Black Bear Crossing is a perfect place for that family vacation or a romantic get-a-way. You will not be able to beat the incredible mountain view of the Great Smoky Mountains and the city lights of Pigeon Forge. We looked at a lot of cabins, but when we found this one, that was it. Grab a cup of coffee in the morning, sit outside on the bench and watch the sunrise or in the private hot tub with a glass of wine facing these majestic mountains. The vaulted great room features a wood burning stone masonry fireplace, new furniture and a satellite TV with DVD. There is a full sized fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, blender and hand mixer, also plenty of pots, pans and dishes for you to prepare a home-cooked meal. The cabin is also equipped with a pool table and many assorted games and toys. The enclosed bedroom offers you a queen size bed and the loft a king size with pillow top mattress and a futon.

“Just Gorgeous!”

Reviewed 15 Oct 2016

Situated atop Bluff mountain is this newer charming log cabin adorned with adorable black bear decor with breath taking views of the smokies. Wrap around covered porch/deck with sweet swinging chair on one corner and steaming hot tub on other. Patio set for 4 was perfect for out door breakfast or dinner or even late night star gazing. BBQ on side. (Requires charcoal.) Inside is warm and welcoming with open concept high vaulted ceiling. First floor has a queen bedroom and bathroom with a cozy dinning area and full kitchen. Irresistible charming family gathering room boasting a natural fireplace. (Bring wood) High ceiling fan and flat screen TV with satellite and WiFi. Stairs along the side leading to a large bedroom loft with king bed with ceiling fan and private bath off to side. Billiard table in front open concept overlooking the magnificent view through ceiling to floor large peaked window and overlooking lower level. Impeccably clean and beautifully furnished. The natural scent of wood was very calming. Cabins scattered about but far enough away to give you privacy and seclusion. Busy Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg are not terribly far away. The road leading to the cabin is very steep. Recomend 4- wheel drive vehicle. Waking up each morning to the sun rising over the mountain range was too beautiful for words while sipping hot coffee on the double swing. The woodsy surroundings are nature at it's best. This place is definetly a hidden gem! Great booking experience with prompt, friendly and great communication with owners answering emails or calls right away. I will definitely be coming back to this cabin! It was hard to leave on our last day. If your looking for a real mountain experience that is comfortable and exhilarating all in one that this is it! Plenty of activities all around the area. The Great Smokey Mountains National Park is close by with so many things to discover including Cades Cove and Laurel Falls close to name a few. A weekend will not do it justice, you'll want at least a week to absorb it all but if thats all you have then go for it! All you need is food, drink, toiletries and a good camera for the view because you will want to capture the beauty. I will definitely treasure the memories that were made here! Thank you Myer family for a great experience I soon won't forget! ❤

“Black Bear Crossing MLK Weekend 2016”

Black Bear Crossing was a great cabin and had everything I could ever imagine. The view was spectacular and it seemed as though you had the entire mountain top to yourself. The drive up was a little scary but totally worth it. The cabin was beautiful and had a great loft and comfortable beds. Very cozy and comfortable cabin.

“Awesome cabin”

The cabin is beautiful, clean and what an amazing view. The drive up was a little scary for me, but hey, it's a mountain cabin and very much worth the drive up. I totally miss it and hope to stay there again soon.

“Just what we needed”

My husband and I had planned on staying at the cabin for all of Labor Day weekend going up on Friday night. As it turned out, we experienced a number of set-backs and tragedies in the days leading up to our trip. On Saturday, we decided to just head for the mountains and leave our troubles behind. We could not have asked for a better place to do so. Black Bear Crossing was the perfect place to unwind and take in the amazing views. There was simply nothing to worry about here. Everything was right where it should be and we couldn't have had a more enjoyable two days. The porch views are really all one needs but the well appointed kitchen, beautiful loaf - with pool table and views galore - and very comfy bed made the cabin perfect. While the drive to the top of the mountain is certainly an adventure (it's about a mile straight up) it was well worth it. Thank you so much for the opportunity to vacation in such an idyllic setting.

Owner's reply: If you want the view, you have to go up! Thank You!

As everyone else said, this cabin is exactly as pictured and a terrific experience. A few notes on some things I don't see mentioned in other reviews: * A/C keeps the place nice and cool. * Water pressure and hot water capacity supported using both showers simultaneously. * Nearly full LTE signal anywhere on the property with both AT&T and Verizon devices. * The Waze GPS app on my iPhone mirrored Gabi's directions perfectly. * The setting is very quiet and private even though there are cabins nearby. * Great view of Dollywood's fireworks from the porch. We had a fantastic week and hope to come back sometime in the future. Thanks for everything Gabi!

“Began rocky, but turned out great!”

Upon arrival we could not make it into the driveway due to the 2 ft of snow that had accumulated in it. My husband was able to get a dust pan and shovel out enough to get in after about an hour. During this time I went into the home to look around and found that it had not been cleaned. I called, and Gabi had the cleaners there in an hour, as well as offered to refund our cleaning fee. By 10:00 pm, our vacation finally began. We were disappointed that the hot tub had not been cleaned, one of the reasons we rented, a raccoon turned over a trash can full of trash from the former guests that we had to clean up, and the iron didn't work. Too, there is no cable to the loft bedroom. It is a GORGEOUS view and cabin otherwise. This was my belated birthday gift, which left me a little disheartened. I know as a rentor myself, that there are things not in your control, but nonetheless, we were disappointed as we have never encountered any of this in other rentals.

Owner's reply: There is always a first time and the cleaners forgot the first time to clean the cabin. I hope you happy with your $100.00 reimbursement. Gabi Myer

“Very Cozy Cabin with a Gorgeous Scenery!”

Reviewed 26 Feb 2015

This was the best cabin we've stayed in. It was very clean and cozy. The view is something everyone needs to experience. You are high above the clouds, in a very private, peaceful and quiet location. We needed a little getaway from the fast lane in life and just wanted somewhere to go to relax and we sure found it. Every evening we sat out in the hot tub that over looked the mountains and then came in and snuggled up in front of the warm fireplace. It doesn't get anymore peaceful than this. I highly recommend staying here and I cannot wait to return.

Owner's reply: Thank You, it was a pleasure serving You, Gabi Myer

We stayed at Black Bear Crossing from October 31st, 2014-November 4th, 2014 and it was amazing, about an hour after we arrived Friday night it started snowing and snowed through mid morning Saturday, the scenery off the deck was amazing. The sunrise over the mountains off the deck were astounding, I would recommend this cabin to anyone and I will definitely stay here again. The road up to the cabin was scary Friday night because it is so steep but after coming down it on Sunday it was a piece of cake the rest of my stay. There is nothing I could say to prepare u for the road up to the cabin except don't let it keep you from staying.

“Nearly Perfect”

What a wonderful place to call home if only for 5 days. Beautiful, comfortable cabin, and caring owners. The first trip up that hill was a bit nerve racking... but after that it was easy. Close to everything yet private, just a great place to relax in the hot tub and enjoy the view. Sunrise from the porch swing was our favorite way to start our day. One day of rain, in an otherwise perfect week. Looking forward to returning another year.

Owner's reply: Looking forward to serve you again!
