A wonderful large multi-level home right on the ocean's edge with amazing panoramic views.
Drink your morning coffee watching the sunrise on the oceanfront deck. Spend your days exploring sea life among the rocks, watching the seals and seabirds, walking in the woods, or watching the lobster boats out front.
The clear night sky is filled with stars close enough to touch. Fall asleep listening to the water lap at the shore. Antiquing, fine dining, museums, fairs and festivals, hiking and golf are just a sample of many ways to spend the day - if you can tear yourself away!
This house is terrific for large families or multi-generational vacations. Very large living, dining, and sitting areas, porches and decks allow for both group activities and quiet conversations. There is a fully-equipped kitchen with dishwasher and full-sized washer and dryer for your convenience.
The house has two master suites, one on the main level and the other on the second floor. Each master suite is very large with a king-sized bed and private bathroom with shower. There is an additional bathroom on the main level.
On the third floor, over the garage, you'll find an attached but separate suite that we call "the loft" which sleeps five more people. The loft has its own full bathroom with shower, living room with daybed and two more bedrooms. One bedroom has a king sized bed and the other two twins.
NOTE: This house is available without the loft for a discount. I have also listed separately to reduce confusion or you can contact me directly for details.

Our stay at the North Cottage in Sprucehead Me was everything we hoped for and more. We started planning this trip in January with great anticipation and were not disappointed. The cottage was well equipped and spacious. The views from every room were breathtaking especially the great room. The sunrises were outstanding most mornings right from the deck. What a wonderful location for everything we had on our wish list. A great surprise was the Thomaston Café. Excellent food and very friendly owner and waitresses. We will remember this vacation for ever and hope someday to return to the North Cottage. Thanks to the Baines Family for allowing us to share their jewel on the bay. Butch & Betty Young

The location alone is worth a million dollars. If you want R&R then this is the place to be. The views are outstanding, the neighbors are great. Only 10 minutes to Rockland and another 20 to Camden. We all had a great time, and the house was more than big enough. This was worth a 5.5 stars

Just got back from our increadible vacation in Maine. The Spruce Head North Cottage was more than we expected. This property seems to have endless space for sleeping, lounging, eating, etc. Very clean and well decorated. The owners are so pleasant and informative. Sue greeted us a few days after our arrival to give us an overview of the house and area eateries. There were tons of board/card games in the cupboards as well as many puzzles. An abundance of seating areas to relax. We rented the entire cottage (Can be split up into two rentals if needs are much smaller). There were six of us and never felt crowded. I would highly recommend this property and/or this owner to anyone. Well done.

We often rent vacation houses and apartments in the U.S. and in Europe. Usually, the web descriptions take a little "poetic license" so they do not fully live up to expectations. When we booked this house we were prepared for a similar experience because it looked too good to be true. However, the description undersold the place. Described as good for multi-generational families, it was perfect for our family which includes our two sons, their wives and our 27 month old grandson. Lots of space, three sleeping levels allowing each group private bathrooms and privacy in general. The setting was outstanding with spectacular sun rises, lobstermen tending their traps, sailboats cruising the ocean and, at low tides, a perfect beach for our grandson to wade in the cool waters. We were met by one of the owners. She showed us around the house, answered our questions and made us feel like it was our new home. The next day Bob, another of the owners, came by to mow. Bob is a lobsterman who loves to talk and answer questions about the history of the house, lobstering and living in Maine. After about 20 minutes, we felt like we had a new friend. While the house at first seems to be isolated, you quickly meet the neighbors, find that Waterman's Beach Lobster Shack is only a few minutes away and local farm stands, seafood stores and shops are nearby. Follow the recommendations in the thoughtfully prepared binder and you can't go wrong. With out a doubt, this was the best family vacation we have had over the last 10 years. We hope to return sometime in the future. Tom and Nancy Mullan Annapolis, Maryland

The house is a lovely summer home right on the water. It has large comfortable bedrooms and baths, a large living and dining area, and a well-stocked kitchen. It was plenty of room for our party of 8. The dishwasher and washer/dryer were used almost daily. The area was quiet but close to scenic areas and local sites. Some windows in the house need replacing because of build-up between the glass panels, but the views and access to the deck areas was exceptional. The owner was readily available and very responsive to any needs or questions. A lovely and very pleasant vacation spot!!
What a wonderful house! We felt very spoilt having a week vacation in THE best location we have ever been. To say we feel relaxed in an understatement! The view and the location of the house is beyond words, just stunning and beautiful! We are all very sad to be leaving and will be pining for here for a long time to come. A Welsh word, "hiraeth" comes to mind. We will most certainly be back very soon! Thank you!

Thank you so much for sharing your lovely home with us! The view and proximity to the water is the best we've ever experienced in our many years of oceanside rentals!
The house is very comfortable and the essentials were here. I might suggest placemats or tablecloths for the dining area. The plastic tablecloth did not quite make it.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would definitely consider it another time!
