Whispering Woods at the Lake of the Ozarks is a vacation retreat offering all the comforts of home. The lakefront property is the perfect spot to gather your friends, family or business associates for relaxation and rejuvenation.

This three-level 4,500-square-foot house can comfortably accommodate 18 to 22 people. With seven bedrooms, an additional bunk room, five bathrooms, two living areas and a game room with pool, ping pong and darts, there is plenty of space to have fun and unwind.

Outdoors, you’ll find an impressive 160 feet of lakefront and a 3-well dock with swim platform. Enjoy perfect views of the main channel from the dock or one of the three decks that surround the home on each level. Drop a fishing line in the water, or start a game of washers on the large lakefront lawn.

In the evening, the oversized hot tub is a great place to relax after a long day on the lake. At night, you’ll have a great view of the Tan-Tar-A fireworks display held at Hawk Island.

The property is located in a quiet cove near the 26-mile marker of the Lake of the Ozarks in Sunrise Beach, MO. Drive time to grocery stores is only about 10 minutes, and Camdenton and Osage Beach are both just a 20-minute drive away.

About the area

Located at the 26 mile marker of the Osage Arm of the Lake of the Ozarks, the Whispering Woods vacation home provides a spectacular view across the main channel while still providing cove protection making use of the huge 3 well dock with swim platform. By land the home is located in Sunrise Beach off of Lake Rd. F-12S. Directly across the main channel is the location of Tan-Tar-A's fireworks display. Sit on any one of the home's 3 lakefront decks and enjoy Memorial Day, Labor Day, or 4th of July fireworks. The Lake of the Ozarks was built on May 30, 1931, and was the largest man-made lake in the world at that time. The lake originated from the construction of Bagnell Dam, which began on August 6, 1929 (four months before the stock market crash of 1929). Fortunately for Missourians, the Bagnell Dam project would bring growth and expansion to the area during the midst of the Great Depression. When completed, Bagnell Dam would create a lake that covers 57,000 acres and features 1375 miles of cove-indentured shoreline. Today, this shoreline is dotted with beautiful homes, hotels, resorts, restaurants, and shops. Many of the Lake's visitors are watersports fans. To accommodate these visitors, numerous marinas offer boats for rent. Boating fanatics can find every type of watercraft imaginable at the Lake including houseboats, ski boats, sail boats, bass boats, speed boats and wave runners. The Lake features several quiet coves that are great for a cool afternoon swim, sunbathing, or a few quick casts for bass, crappie, or catfish. If more action is on your mind, the main channel is a great place for skiing, tubing, or wakeboarding. When it's time to head back to shore, the fun doesn't have to end! The communities surrounding the lake feature a variety of activities to suit every interest. Whether you're a kid or a kid-at-heart, you'll revel in the variety of amusement parks, miniature golf courses, go-carts and horseback riding trails that the region has to offer. Also check out the helicopter and sea plane rides, local caves, shops, and festivals, or take a tour of Bagnell Dam. The Lake area is quickly becoming the Midwest's primary golf destination, and features over 180 holes of championship golf. From beginner to pro, the variety of courses at the Lake will challenge every player, amidst the serene backdrop of the Ozark Mountains. Vacationers love a good meal, and the Lake area will not disappoint! Whether you're looking for a casual lunch or a candlelit bluff top meal, the Lake has the dining experience for you. While the Ozarks specialize in BBQ and fish, you can easily find cultural fare, including Italian, Mexican, Chinese, and Japanese. For a quick meal, grab a burger, a catfish basket, or a BBQ pork sandwich. Top it all off with some homemade fudge or a banana split at one of the many ice cream parlors. Dinner can range from a perfectly grilled steak to lobster to pasta. Keep in mind that the Lake of the Ozarks isn't just a summer destination. The Ozark Mountains are famous for their fall foliage, which is a beautiful sight from the calmer waters of the Lake. The milder autumn temperatures are excellent for a round of golf, or a hike through the woods. Winter features soft snowfall, cozy evenings by the fire, and candlelit dinners with a view of the still Lake waters. The area's numerous shops, including the 110-store Factory Outlet Village, are the perfect source for all your holiday shopping needs. Relax from a busy day of shopping with a massage or cuddle up by the fire with a good book.

We rented Whispering Woods for a blended family Thanksgiving, the space was perfect for our families. ( 18 people) Everyone had their fair share of room and felt comfortable. We did bring plastic cutlery and dinner ware to cut down on the dish washing, which was helpful. They had dishes but not sure it would have been enough for people who were constantly eating. However, it was Thanksgiving. It was a short drive to the outlet mall which was great for shopping. The price was excellent and will consider renting again for large groups. We currently have a second home at the lake but, it wasn't big enough to accommodate our large group. We couldn't find a wine opener but the next door neighbor was very gracios and let us borrow theirs for our stay. Very family friendly home. The pool table and ping pong table were a hit.I Did ask that they include some board games and perhaps playing cards for extra entertainment. Defiantly has my seal of approval.

