Located on a very high mountain, but the 1st cabin as you go up; so it's high enough for a nice view, but not high enough to have to worry too much about narrow curving roads. There are no other cabins in the immediate vicinity so you have all the privacy you need. For the more adventurious, you can hike up the mountain behind the chalet.
After the hike, return to the chalet & relax in the hot tub outside or jetted whirlpool tub inside. You may also enjoy relaxing in the rocking chairs on swing on the screend porch. In the winter, watch cable TV or movies (provided) and relax in front of the wood burning fireplace. The porch (8' x 38') is also a favorite for pets who can enjoy being outside without your worrying about them running off or being attacked by other animals.
While in the cabin, you can also enjoy playing pool or air hockey. The cabin also has wireless high speed internet and cable TV in both bedrooms and in the living room.
The hot tub is off the end of the porch which is on the main floor. Inside is a great room with kitchen, dining area, and fireplace. There are also 2 queen size beds downstairs along with a full bathroom which has a jetted tub.
Upstairs has a king size bed in the bedroom and a full bathroom. The pool table is also upstairs in the loft area in the front of the house.
The parkway is also about 5-10 mintues away & features some outstanding restaurants and a variety of great shows ranging from magic shows to hands on activities for the kids and of course country music. There's also a great wax museum and life sized reproduction of the Titantic with a museum inside.
Other entertainment includes zip-lines, hot air baloon rides, helicopter rides, horseback riding, and white water rafting. Lake Douglas is nearby for fishing and other water sports.
Gatlingburg is about 20-30 mintues away and offers snow skiing and other winter sports in the winter. It also has several Ripley attractions including Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum and a fantastic aquarium.
Of course, the major area attraction is the fantastic mountain views which are all around. The Smoky Mountain National Park is one of the few (maybe the only) national park that can not charge admission. It is located about 15-20 minutes from the cabin & offers numerous hiking trails and spectacular scenery.

I am a single mom of three kids, ages 7, 12, and 15, so I was a little apprehensive at first renting a cabin instead of doing the typical hotel. I had nothing to worry about! The owner, Andy, was extremely helpful from the start! He emailed me with tips as well as suggestions on things to do. When I got there, everything was nice and clean. The faucet wasn't working real well in the downstairs bathtub, but it was still doable for my two younger kids to take a whirlpool bath, which they thought was awesome! Everything was stocked, I just brought food for the kitchen. We spend time playing pool, sitting on the porch, and hanging out in the hot tub. I only had to call Andy once and it was just to ask a quick question. I left a message and he responded within minutes. The kids and I were very happy with our stay...Thank you!!
