Arrived on a Saturday about 3:30pm. Owner met us at the house and gave us a very thorough walk through and a golf cart ride down to the private beach. In the marketing of the rental the walk time from the house to the beach (described as a brisk 5 minute walk or about a 1 minute drive to the Lake Michigan) while true, can turn into a 15 minute walk with kids in tow! Best if you drive down because the walk UP THE DRIVE when done at the beach will convince you not to walk it again. (lol) This made my wife and I wonder what if the owner made a golf cart as part of the rental option? The house was clean when we arrived as stated. The number of bathrooms (2) at times would not be enough with 8 adults and 2 children...but we made do. The patio and back yard was great although the 'fire pit' is located way in the back corner of the property and would probably would made better use of it if located closer to the back patio area. One last note, if you are traveling with smaller children (we had a 3.5 and 18 month old) you may need to thinks twice about this property. The main floor/living room off the kitchen has stairway leading down to the front door and eventually farther down to the family room and utilities and second bathroom. Let's just say it was challenging keep a 18mth old from falling down the stairs or sliding thru the railings! All in all had a good week Sagatuck is about 30 minutes north and South Haven is about 20 minutes south. Both great downtown areas!
