Aloha & Welcome to our Sunset Beach Backyards Bungalow:)

If you are looking for paradise look no more! Beachfront backyard bungalow is located on Sunset Beach in the heart of the world famous North Shore on a private sand beach that stretches miles in both directions. One of the most desirable beaches in the world, as seen on Travel Channel's top 10 Beaches numerous times.

The home will sleep 6 comfortably. It has 2 bedrooms. The master a queen bed with cable TV and the other bedroom with 2 twin beds and cable TV. Also a double pullout sleeper sofa in living area. We also have floor mattresses if needed. One full bath and one half bath, fully equipped kitchen, Living room has a new 51' flatscreen TV with a dvd player for movie nights. Has a covered deck/lanai with Gas BBQ and washer/dryer. Plenty of seating.

Home is perfect for those looking for a relaxing, exciting, perfect vacation. Tucked back in a quiet neighborhood off the bike path. Whether you are looking to catch a wave, hang in the hammock with a book, snorkel/scuba dive the gorgeous reefs, grill out your fresh catch, bask in the sun, North Shore has whatever a perfect vacation entails to you! World class surf break "Backyards" directly in the back yard of house with "Sunset" "Rocky Point" and "Pipeline" in view from the property and steps away! The beach in front of the house is absolutely breathtaking and hardly used as there is no public access to it close to the home! The water is crystal clear and the snorkeling is great.

The North Shore is the quite part of Oahu but is only minutes from great food, shopping and fantastic sites. The house is less than ten minutes from the historic town of Haleiwa, which is the main town on the North Shore of Oahu. It has lots of restaurants, shopping, a marina (in case you would like to go deep sea fishing), and live entertainment nightly in some of the restaurants. The Turtle Bay Resort is about five miles away from the house in the other direction, and they feature two championship golf courses, horseback riding, lots of amazing restaurants, and several bars. Ted's Bakery is walking distance from the homes with some of the best food on this side of the island. There are always exciting surf competitions to watch during the winter months such as the Triple Crown(Pipeline Masters which is the super bowl of surfing) and the much anticipated Eddie Aikau Invitational.

There is a great Supermarket "Food Land" about a half mile from the house, which also has a Starbucks coffee shop. All the Island activities, from scuba diving, to jet-skis are all just minutes away from this tropical retreat. Scuba diving is also a major attraction on the North Shore with both boat and shore dives available. Waimea Falls is only a mile away, and hiking at Waimea Valley and visiting the falls is an unforgettable experience. Watch the sunset 365 days of the year!

This is a shared property with two other separate homes.

“Exceeded my expectations”

Reviewed 8 Aug 2014

I was expecting a modest beach house with not a lot to offer inside, but wanted to stay there anyways for its location and backyard (right in front of the beach, nice hammock, private patio, private upstairs deck, and almost private gazebo). I was very surprised by the interior. It was spacious and had design details that made it feel special. Not a luxury resort but very comfy and convenient. The only downside is that there is a unit right next to and behind the house, so it's not as private as you'd hope for, but we rarely saw our neighbors. There was only 2 of us staying there, with 2 friends that hung out at times, but the house could easily accommodate a lot more. We had house A, which included a parking spot, but the people in the apartment unit took up our space so we had asked if they could shift their car over a bit so we could both park. Not a big deal. Wished we could have used the bikes and had a longer stay there. Next time. If you have multiple families going or a large group, I would suggest trying to rent out all the units on the lot. It would be perfect. The beach right outside is a little rocky for swimming, but if you walk to the left, there's a really nice swimming/snorkeling beach. Sharks cove and the area where the turtles sunbathe are definitely biking distance, walking is possible but might be too much in the sun. I'd definitely come back and stay longer. The owner, property manager, and her son are all very nice and helpful. You'd probably never see them unless you physical go to the managers house to ask for something. There are cameras outside, but I think that's just in case someone tried to throw a crazy party. The view is amazing from the gazebo, especially the sunset. Outdoor shower and foot rinser came in super handy. I would probably buy your own set of snorkel gear , but they also had body boards and great beach chairs. BBQ and grill accessories were great. Also, I wished we had a chance to use the outdoor fire pit.

“Very little lacking here..”

I want to start by thanking the owners of this house for allowing us the opportunity to stay in their home. They were very cordial and professional about the rental process. 5 stars for their efforts so far. We are still awaiting our deposit but have been assured it is on its way and I have no reservations that it is. The house was close to perfect for us. It is not a large home but the pictures on the website do not mislead in any way. It is a well kept, clean, and quaint little place with everything we needed for out visit. We had never been to Hawaii or the North Shore imparticurally before this trip and were a little shocked at first with the country feel of the area. Not a lot of restaurants, shopping, or the crowds that come with such an environment. After a couple of days you really start to appreciate that though. We did make several trips to the Honlulu / Waikiki area during our visit and while I can appreciate that also, I found returning to the quiet, peaceful house a lot like going home. It is about a one hour drive from the house to Waikiki. There are several nice places to visit on the North Shore area with our favorite being Haleiwa. Good food, jet skiing, shopping, and great atmosphere there and it is only about 10 - 15 mins. away. If there was any draw back to the house and it's location it would be the beach in front of the house. It isn't a sandy beach that the family can go out to and frolic around on. Jagged, sharp rocks at the waters edge with a drop off into deeper water just beyond that. I'm not complaining though, this is just something that I felt was the only downfall to the property. On the upside, there is the back porch, or Lanai, with the most beautiful sunsets that are like something from a postcard. Also the sounds of the waves and the clearest, bluest water we seen on our trip. If beaches are your thing, we spent quite a bit of time on one that is a five minute car ride away. It is called Waimea Bay and it offers white sand, plenty of sun, a 25 foot cliff to jump from, bathrooms, and showers. A beautiful place that we made many memories at. To sum up this house I would say this. If the pictures look appealing you will not be let down. Let me add this too real quick. Air conditioning in both bedrooms and the living room too. Our visit was in late July and that A/C sure was appreciated. Thanks again ladies....Well done!

We spent a few days at this property and it was great. Very calm sorrounding, truly ocean front. An amazing experience at the north shore of Oahu. The place was clean and well equipped. If you want to try to live a few days as a local, this is a good opportunity.
