“Nothing better than a morning kayak outing”

Reviewed 14 Aug 2016

After months of wedding planning and a great event the weekend before, this was a great place to just kick back and relax. Having sent our daughter on her honeymoon the rest of the family and 3 grandkids needed a place to relax and review the wedding events. this is a great location, close to restaurants and grocery stores, Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts. Central to Washington DC, Baltimore and Annapolis, we hit them all. The house it self was spacious and had just about everything we needed. Keurig coffee maker if someone didn't want to make the Starbucks\donut run after our morning Kayak outing. Then what fun did the grandkids have with the crab traps, fishing etc. Only issue was the early arrival of the sea nettles this year, but that didn't spoil our fun the kids still enjoyed the beach area, dock etc. . There is a great Giant food store nearby, which supplied the fixing for a great crab cake and steak filet dinner from the new Weber grill. I could go on and on but I would suggest you check it out yourself, contact the owner and make a reservation she could not have been any more helpful. looking forward to finding a reason to head back to the Chesapeake Bay area.

The pictures DO NOT DO this home justice. This weekend was nothing short of a chapter from a picturesque page of a Mark Twain novel. From driving through the narrow roads of the neighborhood as kids play along side the street. I saw tire swings hang from what felt like every home lawn, people smiled and waved as we drove in, welcoming us...I knew it was going to be a special weekend. I'll never forget the early morning paddle boarding and kayaking. Stare gazing on the docks. Building sandcastles with my nieces on the private beach. Catching fresh crabs. Running through the sprinklers. Game night in the warm inviting living room. One night we watched the summer rain fall on the river and even that was magical. Jeanie the owner was so helpful and extremely friendly. It was just a perfect weekend that my family that we will never forget. We hope to make this a tradition. Enjoy Severn!
