Cute little cabin

August 26, 2016

Adorable little cabin, very nicely equipped! love the backyard swing, and forest setting. My only wish was that there was air conditioning, it was very hot.

Owner's reply:

Thank you so much for staying with us and for your thoughtful review. We have experienced a warmer than normal Summer in Tahoe as well as other areas. While we'd love to make everything perfect every day, there are so few days in Tahoe that require air conditioning that most homes in Tahoe do not have it. Hopefully next visit will find our weather more typical.

Family friendly Easter Getaway
My husband and I wanted to suprise our young daughters with an Easter getaway. Upon much research we kept coming back to this property and couldn't be more happy we did! The owner was very responsive, answering all my questions very quickly- even recommending a few Easter egg hunts in the area. The home was just that, a home. We felt like we could've lived there forever as it was. Very welcoming, clean and comfortable. My kids (aged 5 & 7) were thrilled to see the games and movies on site perfect for them. Having sleds in the garage was a big bonus! My kids had never seen snow and it snowed on Easter. We had a fab time! Would def go back! Five stars across the board for us.

Memorable weekend
If your thinking about renting from this owner please do so, you wont regret it!! Our family stayed at this wonderful cabin for three days with our children who are teenagers (thank you for the free wifi!) and everyone had a great time. We went to tahoe to get married and did and mary the owner went way above and beyond her call of duty to make our stay amazing, she even had a bottle of champagne on ice ready for us when we arrived, and cider for the kids. We never had to run out and buy anything, everything we needed was there at the cabin ready, including movies and cds for music. The wood burning stove was so so nice and the house was very warm the entire stay, extra blankets, towels, and linen were at our disposal. We had a company of 8 ppl total staying that weekend and everyone was so comfortable and happy. Our family will be staying again quite soon hopefully, it was an amazing weekend that none of us will soon forget. Thanks again for making it special Mary!!!

Great Family Getaway!
We had such a great time. Next time we are bringing our 2 dogs. We can't wait to book again

5 star experience
Incredible stay. Cabin comes with everything needed to have a phenomenal stay. The area is beautiful and we plan on coming back to stay again.

Tahoe Weekend Getaway
VERY clean, a great size and the backyard was perfect for kids and pups to explore. It's in a great location as well, very close to the beaches and restaurants. We would definitely stay here again and will keep it on our list when planning future Tahoe stays.

Wonderful week in Tahoe

We had a wonderful week in Tahoe. Lots of down time at the cabin. Loved that it was close to the bike path and a short walk to Hwy. 50's roadside businesses. Beaches (Pope & Baldwin) are close by. Cabin was very quiet and a great vacation spot.

Comfortable and Relaxing
Great cabin in a quiet neighborhood. Has everything you could possibly need for home away from home. My family enjoyed our week away and didn't want to return home! Want to visit in the winter next time!!!

Great for the family
Our stay at the cabin was great for the whole family, including the dogs. We were close to everything that we needed, but far enough away from the hussle and bussle of the busy Lake Tahoe area. We would love to try it in the winter sometime too!!!

Excellent Cabin, Great Ownership and Quiet Area
I stayed at this rental over the weekend with two of my friends. First off, the management is very responsive and communicates excellently. Great personality and very helpful! The neighborhood this cabin is in is very nice with quiet and friendly neighbors. The cabin is in excellent condition with modern amenities. It's larger than the pictures appear and has a huge backyard which would be good for dogs or a BBQ. We wanted for nothing during our stay. There are several local restaurants and bars within walking distance, I suggest Steamers and the Mediterranean restaurant across the street from it. Stateline is a short cab ride or bike ride from the cabin. We'll definitely be using this cabin next year.

