Description from owner

Debating between the comfort of a hotel and the thrill of more authentic accommodations? You’ll get the best of both with this desirable oceanfront home!

The Lighthouse Lookout sits atop 1.5 private acres located directly on the Atlantic Ocean, offering a lovely Maine oceanfront getaway. Aside from the main house there is a detached “Boathouse” for additional sleeping and recreation, and a 50-foot commercial grade pier and dock.

The main house has 4 bedrooms / 2.5 bath and is approximately 3,800 SQ FT. The boathouse has 2 bedrooms / 1 bath and is approximately 1,500 SQ FT. Bedrooms are lined with windows, offering views of passing lobster boats and schooners, changing tides with breathtaking sunsets. Everything you need for your stay is provided, including a fully equipped kitchen, luxury linens and towels, high-speed Wi-Fi, outdoor furniture and grill, cable, flat screen TV’s with Netflix built in for watching movies. The Lighthouse Lookout is setup to match the laid back relaxing vibe that Maine has to offer.

Rackliff Island is one of Maine’s most desirable Islands that’s car accessible. This house is the perfect home-away-from-home for an east coast vacation or family getaway. The private island combines tranquility and convenience at its finest. If you want to be steps from town but feel like your miles away, Lighthouse Lookout is your perfect vacation destination.

The lookout itself is located on a private road that’s great for walking, biking and jogging.

A boater’s paradise if you have a boat...bring it along! There is a mooring in front of the house which will accommodate a 32-foot boat. Rackliff Island is a Boater’s paradise, with wonderful destinations close by!

Conveniently located in the midcoast you are a day trip away from Acadia National Park or enjoying the history and cultural amenities of nearby towns. If you are planning on staying with us in August, Rockland’s annual Lobster Festival is a must! With great food and live music, it should be on every guests to do list.

To reserve the Lighthouse Lookout simply inquire and you will receive an email shortly after. The lookout is sure to book fast, so don’t delay!

“Authentic Coastal Maine Experience”

Reviewed 9 Jun 2014

Wonderfully comfortable and tranquil cottage with a lovely view. A beautiful natural setting, yet very close to everything. Mornings we spent on the porch listening to the song birds while watching the morning fog lift off the river, very peaceful! The home is on a very quiet road, perfect for morning walks down to the water's edge. The kitchen was well equipped, plenty of pots, pans, dishes, glasses, etc and even had a new grill for cooking out. The home was very clean and the beds were comfortable. Cottage doesn't seem an adequate description, as this home is very large and spacious. The owner's recommendations on where to shop, best places to eat, state parks to visit, best beaches for kids to play at etc were always spot on! Will definitely stay again! Thanks for letting us use your home in Maine, it was a memorable experience!

“Great Home, great owners”

This home is more spectacular than what the website indicates. The boat house is really a condo, with a kitchen, bath and livingroom. Th house itself is really special and we were completely satisfied with our stay!

“A hidden piece of Heaven”

Tranquil, breathtaking and peaceful are just a few words that come to mind. The home and property are beautiful and the views are magnificent. Coming home from a chilly sail on the Penobscot Bay to warm yourself in the hot tub or by the fire...truly sublime. Thank you to the Nolan family who were so very gracious, we didn't want to leave but we will definitely be returning!!

We stayed here for our annual trip with friends. The home owner and his wife were more than accommodating. The Home, The views and the bay were of the highest level. If you are looking for TOP Notch accommodations with beautiful sunsets and scenery I would highly recommend you look at this. We will be up to this property again in the future.
