Description from owner

Our Black Butte home has 3 sleeping areas: 2 downstairs bedrooms and a large sleeping and play area upstairs for the children. Home is nicely furnished for one family or suitable for two smaller families. It is nicely-situated on a good-sized lot with circular driveway in quiet cul-de-sac close to Big Meadow. Peek-a-boo views exist from different locations on deck. Living area has very high, vaulted ceilings with windows framed for view of the tip of Black Butte Mountain. Situated walking distance to South Meadow pool and tennis courts (few hundred meters), biking distance to the new Glaze Meadow Sports Complex and not far from the main Ranch entrance. This location, SM44, offers privacy and quiet while making trips to the country store or into the nearby Western-themed town of Sisters quick and easy.

BBQ ( a little wimpy but it gets the job done) on deck with large lot and small grassy area. Besides its great location, favorite features are the big roaring fireplace, dual-headed shower, all-wood interior walls (no plaster or sheet rock anywhere) and nice furnishings. Very clean and "cabiny" feeling. You won't find any avocado green or harvest gold appliances.

For seniors, the two bedrooms downstairs and bath do not require any stairs or stair climbing during your visit. Also, we have had several guests who have children with severe allergies that have had a great time at the cabin!

We know you'll enjoy your stay in Central Oregon at Black Butte Ranch.

Please note:

*Upstairs 3rd sleeping area is 'open/loft' style, not an actual bedroom.

**Months of July & August have minimum weekly stay requirements. If exception granted, standard rate is $225-$275 nightly.

“Great for family with young kids!”

Reviewed 31 Aug 2016

We very much enjoyed our stay at this cabin. My 3 and 5 year olds absolutely LOVED the upstairs loft with all the toys/stuffed animals available for their use. Great location, walking distance to South Meadow pool and a short drive or ride to Glaze Meadow. The cabin had everything we needed and more!

Owner's reply: We are humbled when folks take time to write a positive review about their experience at the cabin. Thank you! For our family, this special home has been an "anchor to America" while we lived in Europe, full-time residence upon our return, and most recently a great retreat for us we've been able to share with others. The cabin's original builder children contacted us recently and are interested in buying. The bunk beds are still in use they slept in at 3 years of age. Legacy continues!

“Black Butte Cabin”

Reviewed 18 Jul 2016

We had an amazing time! Cabin was adorable and cozy. Super clean and had everything we needed. Kids enjoyed the loft area, bed was super comfortable for us... Perfect cabin and a perfect vacation!

Owner's reply: Thanks for the rave review, Julieanne! So glad to hear that your family had a great visit at the cabin. It's always nice to hear that but even more meaningful coming from someone like you who has stayed at BBR multiple times and have several other experiences with which to compare us. Come again and all the best to you, your family, and your 3 children! Robert & Kathleen

“Rustic Vibe, but Super Clean and Comfortable”

Reviewed 30 Mar 2016

We were able to reserve this cabin at the last minute, and feel so fortunate to have done so. We absolutely the cabin! Hard to believe that it was even much nicer in person than in the online pictures. This is now our go-to cabin for BBR (and we've rented a couple of other places). Part of its appeal for me was the fact that my daughter has pretty severe allergies and she had no issues whatsoever at the cabin. But the location is so central to the areas of BBR that I love--by the South Meadow pool/tennis courts (though the pool is closed until summertime) and right near the giant meadow for long walks in the morning and early evening. I can't wait to rent it again this summer! Thanks Robert, for letting us enjoy such a wonderful getaway and for being so helpful with the reservation process.

Owner's reply: Thanks Ginny. It was nice getting to know you over the phone during your rental process! We look forward to having you back anytime and greatly appreciate that you left things so nice and tidy. Please come again. All the best! Robert and Kathleen

“Perfect for our getaway”

Reviewed 17 Feb 2016

Robert's cabin was a great getaway for me and my daughter and a few of her friends. the cabin was plenty large enough to accommodate another couple. I had a really comfortable bed and the kids had the loft to themselves. We had a nice fire in the fireplace and everything we needed to cook good meals. Although it wasn't deck weather, we spent a little time out there looking at the stars. tHank you Robert for a comfortable stay!