Happy travelers
The cabin was wonderfully furnished and had all the amenities for a comfy cozy romantic time and wonderful family my granddaughter had a blast and so did all of us I would rated 10+ and recommend it to anyone Mary the owner was a sweet kind person and work with us to make sure that everything was great thank you Mary for everything looking forward for next time

Amazing Honeymoon Experience
My husband and I came up to Lake Tahoe for a quiet and peaceful honeymoon and that is exactly what we got at this cabin! The cabin is in a quiet neighborhood but it is not hard to find and it's not far from the main area of South Lake Tahoe so you get the best of both worlds. When we arrived there was a cute bear sign in the entryway that said congratulations and a bottle of wine on the kitchen table (we don't drink but it was a very thoughtful gesture!). The cabin was immaculately clean and there were chocolates on the bed in the master bedroom. The pantry is stocked with basic cooking essentials and there is a washer and dryer in the garage, which is super nice to have on a vacation. Carson City and Reno are not too far away if you want to travel to a bigger city for a day! Mary is an absolute gem! My husband and I forgot the necklace that he bought me for our wedding because it had fallen under the bedside table in the master bedroom, so Mary had her cleaner go over and look for it! She is mailing back the necklace by the end of this week! I would most definitely recommend staying here; you'll have a relaxing stay and be treated to the most wonderful customer service!
My Response
It is always such a pleasure working with our honeymoon guests. We try to go out of the way to make their stay as memorable as possible, and while it's not possible to provide champagne and chocolate for everyone, when we are able we try to go up personally to prepare for their special stay. Thank you both for staying with us, and we hope you'll come back again in the future, maybe for your anniversary!

Awesome Family Time!
We came up to the cabin to spend a few days during Thanksgiving week with our two college-age daughters. The cabin was clean, cozy and homey -- a perfect place to be when the snow started falling! We were prepared to shovel snow, bu the morning after it snowed, someone came and removed the snow from the driveway and around our car! Mary was always quick to respond to all our questions and so easy to work with! We are so thankful for the family time that we were able to have with our girls! We will definitely want to rent this place again.

Cozy South shore home
My family and I rented this property several years ago and had a great experience then so we decided to rent it again over the Thanksgiving weekend. Once again we found it to be a cozy retreat in a quiet neighborhood with many of the amenities we have in our home. The location is a short drive to shops, the grocery store, restaurants and our favorite hiking spots near Fallen Leaf and Lake Tahoe. This property is also within a 15-20 minute drive to the casinos, ski resorts such as Heavenly, Sierra-at-Tahoe and Homewood as well as Adventure Mountain. We are looking forward to our next visit and highly recommend that you consider this option when planning your trip to the area! Tom C.

Responsible pet owner friendly and so very cozy!!!
Last minute decision to search for a cabin for MLK weekend. What are the chances with the fresh snow AND pet friendly? Our 3 dogs are our family as well as our 11 year old so a fenced yard was really important to us. Mary was very timely in her responses and my 100+ questions with regard to the yard. We arrived Friday night to a very, very cozy place that immediately felt like home. The cabin was very well-suited for our family and dogs and I am very grateful for the rules and guidelines for dogs owners. We quickly settled in and to see our babies romp in the snow for the first time was amazing. Our 11 year old spent most of the next day playing outside while we enjoyed football and watching all of them out the window. Driving down the street, both my husband and I said we were so glad we had this cabin because if we didn't we would want it. It is so cute inside and out. We will be back for sure. I am really really hoping anyone coming with dogs will be diligent so the opportunity to keep bringing our babies remains. Not only is this place so appealing in the snow, but with the BBQ, swing and awesome fenced yard it might very well be a destination for us and the family this summer. Don't miss the Burger Lounge just up the road, walking distance. Get the Heavenly Burger! BTW. Uber is now in S. Lake Tahoe. I was able to take Uber to Sierra at Tahoe to meet my husband and son snow boarding for the day. Driver was there within minutes. I kind of hate to give this place such a great review since we don't want it to get so crowded we can't get in :) Thanks Mary and Mike! Too bad we didn't get snowed in for another week or so.

Awesome cabin in South Lake Tahoe!
This is a beautiful cabin with a wooded, fence-enclosed backyard (our dog loved it!) that is centrally located near The Y in South Lake Tahoe. It has three cosy bedrooms, a warm living room with a wood stove, and a fully equipped kitchen (there's nothing here we needed that we couldn't find--coffee grinder, check!; meat thermometer, check!). It was like staying in a friend's house rather than in a vacation rental. We would definitely come back again!