Owner's reply: Thanks Stephanie! I greatly appreciate the kind words. The kitchen is being fully restocked in the offseason and I have specifically ordered three wine openers as well as a library of board games for your next stay! We would love to have you back to try out the selection. Thanks again! -Jarad

“Fantastic Family Getaway”

We came back to the Whispering Woods property for a family reunion. The house is on a small quiet cove and has a great boat dock for swimming and hanging out. Our families had a fantastic vacation and highly recommend the property. James the property manager has always been helpful and friendly.

“Family reunion”

Reviewed 26 Jul 2016

We met at Whispering Woods for a family reunion with 4 generations from 4 states. We had a great time! The house was spacious and provided ample space for our large crowd. We loved the outdoor decks, dock, and easy access to the lake. It was a hot week but the family spent most of the time in the lake or on the lower level in the air conditioning. The kitchen and 3 refrigerators were helpful for the group. We had some problems with item not being there and plumbing and electrical issues but James was so responsive and had issues resolved either the day of or next day. He was great! We loved the house so much we are talking about returning in a couple years for our next family trip.

“Great Memorial Day Weekend”

Reviewed 30 May 2016

We came down to the lake with 20 of us to celebrate Memorial Dy. Jim was very easy to work with and very responsive with any and all questions. He even gave us options for boat rentals with drivers. He allowed us to show up early on Friday morning and leave a little later on Monday. House now has hard wood floors on all main floors and it looks really nice. The dock was great to swim off of and hang out on all day. The decks were perfect for getting everyone together to eat dinner and enjoy the views of the water. On Sunday there was a firework show across the cove and we had a great view for that. Overall the house was everything we wanted and more. Will absolutely be returning.

“Perfect Space”

Reviewed 22 Mar 2016

We rented the house for a guys weekend to celebrate one of my friends getting married and to watch games and hang out during March madness. The rental was perfect and I'd highly recommend. It's very spacious, clean, in a great location and the setup with the large living area, kitchen, and game area was perfect. Would definitely rent again!

“Big Group of peeps”

this is a great house for a lot of people. it has plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. it was well stocked with everything that was needed both in the kitchen and bathrooms. the beds were comfortable. Great location as well. The kitchen and hang out area is on the bottom floor, so if your bedroom is on the top floor there are 2 floors of steps, think about the stairs for sleeping arrangements. Overall a great place to stay, I would recommend it and would stay there again.

The home was amazing! Even better that the pictures. We had everything we could need or want! The view of the lake was awesome. There was more than enough space for our large group. Two of us brought our boats and the large dock was more than perfect! Can not wait to go back.

“Great Getaway”

Reviewed 27 Nov 2012

Our family had a wonderful time this Thanksgiving week. We enjoyed the waterfront view from the latge windows. Big open dining/living areas (on both levels). The two kitchens helped alot when cooking a large meal as we did. It was also close to many parks and trails which we like to do. We enjoyed lounging on the boat dock, since swimming was quite cold at this time of year. The kids went in the water anyway. It was fun watch they getting out as fast as they got in the water. There cleaning crew evidently did a fast job, they missed a few areas and some of the pots/pans needed scrubbed. Not saying that they did poorly, were just saying that they need to do a more thorough job. It was great, the atmosphere, the rooms, game rooms, hot tub, and fire pit. They all made it a wonderful time. Thanks

“Awsome Lake House In the Woods”

Reviewed 5 Jun 2012

The house is a really great place to get together with a large group of friends or family. It has everything that you need to have a wonderful time. I would definitely rent again for a large get together. The only thing that I can say negative about the house is it is like 30 min. From osage beach, so there wasn't Abby stores or walmart close by. That made it a hassle. Of you are not coming in town for those purposes the house is a great outdoor escape.

“My Parents 50th Anniversary”

Reviewed 27 Nov 2011

Our entire family of 17 very much enjoyed out two night stay at this home in the Ozarks celebrating our parents 50th anniversary. The house was plenty big enough and had everything we needed/wanted. Jim was very patient with my Dad in having special requests. He answered calls and helped him getting in and help with the satelite. He was available and super. There were a few minor maintenance issues - lights not working etc that were not life ordeath, but a minor nuisance - just made it hard to see to wash dishes. One sliding door had no lock, but we secured ourselves inside with a broom handle. The neighborhood was quiet and we enjoyed walks in the beautiful setting of this house. We discussed wanting to return and repeat our very pleasant experience. This was our first vacation home rental and hope it's not our last!! It very easily would house the 22 people that the description said. If you're thinking about booking this house, I would do so with confidence!
