Beautiful Island Retreat

This is certainly a beautiful home with breathtaking views. Every morning, we enjoyed our coffee on the deck overlooking the bay. It was a treat to watch the osprey diving for their breakfast in the waters below. Gorgeous location! And the house itself has many interesting architectural elements. Clean, functional and stunning! And the owners and caretaker were all very gracious and informative. This is rugged Maine as seen from a luxurious hilltop platform. The location is quite remote. However, it did give us quicker access to the Schoodic Peninsula, which is a beautiful section of Acadia that is probably often overlooked. This location seems ideal for those who are looking for a restful retreat. Those looking to get away from it all will appreciate this quiet commune with nature. We had 3 teenagers with us who probably would have appreciated being a little closer to the bustle of Bar Harbor. The idea of staying on an island intrigued me and I was looking forward to getting out and exploring it. Not a good location for people with disabilities, the very young or the very old. Our teenagers (actually the adults too) would also have liked a bigger television. A couple of nights we chose to stay home after dinner and watch a little TV. Unfortunately, the only TV is maybe 16" and gets about 4 channels. There was a DVD player, bring your own movies, I'm not sure where you would rent any. Overall, this was a beautiful and interesting location and home. A wonderful experience for those looking to enjoy the rugged natural beauty of Maine.

This home has everything. Views that will take your breath away. Secluded private setting, yet just minutes from the Ellsworth (shopping) and a short distance to Acadia National Park (there is a ferry that is even faster than driving and quite fun!). Excellent dining in the area. Sorrento is a small village with a wonderful harbor. A great place to stroll or bike. This rental has fabulous upscale amenities. An association dock, great beach, chef's kitchen, granite, luxurious baths, bamboo floors, tile foyer, lovely asian accents and wonderful furnishings. An ocean view from every room! We can't wait to come to Maine again and the little piece of paradise they call Treasure Island and the magical seacoast village of Sorrento. Morning coffee on the deck is a great way to plan your day in Maine! I would not recommend this property for families with young children. Very clean and well-maintained. I would highly recommend this property to my friends and family!
