Great Vacation

August 9, 2013

We had a wonderful time at this lake house. After trying to plan a family vacation for several years, these accommodations suited us perfectly. Our group consisted of 6 adults and 4 children. There was plenty of room to sleep and the garage was an extra bonus on the random rainy days. There were plenty of activities on the premises to keep us busy, such as horse shoes, water tubes and kayaks. The lake was shallow enough for our three year old to play and deep enough for our 13 year old to enjoy, too. If there was one possible gripe, it would be having to remove your own garbage and transport it to the dump. So, if you're looking for a fun-filled, serene vacation for all have just found it.

Beautiful beach, house w/everything, great owners

May 8, 2011

This is a super spot on a lovely spring fed lake, unusually warm for Maine because it has a sandy bottom so its great for swimming. And this place has its own private beach. Cool! Silver Lake is ringed by the foothills of the western mountains of Maine and there's some great short hikes in the area, local farms, orchards and two great coffee shops within easy driving distance. The "corner store" has fresh muffins in the morning and all the basics as well as gas (at a reasonable price) and ice. You can enjoy your morning cup on the upper deck off the master suite listening for loons and your evening cocktail on the lower deck watching the kids roast marshmallows in the fire pit. The homeowners have thought of everything and the house is clean, comfortable, and freshly decorated with modern appliances. We couldn't have been happier!
