“Southwest harbor getaway”
My wife and I spent a wonderful week here at the Lawrence guest house. Everything was as promised, including a nicely stocked kitchen, very comfortable bed, and extremely good water pressure. Its downtown location was perfect as we were walking distance to restaurants and shops, yet still private enough that we could take in the beautiful seaside view without crowds!
“Great view of Somes Sound”
This cottage was perfect for our stay in SW Harbor. The cottage was comfortable and clean, located w/in walking distance of town and the working harbor. Owner was easy to contact regarding heater concern which was fixed promptly by a technician. Location to Acadia and hiking trails was a bonus. Would consider renting again at next trip to this area.
“Nice place to stay”
There were several things that we liked about the property. The location was nice, since it was within walking distance of the town of Southwest Harbor, and yet was far enough back on a side street to feel somewhat secluded. The view of the water was nice. There were other houses on the property, which we didn't expect, but they were not real close. The house itself was clean and had all the essentials we needed, and then some. We especially appreciated having internet availability and being able to do laundry. Overall, it was a good experience, and represented accurately on the websites.
“Magical waterfront location - great for kids.”
This property is on the glorius Southwest Harbor just .7 miles from downtown Southwest Harbor Main St. It is walking distance to the grocery, bakery and wine shop! There are too many amenities to mention, but by far the cleanest, most well kept camp around! We will be back.
“Idyllic week in coastal Maine cottage”
We have stayed in the cottage twice, once as a couple and recently as part of an 11-member family reunion (we assigned it to the four younger members of the family). It worked very well in both cases. It is located on a spectacular spit of land, stone and sand at the southern end of Somes Sound overlooking the mountains of Acadia National Park. It has a view northward up the sound between the two halves of Mount Desert Island that is astonishingly beautiful even for a island known for its wonderful vistas. The town of Southwest Harbor is friendly and somehow manages to maintain its integrity as a fishing village at the same time that it caters to rent-paying tourists who delight in its restaurants and excellent bike shop. This is coastal Maine at its best.
We were very pleased with the accomodations. The location was ideal and it had everything we needed. Nothing luxurious, but very comfortable. Loved the area. Pleanty to do. The weather was lovely
“Maine at Its Best”
Superb Southwest Harbor location. Classic marine views of nearby islands and Acadia peaks from spacious deck. Beach perfect for cookouts and kids' play - even swimming.
“A View to Die For”
The guest house met all of needs and was quite comfortable. The view at anytime was the icing on the cake (and we had that too.)I will miss the sound and mountains with my morning coffee. Do highly recommend. A must is a visit to Thurstons lobster pound in Bernard.
