Description from owner

Blue House on the Bend

Newly renovated historic eyebrow colonial located on an idyllic bend of the Housatonic river comfortably accommodates 5 or 6 people. Built around 1820, the Blue House on the Bend has been updated and outfitted for modern day convenience but retains its charm and unique appeal. Enjoy hypnotic views of the river and wildlife from the comfortable living area, breakfast area, master bedroom or outside terrace area. The open floor plan and lovely views make this historic mill worker house seem much larger than its 1100 sq. ft. The three season sun porch adds more room for relaxing, eating and even sleeping!

Brand new well equipped kitchen with full size appliances will make preparing meals and entertaining easy. Many dining area options available including main room, sun porch and alfresco on the river’s edge.

Downstairs master bedroom with new queen bed and bay window overlooking the river makes for a great night sleep. New downstairs bathroom includes a tiled tub /shower combination. Up a short flight of stairs, two charming bedrooms await, one with a queen and one with a twin size bed. These rooms share a new full size bath with a tiled shower. During warm months the sun porch daybed is also comfortable for sleeping!

Full laundry facilities available in basement; off street parking for two cars.

House is located on a quiet , non through street with only 7 neighboring houses. Adding to the historic Berkshire charm, hopefully you will be treated to the occasional train chugging by. Be sure and wave to the engineer!

“Privacy, comfort and the Housatonic!”

We could not have asked for more with this perfect location and all the attention to detail. 3 comfortable bedrooms and 2 full baths made for a very comfortable stay for 5 people. There is plenty of room to spread out and find a quiet place to read or nap, including the delightful sun porch. Kitchen has all full size, new appliances and is fully equipped for cooking and entertaining. We had 10 people for a gathering with plenty of utensils, glassware and dishes. Very quiet and private. The River is literally in your backyard. Loved the occasional train that chugged by! A true, old-school Berkshires experience.
