Area Information
This is an amazing destination (and our location- Downtown Stockbridge on a private Five acre park on the Housatonic River) to visit not only for the leaf change but for the profound quantity of gifted talent living in the Berkshires and giving back to the community and to mankind in general through the performing and visual arts.

Walk to Red Lion in historic Stockbridge. This quaint picturesque town was named the county seat during the 1700s. You can get lost in the town's rich history by visiting the basement of the local library located in the downtown area. Dress up and visit the Red Lion Inn for a romantic gourmet dinner or dress down and stop by the Lion's Den for nightly live music and pub food. Gift shops, historic buildings, cafe's, and Kripalu (yoga center) are all in Stockbridge.

Comfortably prepare your own food and eat at home or dine out. You can drive (or take the bus) a few miles down route 7 to Great Barrington, a city that is filled with live music venues and famous old venues such as the Mahaiwe Theater. Head north 5 minutes to Tanglewood where you can get lawn tickets for under $30 and bring your own wine and cheese for an evening of the Boston Symphony live. If you love dance, Jacob's Pillow is also a short distance to the south in Becket.

You are also 5 min to Tanglewood (home of the Boston Symphony), & Great Barrington (rated #1 best town in America).

Hiking, skiing, kayaking, and Museums. The Berkshires have it all? Our home is close to Butternut, Bousket, and Jimminy Peak for skiing. Museums including the homes of Edith Wharton, Norman Rockwell, Daniel Chester French, The Guilded Age Mansions, The Clark, and Mass Moca all within a short drive.

Perfect Stockbridge/Berkshires get-away!

October 13, 2015

This was a great property/ location in Stockbridge, MA for 3 couples to meet for a long fall weekend visit to the Berskshires. The house has 3 bedrooms, 2 large full baths, is homey, well equipped & mostly updated. Plenty of space at the dining room table & comfortable living room for all of us. The yard, with its extensive gardens (full of pumpkins, berries & vegetables!) is gorgeous & so peaceful. (So much so that we forgot we were only a 10 minute walk to the Red Lion Inn.) We spent much of our time wandering through the 5 acres & on the large patio in the sun. The owners were thoughtful enough to leave us some delicious treats - jam, pickles, wine - & essentials for our visit. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking meals. We used it for breakfasts & snacks. For our meals, or a change of scenery, we walked into Stockbridge or drove to nearby Lenox (less than 10 min) or any of the other nearby towns. The property's location was convenient & made us feel like residents, rather than just visitors. We would definitely return again!