Owner's reply: Sheila, So happy to hear that you enjoyed it! You're right, kids love the upstairs loft. Thanks for the glowing review... Come back anytime. Robert PS: The fireplace is one of our family's favorite things about the cabin during winter visits as well!

We had a great time, very clean and comfortable. We will definitely return with bikes next time in place of skis! Great space for kids too.

Owner's reply: So glad that you had a great time and thanks for the rave 5-star review! Glad there was plenty of snow for your x-country ski adventure(s). We look forward to having you again during summer months with your bikes. Robert and Kathleen PS: Thanks for leaving everything so tidy and in good order when you departed.

“Perfect family retreat”

The cabin is in a great location within BBR and is set up perfectly for a family with young children. Our family of six loved every minute and we hope to go back in the summer.

We really enjoyed our time in this cabin in the woods. We had some wonderful family times together. The cabin provided all that we needed for our comfort and convenience.

Owner's reply: Thanks for the 5 Star Review Robin! It was a pleasure working with you preparing for you and your family to stay at our cabin. Come back any time. Glad that you all loved it as much as we do! Robert

“Great place to stay while going in and out of Bend”

Reviewed 25 May 2015

We had boys that where playing in a Little League baseball tournament over Memorial weekend in Bend. It was a great place to stay away from it all. On some of our down times we had plenty to do. The cabin was comfey and well appointed. We realIy enjoyed the rustic feel and it really had everything we needed. The only downside was that we had to take our garbage for a car ride. We had to leave Black Butte and take it down access round to the recycling center. Kinda a bummer. We will stay again. In fact want to get this rates for some days in August.

Owner's reply: Thanks Melissa! Glad you loved the place like we do and happy to have you return again. Thanks for leaving everything in order. 😃 Our family usually coordinates dropping trash at facility whenever we head into town or visit the Fiddleneck Gate end of The Ranch. I get it that it's not always 100% convenient, but can be fun... Unfortunately,, raccoons prevent us from having an outdoor garbage can. Gotta love nature when visiting the cabin! 😃 Thanks again!

“Absolutely charming!”

This was a perfect weekend getaway! We found this quaint cabin to be exactly what our 2 families of 4 needed while attending a beautiful wedding at the ranch! Thanks so much for allowing us to stay in your great home!

“A Place of Refuge”

Reviewed 23 Jul 2014

We were excited to find a place to stay with our last minute decision to get out of town for a few days. Most places were booked and then I found this one, and we were pleasantly surprised at how great this place was. It felt like a cabin getaway for us. Great home in a great location! The loft area in this home would be perfect for younger children...if we had brought some. Our kids were older and slept downstairs, but such a great loft area...perfect for families with young kids. We loved the A-frame of the house and the deck off the back. I must admit, I spend most of my time when we were at the house, on the back deck. It was so peaceful and relaxing out there. We BBQed and used the bikes the owners had, in addition to the bikes we brought. We walked to the pool, which was very convenient!! We love being outdoors, so we golfed at Glaze Meadow, biked all over Black Butte, saw deer everywhere, swam, played tennis...yeah, it was a wonderful time away. The owners were wonderful and very helpful with this last minute booking. We couldn't of been happier! Thanks for letting us use your home!

Owner's reply: Penny, glad you enjoyed it as much as we do...thanks for the rave review!!! You were a joy to work with. PS: To everyone reading, bikes are not included with the rental. LOL ; )

This home was used primarily as our personal, vacation retreat before we decided to share it with others for rent...it is exceptionally clean and not your typical vacation rental. Hope we have thought of everything for your enjoyment, but if we've forgotten please bear with us as we learn the process.
