was beautiful; historic, yet with all the modern amenities, and perfectly situated for our exploration of this lovely region. Costanza and Selena and Laura were lovely hosts, helpful to new visitors with advice on good restaurants and strategies for seeing all there was to see. The train station was a 15 minute walk away, and just two stops and 3 euro away for the two of us to the main train station in Florence. Restaurants and shopping in Sesto were also just a few minutes walk away, as was morning coffee and afternoon wine. The Villa itself is loaded with fruit trees and vines, olive groves and other plants. We visited at harvest time and were encouraged to wander out and try the local produce grown on the estate. We enjoyed ourselves immensely at Villa il Paradisino, and plan to come back for another stay. We would encourage others to do so as well.

Owner's reply: Thank you very much dear guests! We are very happy to read that you had a nice time at the Villa. We look forward to welcome you again in the near future. Wishing you and your family all the best.

“Historic, beautiful and a great service.”

The moment you enter the grounds through the gate, you feel you are in paradise. The roses and blooming citrus trees made the air smell sweet and unforgettable. The main and guest villa is a true treasure. The rooms are decorated tastefully with family antiques. The service was excellent. I stayed in Torre apartment which is the 14 century tower with its original beams and floors. There are two flights of stairs to get to the main floor of the apartment so if you can't use too many steps than this may not be for you. The bedroom was on top floor, the kitchen and a bathroom one floor below. Lots of stairs. Overall my experience was great and I highly recommend the place. The only negative aspect of my stay was the sound of the roosters. There are chickens and roosters on the property. The roosters make laud noise in the middle of the night and again in the morning. I had to close the windows and shutters. It was my every night routine. I didn't get enough sleep. So if you're light sleeper than this my bother you too.

Owner's reply: Dear Grace, Thank you very much for your kind review. I'm sorry you were bother by the roosters. I have informed my father about your experience and we decided we'll have less roosters and more hens...so less romantic singing but more sleeping for our guests :) Thank you again for being our guest. Costanza

“Wonderful!”

Reviewed 14 May 2013

My family of eight (four 30-somethings, three 60-somethings, and a fifteen-month-old) recently spent a week at Villa il Paradisino. Constanza and Serena are completely deserving of all the glowing reviews they've received here. This spot truly is a little bit of paradise. Even before we arrived, our every question was answered kindly and promptly. Constanza worked with us to set a few activities to enjoy during our stay (don't miss Constanza's cooking class or a tour with Michelangelo) and sent elaborate advice and instructions regarding our travel plans. On the day of our arrival, I felt like I had come to the home of some distant relatives. Constanza and Serena greeted us so warmly, and our rooms were set up with all the comforts of home (if home was a gorgeously remodeled 16th-century estate). As I was traveling with my toddler son, I was nervous about having all the equipment a boy his age needs. I needn't have worried. A comfortable crib for him was already set up in our bedroom. We used three different high chairs during our stay: one in our apartment, one that appeared seemingly out of nowhere the evening we decided to eat dinner on the patio, and one that was waiting for us during the two meals we ate in the main house. On the day the whole family was scheduled to take a private tour to the Chianti wine region, our excellent guide accidentally arrived without a car seat. Not to worry, Constanza and Serena had one in the office for us to use. We stayed in Melograno, Loggetta, and Torre. All the rooms looked like movie sets and were comfortably appointed with crisp linens and beautiful fresh flowers from the property. Every room was beautifully furnished with antiques, but felt comfortable and lived in--not like a museum. The bathroom in Loggetta was definitely the largest/nicest bathroom I've ever seen in any of my travels in Europe. This is a wonderful location if you'd like the Italian villa experience without having to rent a car. The train station is a leisurely 10-15 minute walk away, and from there it's only another 10-15 minutes on the train into Florence. From the villa, you can also easily walk to a grocery store, a few restaurants, gelato, shopping, etc. If you're like me, though, you'll find that the nicest way to spend a day here is reading a book in the garden, chasing the cat around the yard with your son, or drinking a glass of wine with your loved ones on the patio. I hope very much that I will return

Owner's reply: Dear Anissa, thank you so much for your words. They touch my heart. I'm very happy you have such a wonderful memory of the time you spent at our home. Thank you for bringing your family at the Villa and to contribute to our dream to keep the property in the family for more generation to come. We very much hope to see you all soon to spend more time together. A big big hug to all of you and many beautiful things for the future of your son

“Paradise indeed”

Reviewed 11 Oct 2012

Costanza and her family couldn't have been nicer. Initially we were a little disappointed to find the Villa was in a large town but after a few days we realised we had the best of both worlds. Tuscany and Florence at our doorstep, ho hum which to choose. The train to Florence took 11 minutes and Chianti took 45 minutes by car. It was a truly magnificant 6 days.

Owner's reply: Grazie mille Juliet for your your visit and for your so kind words! We hope very much you will be back one day!!!

The apartment we rented was a good size and very comfortable. Costanza and her family are welcoming and warm and truly want you to have a great experience at their Villa and in their town. All recommendations that were made were top notch. The kids already miss their Tuscany vacation home - we highly recommend this location for anyone wanting to have a fantastic vacation.
