Stockton Springs is a small Maine town located just off US Route 1 at the head of Penobscot Bay 11 miles northeast of Belfast and 26 miles south of Bangor. Seacroft Cottage is located a half mile from the head of Stockton Harbor and Cape Jellison, which offers one of Maine's loveliest state parks at Fort Point Lighthouse. The quaint old seaport town of Searsport is four miles to the southwest with the Maine Maritime Museum, a well-stocked market, many antique and curio shops, and a fine bookstore. More extensive shopping opportunities, museums, and galleries are available in nearby Belfast. The colorful seaport town of Camden is about 30 minutes southwest of Stockton Springs on US 1. Peaceful base camp

July 9, 2014

We stayed at Seacroft Cottage from 6/28-7/5/14. The cottage was well-equipped, comfortable, quiet, and peaceful. It was also well-located for our daily excursions to explore the area: we went to multiple historic sites, Acadia National Park, nearby towns, and nearby state parks. The cottage was homey and comfortable; it was clean, well-appointed, and everything was working (better than some hotels!). We very much enjoyed being able to make our own breakfast and eat it on the porch while watching the local wildlife and planning the day. It was also exceptionally nice at the end of the day to come back to the cottage, sit on the porch, have a cold drink, talk through the day's adventures, and enjoy Margaret's garden. Margaret was very helpful, giving us local information and offering to get us any kitchen utensils we might need (if we had decided to do our our lobster boil). Stockton Springs is a small town and the cape is perfect for exercise: running and walking to and/or in the state park. One could also bike or brave the water at nearby Sandy Point beach or at Sears Island recreation area. Our experience was very exactly what we were hoping for.

Great stay, highly recommended

September 28, 2012

We had a wonderful, relaxing week in Margarets cozy, well equipped cottage, which is surrounded by a beautiful garden. The location is ideal to explore Maine and Margaret gave great recommendations, where to go. Margaret was an attentive and respectful host and we felt at home at once. I would definitely stay here again.

wonderfully peaceful

August 20, 2012

My daughter and I arrived late on July 31 st and Margaret got us settled in and off to Just Barb's for a great first nights dinner. She even suggested a few places for us to visit the next day before we were off to the Docklands Lobster Festival to volunteer. The cottage is the perfect place to relax and unwind. You can sit on the porch and drink your coffee or just read a book. We cannot wait to come back again next year. read a book. We cannot wait to return again next year. Thank you

Nice quiet location, away from the tourist crowds.

August 17, 2012

We stayed for here for 2 nights during a week-long visit to the mid-coast area, and Margeret's cottage was perfect for us and our dog. It was clean, quiet, secluded, affordable, and a reasonable driving distance (1 hr) for a day trip to Acadia Nat'l Park.

Amazing 'get-away-from-it-all vacation!

September 1, 2010

My partner and I recently stayed at Seacroft Cottage in Stockton Springs. We were close by to all the areas we wanted to visit, a small convenience store in walking distance for days we wanted to stay close to home. To say we did not want to leave at the end of the week was an understatement!! The hosts were wonderful, kind, accommodating and charming, even sharing their wonderful garden produce with us! The cottage was cozy, clean and incredibly well equipped with even those little things you wouldn't think to bring! We honestly felt like we were in the middle of the woods somewhere, totally private, such is the layout of the property. It was like our own little secluded piece of heaven for a week! We can't wait to return next year!!
