Description from owner

Welcome to your dream home for an unforgettable stay on St Lucia!

"Villa Grand Piton" is the ideal place for your honeymoon, anniversary or vacation – a beautiful, private home located on sunny St Lucia in the idyllic Soufriere region. Imagine a romantic, tranquil, spacious villa, high on the ridge of a hill overlooking the Caribbean, with views most people will only see on postcards. Start your day watching the sailboats glide along the sea under a rainbow, while sipping a cup of smooth local coffee. Float in the cool and sparkling swimming pool, surrounded by cashew trees and brilliant bougainvillea. Dine on delicious freshly-caught fish outside in the shaded gazebo as the sun sets over the Caribbean, caressed by cool breezes. Marvel at the most stars you have ever seen after dinner, sipping a glass of wine or homemade rum punch while being cooled by the mountain breeze that gently rustles the leaves. Sleep soundly, on pillow-top queen beds in bedrooms with air-conditioning. Spacious bedrooms, en-suite bathrooms, a full kitchen and an entertainment room provide everything you want for the holiday of a lifetime! And if you need something else, our friendly staff is there around-the-clock to help you - whether it is advice on the best time to climb the Piton or just to find you a new toothbrush if you forget to bring yours.

Villa Grand Piton enjoys an ideal location, enjoying the same jaw-dropping view of the Pitons and the Caribbean as Jade Mountain and Anse Chastanet resorts. You will be just a few minutes' drive away from beaches, restaurants, and activities, but far enough up the hill that you'll feel that you are at the top of the world, away from it all. We are a 10-minute drive from Action Adventure Divers on Hummingbird Beach or Scuba St Lucia on Anse Chastanet beach, and we are only a 25-minute drive away from the starting point to climb Gros Piton.

Additional important information about Villa Grand Piton:

* Our home is a non-smoking villa. NO smoking anywhere in the villa or on the grounds.

* The villa and grounds pose inherent dangers for young children. As safety is a high priority with us, please talk with us to understand our concerns before booking if you have children under 13 in your party.

* The villa is not available for rent without the staff.

* The villa is built in the open-architecture style of most Caribbean residences. This style emphasizes harmony with the outdoors, and does not try to create an impenetrable barrier between the interior and exterior . Doors are not weather-stripped, windows are only covered by screens (not covered by glass), and the buildings often have other openings to allow free airflow, allowing insects and geckos into these houses. Our beds and the Jacuzzi all have mosquito nets, and we have an outdoor mosquito-control machine to help keep the mosquito population down.

* We do require a signed (electronic signature) rental agreement, which will be provided upon your request to book the villa.

About the area

St Lucia is special, even for the Caribbean. Unlike a lot of the islands in the Caribbean which are just big sandbars in the ocean, the island is gorgeous - lush tropical rainforests, mountains, waterfalls, secluded beaches and clear waters. And the people are genuinely friendly and warm - not just polite like some other places. Give a St Lucian a big smile and a warm hello, and you'll have a new friend! Life in St Lucia is a little slower - everyone takes time to appreciate the beautiful weather and the stunning views. And the Soufriere area is the area most blessed of all with natural beauty - the Pitons are awe-inspiring, the reefs are abundant, the drive-in volcano is unique, and there are waterfalls and gardens all around. Our "little piece of Paradise" sits high on a hill overlooking the Pitons and the Caribbean, so every day spent in Villa Grand Piton is a chance to wake up and enjoy the sunrise while listening to the birds and watching the sailboats on the water, and every evening is a time to enjoy the sun set over the Caribbean, then count the bright stars in the sky. (There's very little light pollution here - you will be amazed at the brilliance of the stars when they don't compete with artificial lights.) At night, it is incredibly serene, with just the "night music" of Mother Nature to lull you to sleep.

We are seasoned travelers that work hard and seek only the finest for our getaways. We splurge for memories. First time to St. Lucia and Villa Grand Piton WILL NOT DISAPPOINT. First, everywhere on St. Lucia requires a walk to the beach--why not first enjoy a private pool with THE MOST AMAZING view of the pitons AND cocktails and snacks from your well appointed kitchen, gaze for a bit out at the ships criss-crossing the sea before strolling down the hill to the THE BEST SNORKELING BEACH (anse chastenet) on the island. Sure, we could have booked a Jade room with a splash pool, BUT why not get a villa for less than half the price in the same location? This is a no-brainer. But--if I say more it will seem like I'm writing a paid advertisement--so let me suggest this--look at the all the photos, compare photos from the other villas, compare size, staff and amenities from Ladera, Jade and Sugar Beach,.... then decide. Bravo Loretta--well done! Thanks for helping to make this trip one for the memory books!

