“All the comforts of home with a dynamite view”

Reviewed 16 Sep 2016

My son, granddaughter and I rented this wonderful home during Fiber College Week. It was perfect for us. We even played with our drones on the expansive lawn by the water. I knitted all day under the umbrella on the deck. I particularly liked the composite deck because my granddaughter could crawl all around safely without getting any splinters. The kitchen has all the amenities and the Internet and TV worked very well. We even had the Bangor News delivered to us daily. The neighborhood is quiet and only a mile from the state park and lighthouse. Lisa, the owner, responded to my rental queries quickly and in such a friendly manner. You know that you have had a great relaxing vacation when the place feels like home. Thank you for a wonderful getaway.

The house was beautiful everything as described in pictures. Our families had a wonderful time. Fishing, hiking, stuff for kids to do was easy to locate. Grown ups relaxed on deck at night, beautiful sunset at night. I look forward to renting from The Tripps again.

“Amazing view!!”

This house is the perfect place for a relaxing vacation. We spent our week lounging on the deck mostly. The pictures are a true representation of the house and was the perfect size for our group of four. There are some decent restaurants within a 20 minute drive. I recommend this home to anyone looking to enjoy a spectacular view with their morning coffee and late night wine.

“The perfect choice”

We stayed the first week of August. Lisa was helpful with the details before we even arrived, offering suggestions for kayak rental / delivery. The home overlooked Cape Jellison with incredible views at sunrise. A short walk from the deck brings you to the beach with varying levels of water depending on the tide. My son enjoyed digging for clams as the tide went out. The home was very clean, roomy and the ocean breeze coming in the many windows was relaxing. The home was well appointed with all necessities for a home away from home. The bedrooms were spacious and bathrooms meticulously clean with new linens. I found the washer and dryer helpful as we were able to pack less. The deck and deck furniture were phenomenal and we enjoyed meals overlooking the cape. This was our first trip to Maine and I found the location perfect as it allowed for day trips to Bar Harbor, Acadia, Fort Knox and other seaside points of interest within a 60 minute or less drive, then to return to all of the comforts of home. Located on the Cape, Fort Point State Park is just down the road complete with lighthouse and Sandy Beach - a few miles away - is a prime location to spend the day on the water. We all agreed we had the BEST fried clams at Just Barbs restaurant nearby. I'd recommend you bring sunscreen, bug spray & water shoes. Do some research into the area to narrow down your activities, as there's just so much to do for all types - families, couples or groups of friends. We can't wait to return to Lisa's beautiful home as it was 'the perfect choice' at an affordable price.

“Most peaceful vacation yet!”

This was our 5th time vacationing in Maine and by far, the best. Waking up to the sound of Loons most mornings, and enjoying our meals out on the deck overlooking the bay is magical. This house gives you a taste of what it's like to live on the ocean. The house is clean, and centrally located to many favorite spots in the state. My family absolutely enjoyed every part of this vacation, and having a nice place to come "home" to every night made it that much better. Thank you very much for enhancing our vacation experience! Having kids books, games, and the dolphin tale movie was the icing on the cake. Thanks again!

“Great Place!”

This was a great house. It was very clean and well appointed with matching dinnerware, towels, linens, etc. Beautiful view of the bay/mouth of the Penobscot River from the deck with comfortable patio furniture. Already thinking of booking for next year.

“Quiet retreat”

Reviewed 15 Aug 2014

We loved our stay. The house was well equipped. It was clean, the linens fresh, it has a wonderful deck and beautiful sunrises. We kayaked a number of times and found out, the first time we went out, that you MUST go near high tides , other wise you could get stuck in the mud when you return! We left toward the end of high tide and returned 2 hours later. Not good,.... we could not walk in that mud; fell down (a few times) got covered with mud; lost our footwear, (found it) laughed a lot, and finally made it back to the house in one piece. Thank goodness there is an outside faucet and a washing machine!!! It was a great vacation.

“Close to everything”

What a great place , close to all the sights and small towns that make this area of the world special. Our kids loved clam digging at the end of the garden and everything you needed was there. We'd come again. Thanks

“Pleasant and relaxing”

Hi, Lisa We were very pleased with our stay at your house. Most important to us, was the cleanliness and safety( smoke alarms and secure locks). The view was beautiful, and the privacy was just what we were looking for! Getting to stores and eateries was convenient, and also allowed for pleasant rides along the way!! All and all, it was a pleasant and restful week, and we are looking forward to next year. Keith and Lynda
