Nestled in the heart of this great city and just minutes from Hollywood, Downtown L.A., Burbank, Universal City and West Hollywood, lays this classic nineteen thirties Spanish Mediterranean second story one bedroom apartment featuring a large living room, dining room/office, bedroom, kitchen and great airy views of Griffith Park Observatory. And it's just minutes to L.A.'s best bars, restaurants, nightlife, coffee shops, and the amazing reservoir, the heart of this great neighborhood. This home will give you an authentic flavor of life here in this special community. Silverlake has been a magnet to creative people for decades. Artists, film makers, musicians and architects have been drawn to this almost bucolic setting, lush hillside homes around a lake in the middle of this huge and vital city. The house is in the absolute heart of this community, just 3 blocks from the lake with its popular jogging path and the beloved Silverlake meadow.
Inside the apartment, you'll find everything you need to make your stay in L.A. movie star ready. The unit features all of the amenities of a fine hotel plus a fully appointed kitchen with top appliances and everything you need for fine cooking and baking. Tastefully decorated with a blend of mid-century and classic mission style furniture, the abode is a place to entertain, work and unwind. The living room boasts a flat screen television with Apple TV, HBO, Showtime and Netflix.
There is a comfortable desk for your computer and Wi-Fi.
The bedroom hosts a Tempur-Pedic queen size mattress with top grade 400 count cotton linens.
There are lots of closets, far more than you will need. The back door opens to an exterior porch area with bistro seating where you can grill, enjoy your morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. And there is a washer and dryer in the unit.

This is a NEW LISTING, I live in a separate back house on the property but I am invisible, unless an issue should arise, then I can respond quickly with solutions.

I am open to longer rentals as well and I will happily negotiate discounts for extended stays.

The house is registered for Transient Occupancy with the City of Los Angeles and thus I am required to charge (and pay to the city) a 14% Transient Occupancy Tax for all rentals under 30 days. If you stay longer than 30 days, we do not have to pay the tax.

Area Information
There are great walks here on the many step streets of Silverlake and easy walking access to the reservoir. Mix with the local color, have a picnic in the meadow, fly a kite, become a part of this dynamic community. Wonderful shops, restaurants, bars, clubs, music venues, galleries and all the other attributes of an artistic enclave are abundant and easily accessible from the apartment, many by foot or a just a short drive. Just around the corner you you'll find a few of Silver Lake's trendiest spots, Moby?s new vegan restaurant Little Pine, The Red Lion Tavern, SilverLake Wine, The Echo, Spaceland, Gingergrass, The Edendale Grill, Michelangelos, the list just goes on.
The apartment is right near 4 of the city's main arteries, the 5, 101, 110, and the 2 freeways are minutes away. So the entire city is easily accessible from here.

Head west on the 10 to the beaches of Santa Monica and Venice, or you can hop the 2 west to Pasadena and enjoy a day in old town and the gorgeous Huntington Gardens and the Norton Simon museum (many Van Goghs, and a Raphael). If you're here for work you can hop the 5 to Universal, Warner Brothers, Disney and Dreamworks, all a short 10 minute drive. Or take surface streets to the Paramount lot, a 10 minute drive. Downtown is even closer. Enjoy the LA Philharmonic at the Frank Gehry designed Walt Disney Concert Hall, the new Broad Museum, an opera at the Dorothy Chandler, a play or musical at the Mark Taper, a concert at the Staples Center or Microsoft Theatre at LA live. Hit MOMA, or LACMA. It's all nearby, Silverlake really is the perfect central location to visit all of LA. And my place offers serene and functional comfort, a perfect home base for your visit.