We had a wonderful stay at the Villa Grand Piton! It exceeded all expectations. The villa is situated at one of the highest points on the island and has the absolute picture-perfect Piton view. There is plenty of outdoor seating in both sun and shade to capitalize on the spectacular setting. The villa itself is large, beautifully maintained and stocked with everything you could possibly need. The staff (Doxie, John and Paul) was extremely accommodating and kept everything running smoothly. There was a generosity of spirit that extended thought the villa and in every interaction. Dealing with Loretta was a cinch, the welcome basket was incredibly bountiful and provided everything we needed for the first day or two. Taking advantage of the free taxi from the airport is highly recommended. We then had a car delivered to the house the next day by Drive -a -Matic. We did not find driving on the island to be too challenging except for the stretch of road right up to the villa. Going slowly and having a 4 WD made it very manageable. Given the spectacular setting , we did spend much of our time just relaxing at the villa. We bought fresh fish in town from a local fisherman, stocked up on fresh produce from some street vendors and ate wonderful meals in the gazebo watching the sun set and stars emerge. We are very frequent villa-renters and have travelled extensively. This villa stands out for its great setting, high standard and ease of rental. We have already recommended it to friends.

A little slice of HEAVEN here!

We absolutely LOVED Villa Grand Piton - although the hiking, restaurants, snorkeling and zip lines all sounded fun - we've done it all before ... and in the end, we chose not to tear ourselves away from the perfect villa, the perfect pool and the most heavenly view ever! THE most relaxing vacation my husband and I have ever taken. It was beautiful every day despite saying it might rain. And everything was top notch - Doxie, John and Paul were all so helpful. We did go down to Anse Chastenet to go snorkeling one day and it was lovely (gear is all there at the villa, along with suntan lotion and literally everything else you'd ever need!) - but after a few hours, we decided it was a lot nicer up at the villa, so back we went and never left again except to pick up food or drinks! Fabulous place and though I know there's lots to do all over St. Lucia - this place is the perfect place to completely relax and do nothing too. Can't wait to go back!

Paradise Found!

We could not have chosen a more magical island, setting or villa! We fell in love with it all, and your beautiful villa was such a spectacular place for us to stay. We simply couldn't believe how beautiful it all was, and those views, I don't honestly think you could find anything more beautiful, and ever changing. We were mesmerised by everything from the fisherman first thing, cloud formation over the Pitons, boats, Frigate birds to the sunset and evening sky beyond.....The villa is situated in an amazing location, not only for its views, but its proximity to all the resorts and restaurants, it's incredible how many different places there are nearby. We did manage to try most of them! Honestly what a holiday, what a place! You are so lucky!!! It is quite simply paradise! We already want to come back, well to be honest we never wanted to leave....! We even grew to love the crazy road! If you are going to get views like that, you need to climb a few hills don't you?!!! We hired a sailing boat for the afternoon, it was really special, saw literally hundreds of dolphins and snorkelled at Anse Cochon....what a way to spend an afternoon.....but the most incredible of all was to see your beautiful villa from the water. We knew the villa was high up, but it was only at sea that you get a full perspective of how high up it really is. Until that day we had no idea there were several villas beneath, or that the villas we thought were down by the sea level, were also so high up! Finally we understood why you get those panoramic 180 degree views! Villa Grand Piton soars in amongst the top of the hill, creating that spectacular view of ocean, sky and those glorious Pitons! It is worth every second of the drive to get to that setting! It also explained to us why it is so serenely peaceful at the villa, being the second to last villa on the road, no one ever goes past! One of our favourite times was sat late, just before bed listening to all those beautiful sounds....totally tranquility, and those amazing tiny little tree frogs...how does something so small, make such a beautiful sound? Your staff also deserve a huge mention, they are just lovely. Warm, friendly helpful, discreet and reassuring, you are so lucky to have them all and they were all so special in their own ways and it was such a luxury to have clean bedding and towels every 3 days! We wouldn't change a thing, it was magic! paradise found!! Thank you for everything!
