Description of the Suwannee vacation apartment rental
Newly renovated, ground level apartment right on a canal in beautiful, quiet and safe, Suwannee, Florida. Fish from the back deck or bring your boat ... as there is a motorized boat lift at your back door. Use the kayaks provided to follow the canals out to the historic Suwannee River. You'll be glad that there is a "fish cleaning" station on the property as you will have easy access to both fresh water and salt water fishing. Nature Coast is known for it's abundant scallops that you can catch yourself (in season) and for tasty blue crabs. Cook your catch at the unit or visit the Salt Creek Restaurant, less than a mile from your door, where they will prepare your catch just the way you like it. Take a drive back in time and enjoy the beautiful scenes along the Dixie Mainline Road ending up in Horseshoe Beach where you can buy your shrimp fresh off the boat. Or just relax on the back deck and observe the gorgeous sunsets as the sun sets over the marsh which is the only thing that lies between you and the Gulf of Mexico. See visitdixie or hiddencoastflorida for additional information about the area.

Please note, there are two amazing natural springs within a 45 minute drive (Manatee Springs State Park and Fanning Springs State Park) but there is no swimming in the actual community of Suwannee.

Because the property is directly on the water, this rental is NOT suitable for unsupervised children

Area Information
Suwannee, Florida, is a small secluded community, forgotten by developers, built around man-made canals that overlook the Gulf of Mexico where it meets the historic Suwannee River.

Some of the best fishing in the state with your choice of fishing the gulf, salt and fresh water creeks and man-made canals. Natural beauty, wildlife viewing, birding, scalloping, are only some of the activities you will enjoy.

Here you will also find some of the best kayaking and canoeing in the world. The small community is in Dixie County which has been designated by the Florida Paddling Trails Association as a Blueway County. While our coast, doesn't have the white sand beaches most tourists associate with Florida, we have a unique shoreline with shallow near-shore waters, many rivers, and endless creeks. State and federal lands protect much of the region.
