Description from owner

This dream vacation house is literally on the water where everyone wants to be! It is by far the best that Lake Spofford could offer! Cooking for the family is a breeze in the full kitchen with stove, refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher and a view of the lake at all times. You can even watch TV or enjoy a conversation with your family or friends. The dining room is spacious with seating for 8 and plenty of windows. The living room features plenty of comfortable seating for the whole family. You can watch TV, read a book or enjoy a conversation with your family or friends. There is a full deck with screened in porch overlooking the lake and the LP barbeque is always ready to prepare a delicious meal. The downstairs bedroom is perfect for people who aren't stair friendly and is steps away from a full bathroom, both handicap friendly. Upstairs there is a kids room with 2 single beds, a master bedroom with a queen bed and an older kids room with 2 double beds featuring a deck overlooking the whole lake. The unit offers DirectTV with plenty of sports ad movie channels, telephone, high speed internet services and a 100 foot dock to tie up your boat. Couple this with 100+ feet of sandy beach, shallow waters so the little ones can have lots of fun, great fishing right off the dock, with sunsets to remember and you won't want to leave and you will be counting the months until you can come back!

If you come in the fall, bring your camera because you will want to take lots of pictures. The colors are stupendous. Sunsets on the water illuminate the whole lake at times you will think there's a giant light shining on the water.

If skiing is what you like, then you can find at least six well-known ski areas from 13 to 45 miles away; try them all and then come back to a warm, quiet, relaxing place for a nice dinner, stupendous winter views and a good night's sleep!

About the area

Spofford Lake is the premier body of water in southern New Hampshire. Lots of activities right on the water, and never really crowded. Clean, enjoyable family fun for all ages. Kids of all ages find so much to do that they forget about all those games they brought with them. The city of Keene is about ten miles away. Lots of shopping, dining, mountain climbing, fairs and entertainment for everyone. And best of all, you can do lots of shopping and save. NH does not have a sales tax on purchases of goods. Bring your golf clubs because the course is about a mile away, not crowded so you don't have to get up at four in the morning to enjoy nine holes before breakfast and you can do it every day, it's not expensive! But it's well maintained. Then pick up the rest of the family and head over to Stuart and Johns for a great breakfast: the best pancakes I have ever had and the syrup is made right there! If you come at the right time you can watch them make it. Then you can buy a jug and take it home. It is that good! If it's apple picking time, plenty of apple farms around to enjoy a day on the farm and the apples are really tasty! What about Pumpkin Fest? Have you ever seen a one thousand pound pumpkin before? People come from all over, it's a blast! Great food, lots of fun! And probably the busiest time of the year is in the winter. Lots of skiers, lots of white snow, ski areas all around. Something for every season. Come and enjoy the scenery, the people, the food, the water, the clean air and you will always want to come back.

“Just what we needed!”

Reviewed 18 Feb 2017

It has been a long time since all of my cousins and our children have had a real chance to bond. This lovely, quaint cabin on Spofford Lake was simply perfection. The large kitchen and open living area were conducive to lots of laughs and good times for all. The home was equipped with all of the modern amenities, but somehow you feel as you've gone back in time and don't need to stare at a screen. We enjoyed the frozen lake, sunrises, sunsets, board games, and even ventured out and spent a day together in Keene. We are already discussing making this a summer/winter getaway every year! Thank you!

Owner's reply: Chelsey, Thank you for a beautiful review. You have a way of bringing out your experiences. I love it!

“Great stay at a beautiful lake house.”

My family and I recently enjoyed a one week stay at the Martinis lake house. The wrap around screened porch and modern kitchen appliances were a bonus. The home was handicapped accessible which helped me out tremendously. Even with a handicap I was able to access the water and the dock. The house was spotless when we arrived with ample beds and linens available. We had an opportunity to meet the Martinis who were very nice. Hope to make this an annual event! We enjoyed being at Spoffard Lake and found the owners very likeable. The lake was wonderful and it was a treat to be so close. The house was very nice especially the porch and the downstairs. Beds were very comfortable. Very clean

“Beautiful home, beautiful lake, beautiful weather!”

Reviewed 5 Jul 2016

This is the second time we have stayed here, the other being 9 years ago. The house has been beautifully remodeled with the first floor now an open floor plan that makes family gatherings so much more special. The handicap accessibility came in handy as one of the family recently broke her foot. All the appliances have been upgraded (though the stove was a bit temperamental), and the first floor shower was a delight. The proximity to the lake is a bonus. I spent hours on the screened in porch reading and watching boaters. The Martini's are wonderful people who care about their rentals and there renters. We will definitely go back, I just hope it is not another 9 years.

Owner's reply: Thank you Jim. We loved having your family. Don't wait so long for your next trip. Tony

“Great Owners, Beautiful Lake, Comfortable Home”

Reviewed 11 Dec 2015

Our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children) stayed for three nights. A few hours before we arrived the well pump broke, so the home had no water. The owners provided plenty of water and ice for us and had the problem fixed before bed. Thank you so much. The downstairs is very nice and the upstairs is comfortable. The lake is beautiful. The kitchen is very functional, we cooked breakfast every day and two dinners. We didn't need to utilize it, but the whole first floor of the home is handicap friendly. There is plenty of room in front of the house to have a catch. Beautiful area. We would rent again.

Owner's reply: Thank you Jessica for sharing your experiences. Tony

“Spofford Lake Home”

This house was everything it was described to be. We were 20 ft from a crystal clear lake. The views were tremendous, and the lake was easy to navigate. House was nice and well kept. we comfortably had 9 adults and a child stay there. The area has plenty of options for activities. Between Keene and Vermont there are many choices for dining and shopping.

Owner's reply: It was a pleasure having you. Please come and stay with us again!

Our family of 12 which included 5 young children enjoyed our week in this wonderful home to the fullest. The downstairs open floor plan was great and we all especially enjoyed the wrap around screened in porch overlooking beautiful Spofford Lake. Tony and Marissa were very welcoming and responsive home owners and we look forward to coming back.

“Favorite Place to stay any time of year”

Have stayed in this charming lake house multiple times and different times of the year. Our family loves the location, only steps from tranquil Spofford Lake.. Lake is perfect for the kids and they love to bring their snow tubes and repurpose them as rafts in the lake. We have kayaked and canoed around the lake and watched spectacular 4th of July fireworks as well. The fantastic screened in porch is perfect for early morning coffee, watching the chipmonks frolic, as well as spectacular sunsets while sipping wine in the evening. The property is modern, with all the amenities such as wiFi and Dish TV, while at the same time having old fashioned charm of simpler days gone by.. Playing cards or board games on a rainy afternoon was just as pleasurable as sunning ourselves on the beach, fishing off the dock and making s'mores at night. The home is a short drive to Keane, if you need a restaurant fix, and there are antique shops and local farms nearby for pick-ur-own berries and fruit. and veggies in the summer and fall. The fall foliage can't be beat and curling up in front of a roaring fire on a chilly day brought our family a closeness we don't take time for at home. Sleep comes easy at night in the fresh air and quiet lapping of the lake against the rocks, and linens and furnishing are pleniful . Just make sure to claim that upstairs bedroom with the deck facing the lake as your own! Tony and Marisa are responsive to any questions or concerns and care that their guests are happy and content. Truly our first choice when taking a trip to New England.
