“The best ranch house in Texas”

Reviewed 26 May 2015

This very large, welcoming home was a fabulous place for our family to meet for the Memorial Day weekend. We were immediately enamoured of the stately stone built home with large bedrooms and living areas. The front porch was a favorite place to hang watching the deer watch us. The kitchen is a great place for people to congregate while cooking - or not cooking. The dining room is large and I have never seen a rental with so many dishes, utensils etc for use. It's great to have private bathrooms upstairs. The weather kept us indoors some of the time but we were happy to play board games and just sit and talk. The house is so comfortable it was delightful just to be there. Our family comes from Laredo, Houston, Austin and Dallas so this place is a great central choice for us but even if it was more out of the way we agreed we wanted to come back again. We were wishing this could be our ancestral home.

“Beautiful family getaway!”

Reviewed 5 Oct 2014

My family came in town for my cousins wedding which was located in Spring Branch. The home was very spacious & accommodating! We felt very much at home. We were able to prepare meals at home rather than eat out. The views were beautiful and we spent lots of time outside. Being from Dallas we were able to slow down & relax and connect with family! Thank you for opening your beautiful home to us & we hope to come back soon for a longer stay!

Owner's reply: Thank you, Laura! So glad you and your family were able to enjoy our ranch house. And yes, it's a great place to slow down from the usual Dallas madness! Please come back when you can - we'd love to have you.

This property was amazing. We rented it for the weekend to take our kids and grandkids to SeaWorld. It was so nice and relaxing. We all stayed together and it was so nice. The kitchen was well equiped with all we needed. My husband and I could have just stayed on the hammock all weekend.. The kids loved watching the deer and exploring the land. Would really love to do it again soon.

Owner's reply: Thank you! So glad you enjoyed your stay. And thank you for leaving things so tidy! Remember our returning guests get a discount, so please join us again.

“Beautiful stately home in the Hill Country”

It was a beautiful property located in the "country" but close enough to city amenities. Enjoyed the animals, especially the deer. Roomy 4 bedroom house with a large kitchen. The views over the nearby land were stunning.

Owner's reply: Thank you, David. Glad you and your family enjoyed your visit... and the animals. Hope to have you stay again. Leann and Dave

“Enjoyed the Ranch”

Reviewed 20 Aug 2013

Our family went to Texas to enjoy our daughters wedding. It was a long trip and we all wanted to stay in the same place. This was the first time I ever rented a house to stay in .I was very afraid of trying this. It was a bit further than I wanted to be from where she lives , but it was worth it. We all had a wonderful time staying at Rebbeca Creek Ranch. The house was very comfy . Loved the oldness of the house, it had the plantation feeling. There were plenty of deer for the men to take pictures of. The scenery around the area was also beautiful for pictures. It was a nice and quite place to stay. I will probably do another house rental in other states.

Owner's reply: So glad you had a good time and it wasn't too far from the wedding. Please come back again... and best wishes to the bride and groom!

“Great place”

Reviewed 12 Apr 2013

Our stay was wonderful. The old house is so comfortable, clean, and well equipped. We found everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. The cabinet, closet, and storage space in this house is unbelievable. The weather was great also - cool enough for a fire in the fireplace but pleasant enough to sit in the sun outdoors. There were 10 of us and we absolutely loved the big dining room and table. There was room for all of us around the big table with room to spare. I guess the only thing that would have made our stay better was for there to have been a queen bed instead of the full bed in one of the downstairs bedrooms. The deer were everywhere and bluebonnets were scarce but we did see some. All in all, we had a wonderful time.

Owner's reply: So glad you had a good time and that we have some Bluebonnets! Come back and see us again -- and remember to ask for your "Friends and Family" discount for returning guests!

“Spring Break 2013”

Reviewed 21 Mar 2013

We were looking for a house that would accommodate 9 people that was in a central hill country location. We found it at this house in Spring Branch. The kids had room to run and play and the adults were able to enjoy the spring weather in the Texas Hill Country. Centrally located close to Fredericksburg, Canyon Lake, New Braunfels, San Antonio, and Austin made for an a great Spring Break vacation filled with things to do. We will definitely rent here again and promote this place to our family and friends. Thank you for a perfect vacation.

What a great house nestled in the hill country. We used the house to surprise my wife on her 40th birthday. Family flew in from out of state and the house allowed all of us to be together for the weekend. It has charming old character and a great landscape. Plenty of room for everyone and the kids were able to roam and explore. TV never even came on! The longhorns on the property next door came right up to the fence for a great photo shoot as if scripted. The owner was very accomodating and the house provided everything needed for the weekend. We loved the home and will look for opportunities to rent it out again!

Owner's reply: So glad you and your family enjoyed your "surprise" stay at Rebecca Creek and Happy Birthday to your wife! Hope you will stay with us again.

I had my birthday weekend here in this house wherein the Cowgirl Sisterhood (which includes women from all over Texas) gathered and had the most amazing weekend of friendship and sisterhood. The house was beautiful and included lots of character. The Hill Country is just amazing with great views. We were most happy with our accomodations. Thank you and we expect to have our group gather here yearly!

Owner's reply: Thank you, Sharon! So glad you and the girls had a good time. Looks like we will finally have a beautiful crop of bluebonnets this year! So join us this Spring if you can. Would love to have you back anytime.

“Spring Branch, Texas Rebecc Creek Ranch”

Reviewed 9 Jan 2012

Our Family of 8 and 2 friends stayed at the old mansion at Rebecca Creek Ranch rather than to choose hotels or motels. We were there for a family wedding and a good time. The guest house was perfect for our friends and although the restroom remodel was not complete at that time, there were plenty of restrooms inside the house for our needs and schedules. It was our first trip to Texas and we wanted to all be together In a home as well as be able to experience the country setting. This property and home exceeded our expectations. We had privacy, beautiful scenery, and more than enough room to stay very comfortably with all the amenities. The views from atop the property were beautiful (even in the drought of that time). The yard was so spacious and the deer that visited were very entertaining. The nearby HEB store was perfect for our needs and we even found feed for the deer. We were delighted to find quality eating establishments nearby. We used the wonderful kitchen as well, for some meals. In the evenings our grandchildren were able to be within 15 feet of the deer as they ate at the feeder in the backyard. We literally sat at on the back porch and watched the deer eat and play. Deer were also seen by the Rebecca Creek and along the roads, a bonus for our young grandchildren. The home itself was so historic and spacious. I regret the bride did not get pictures on the property and especially on the awesome balcony. We found ourselves wishing we had much more time to stay and enjoy. The BBQ is also a bonus and the home was great for a family entertainment , fun and games, and the get together. Our daughter (the bride) lives nearby and we are very hopeful to stay at the Rebecca Creek Ranch on our next visit . We really don't have a desire to stay anywhere else. Thanks to the owner for the great ease of the details and the "Directions" and "Things to Know". We had phone numbers provided in the event we needed anything.......we did not need to call for anything. Thank you, we had a great time and would do it again. Sincerely, Gary and Susan Sitterud Orangeville, Utah