Great cabin, we will return.
Charming quiet bear themed cabin walking distance to a couple fun restaurants. Super dog friendly fenced yard with anything you might forget there for you. HIGHLY recommended, we will definitely be back. Felt like home away from home.

Home was clean, well stocked and very comfortable!

My family had a wonderful time and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your home! The home is an older property, but it was very clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. The location was great as well. We really enjoyed the Welcome much great information! The yard was wonderful for our doggies. Oh....we couldn't believe our eyes on Sunday morning.....we saw a big bear strolling down the street! Thanks for the heads-up about that! I hope we have the chance to rent your home again. Thanks! Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is the backyard fenced and will it contain my dog?
A: While we never guarantee that our fenced backyard will contain your dog because some dogs are just Houdini, we can say that we have had hundreds of families with pets stay at our cabin without complaint. The large yard is fully fenced. Some of the areas have a six foot log fence with gaps, but the perimeter is lined with four feet of wire. We have a large doggy door, and provide treats and other supplies for your pets.
Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A: We collect a security/damage deposit at the time of the reservation. This is returned to the guest after the rental if there are no damages or excessive cleaning required. Payment for the rental is collected two weeks in advance. If we receive a cancellation more than two weeks from the rental, 30 days for holidays, the deposit is returned. If rental payment is received, there are no refunds of the rental amount unless the owner is able to re-market and rent to someone else for the time period of the rental. Other options may be available such as substituting dates in the off-season. Owner is willing to work with guests to the best of our ability while still avoiding hardship for both owner and guests.
Q: What is most important about our location?
A: Our location is nearest the best beaches on the southwest shore, but still convenient to grocery shopping and the City of South Lake Tahoe's business district. We are situated in a quiet neighborhood that is perfect for families. Access to the bike trail is only a couple of blocks away, and eventually winds along the beaches including Pope Beach, Camp Richardson, Tallac Historic Sites, Kiva Beach (dog friendly), Baldwin Beach and the Taylor Creek Visitor Center, nature trail and stream profile. We are also convenient to Fallen Leaf Lake (also dog friendly), and only seven miles from the breathtaking Emerald Bay Overlook, Eagle Falls trails and Desolation Wilderness hiking including Mount Tallac trailhead.
Q: What ski resorts and winter activities are nearby?
A: Heavenly Valley Ski Resort is the nearest, which is about five miles from us. However, our location makes Sierra at Tahoe very convenient since you miss the Highway 50 congestion. There are shuttles for both resorts a half mile from us at the Y.

Cross Country ski enthusiasts can park along Highway 89 (Emerald Bay Road) near Camp Richardson and Kiva Beach and ski inside the closed beaches. There is also great cross-country ski access in the Hope Valley area, just a few miles off Highway 88, about a 20 minute drive from the cabin.

South Lake Tahoe is known for its Christmas and New Year's celebrations, making it a destination place for thousands of people each year. Be sure to book for the holidays well in advance. An Ice Skating area is setup in the Heavenly area each year during the holidays.

Snow shoeing and ski mountaineering are also popular sports in the Tahoe area.
Q: What kind of summer activities are available nearby?
A: As nature enthusiasts, our favorite Summer activity is hiking in the beautiful Sierras. There are all levels of hiking available. From very easy nature and cultural walks at Tallac Historic Sites and the Taylor Creek Nature Center, to light to moderate hikes at Angora Lake, Fallen Leaf Lake, Eagle Falls and Eagle Lake, to more strenuous hikes in Desolation Valley, Carson Pass, Echo Summit, etc.

Boating, kayaking and standup paddling are popular in South Lake Tahoe. There are Ferry rides available that traverse the lake, as well as hot air balloon rides, parasailing and other activities. Horseback riding is available at Camp Richardson, just a few miles away.

And, don't forget the family barbecues in our large backyard equipped with a four burner gas barbecue that delivers the BTU's
