At street level, there is a garage where you can park your car during your stay. Beyond the garage is an entrance to our private fenced-in terrace. Enjoy complete privacy out here, and bring your meal and bottle of wine down to dine in peace.
On the second level there is an open concept kitchen, dining room and living room. The kitchen is fully equipped with new and appealing cookware and dining ware. There is a coffee maker, toaster and microwave, as well as the usual oven and fridge. All you need to bring is your groceries and you will be ready to make a wonderful meal. The kitchen leads out to a little balcony, with 4 chairs and end tables, and a barbecue. The dining room has a table to seat six. After you come home from walking the streets curl up on the comfortable lazy boy pull out couch, or in a library chair and watch TV or a movie. We also have a poker set, chess and some other board games, as well as various books for your enjoyment.
The house has digital tv, a dvd player and some movies, and it also has wireless Internet access for those who like to bring the laptop along. There is free and unlimited long distance anywhere in North America, so you can save on your cell phone charge. The bedrooms are on the first floor, as well as a bathroom with a shower/bathtub. There is a stacked washer and dryer for your convenience outside the bathroom. The first bedroom and the second bedroom have new beds with luxury mattresses and superior linens. You will be very comfortable as you settle in for the night. Throughout the house is original Newfoundland art, such as paintings, antique hook rugs, and one of a kind model dories (fishing boats) made by Otto P. Kelland.
This house has an ideal location for a tourist, or for a longer term executive renter who wants to be able to walk to work . Many shops, galleries, restaurants and the harbour front are only minutes away. George St., the infamous and historic street lined with bars and pubs is literally a 2-minute walk (We know- we've timed it!). Many parks, museums, and sites are within easy walking distance such as Quidi Vidi Village, the Battery, Signal Hill, the Rooms. Cape Spear- the most Easterly Point in North America is only a ten minute drive away. Whale watching and iceberg tours start from the Harbour front and nearby Bay Bulls (15 minute drive).

I stayed at this property in 2010 and was so pleased with my stay that I booked it again for another stay. This time, I was traveling with my 7 month old and surprised to see that they even have a pack-n-play at the property. The one I arranged to borrow fell through and I was planning on co-sleeping but could not have been happier to see one there! Everything was great, clean and in an awesome location. I plan on booking this property every time I need to visit St. John's.

We really enjoyed our stay at 79 Casey St. A BIG shout out to the owner Karen. Your number one priority is to your customers. You were very accessible via emails and phone calls. You have made our stay at your beautifully decorated, clean house with a lot of character, one we will remember for a long time. The beds were extremely comfortable. Your house is conveniently located within a five minute walk from Mile One and downtown. We would like to thank Karen for the opportunity to rent your beautiful home to us. For someone who wants to be within walking distance of the action, this unit is perfect. Walk to concerts at Mile One center just around the corner. Easy walk to Water and George Streets for pubs, restaurants, shopping. We live in the country, so being right in town was a bit of a shock to our systems. While we were visiting it was actually quite warm in St. John's (over 80F), so we had the windows open and were not used to city noise. The unit itself was well appointed, great kitchen set up, wonderful mattresses. The owner was fabulously responsive to emails during the entire process. I just loved her other rental out in the country (Ochre Pit Cove).

79 Casey Street is a 3 storey 2 bedroom townhouse. The spacious kitchen, dining room and living room are located on the second floor. The two bedrooms and bathroom are located on the third floor. Both bedrooms are large with really comfortable beds and plenty of closet space and storage. There is also a private single car garage. The house is nicely decorated with updated TV and DVD and access to WiFI. The kitchen is well equipped with lots of extras including tea, coffee, jams, condiments, etc. The modern four piece bathroom is well supplied with lovely towels, shampoo, conditioner, body soap and first aid things. The house is very comfortable and clean. Being siutated so close to George Street and Water Street makes it an easy walk. We were there during an unusally hot summer and the front bedroom faces the street. The traffic noise at night.when the windows are open can be disturbing until about midnight. We would highly recommend this accommodation when staying in St. John's.

This gem of an apt has off street parking (a must for anyone who has ever seen downtown St. John's) and all of the comforts of home. The place is large enough for two couples (or a travelling family) with two outside spaces and everything you need to "cook up a right scoff" tucked away in the large open plan kitchen. We were greeted on arrival by a box of local chocolates and immediately settled down for a lovely nap on a super comfy bed. This is well worth the money for a home away from home experience and it is nice to be able to leave the car behind while spending time at the many local restaurants and bars within walking distance. Check out Bacaloa for amazing Newfoundland cooking and wine (we had the Blueberry Shiraz) and Yellow Belly Brewery for delicious micro brews. Best vacation rental we've had!

Just wanted to send a quick note to say how much we enjoyed the stay at 79 Casey street. We will happily recommend it to anyone going that way. The kids walked in and were thrilled - after 8 days of nomadic and communal living, it was fabulous to be able to spread out a bit ... and do laundry. It was absolutely lovely, comfortable and convenient. The trip in general was fantastic (partly b/c of the spectacular weather). St. John's was great. We did try a couple of really good places that I would recommend to your future guests who are tired of deep-fried everything: Rocket Food on Water for lunches (cod cakes are to die for and great soups and salads) and Get Stuffed at 170 (?) Duckworth was super good (Fish stew with a pernod sauce was super). The walk around Signal Hill - beautiful 2-3hr trek. Trip into Quidi Vidi - well worth it. Would like to do the walking tour there. Next time... Bell Island - really good fish and chips at Dick's and the Mine #2 tour was really worth it. The ferry was $12 there and back for the 4 of us (cheap!) Haunted Walk (Sunday) was good fun and worth it. Not only do you hear some good stories, you get to go down lanes and alleys you would never know were there. Loved Newfoundland and still missing it 1 week later.

This property has been newly updated with hardwood floors, new kitchen and lighting throughout. It's clean and very inviting. 3 of us stayed very comfortably and took advantage of the full stocked kitchen and laundry capability. It's minutes from downtown and an easy walk to Sobey's supermarket. HIghly recommended.

One of the best sleeps I have had in a long time. The owners of this house did not hold back on comfy beds or bedding...luxurious. We recently spent some time in St. Johns Newfoundland at the. The two bedroom house is clean, clean, clean, and has everything you need: a patio and bar-b-q, loaded kitchen, Internet, T.V., a small but good selection of games, movies, and books. Travelling with a newborn, it was great to have rooms that were spacious enough to open the portable crib and not have to take it down each night so the 3 year old could run around the house. The location is amazing, and in walking distance (even in a little rain) to good drinks and authentic Newfoundland eats. It is also just a short drive to the Aquarena and the outdoor pool, splash pad and great play structure at Bowring Park. It is also a great start of spot when heading out to Cape Spear. Great was a great stop for a travelling family.

My sister and our boyfriends stayed at Casey st. for our summer vacation in beautiful St.Johns. The home came with everything you needed! Kitchen had all the appliances necessary to cook at home and save on eating out. We were a 2 minute walk from George St. The beds were VERY comfortable, felt like sleeping on a cloud! We could not ask for a better stay :) Thank you so much for everything!!

79 Casey Street stay was absolutely amazing. The cupboards were stocked with every dish and utensil we needed to host pre wedding socials for our daughter's wedding. Furniture was high end, beds and pillows were super comfortable. The decor was spectacular. You will never find a better location. We had 2 vehicles and we were able to park one in garage and the other with street permit parking. I could go on and on. You would be hard pressed to find anything negative regarding this property. The owners are just magnificant to deal with. I would highly recommend this property and would definitely rent it again.
