“GREAT PLACE TO STAY IN SYDNEY!”
This apartment is perfect if you're staying in Sydney. Three BR, 2.5 bath easily sleeps 6 and has a larger balcony with spectacular view of the harbour and bridge. We never closed the curtains in the main living area. Clean and well kept; the only drawback is that water from the showers collects on the tile bathroom floors, so additional towels are needed to get that up. Located on the 10th floor of the Astral Tower Apartments within The Star Hotel/Casino in the Pyrmont/Darling Harbour area, it's within walking distance to the metrorail, ferries, shopping, etc. and there's a Coles grocery store just across the street so you can easily stock the kitchen for your stay. We would DEFINITELY stay here again when in Sydney. Great for families, just watch the kiddies at the balcony. NOTE: They're doing some construction at the casino on the harbour side where we were, so were two huge cranes in view. Whatever they're working on right now wasn't noisy, and the cranes didn't obstruct our view at all. I wish I could post a photo of our view, but a photo wouldn't do it justice, anyway! HOTEL CASINO NOTE: The casino has age restrictions for entry - no one under 18, so no worries about your kiddos wandering up there. Sound from events being held in the courtyard below the balcony can be heard from the main living area, so you may want to check to see what activities are going on during your stay. This wasn't a problem during our stay, but worth mentioning.
We were so pleased with the location of this apartment! The train was only one block away, with restaurants, night life and beautiful Darling Harbour in walking distance! The two bedroom apartment met all our family's needs. And the view from the roof pool at night was spectacular. We were very pleased with this rental.
“More than adequate”
2 bedroom apartment for 4 adults.....single beds in 2nd bedroom (queen would have been nice, as we were there 5 nights). Very comfortable.....nice TV, good cooking facilities and lounge area. A tad noisy at night, as on a main road, but bus stop to the city right across the street, so a real bonus. Friendly, helpful manager.....would definitely stay there again!
“Great location and views”
Overall we were very pleased with the apartment. Very well located and great views. Apartment well equipped. Needed new carpet and painting and owner advised this was being done on our departure. Overall a good experience
Location to parks, shopping ,places of interest ,and bus stops is perfect. Coles and Woolworth grocery nearby. Reception staff very helpful. A/C works well; very little traffic noise. Kitchen small but adequate (note that there is NOT an oven).
“Great place to stay!”
This place worked out perfectly for our family of five. There were 2 queen size beds and a pull out sofa. Very roomy, clean and serviced once during our 7 day stay. The location was close to transportation to all our tourist destinations. It was also walking distance from several attractions. The staff was warm and friendly and complimentary cappuccino and toast or cereal was available every morning to start our day. Our studio also had a kitchen with utensils and cookware provided as well as a small refrigerator if we chose to cook in our room. Our stay was delightful, comfortable and very affordable. We will definitely return to this place. I returned home feeling thoroughly refreshed and happy.
“Great Sydney value & location”
Good location for business travel in this part of Sydney. Very close to Sydney central railway station, UTS, Broadway etc. The apartment had limited reception service which closed at 2000 pm but fully furnished and equipped ,very clean,with good internet service. It had full kitchen,internal laundry , free parking and free light breakfast daily. Very good value for Sydney accommodation
While the location was great the condo had a bare minimum of furnishings - also very drab, no color what-so-ever. The back balcony opens into a building "window well" and is unusable (also very noisy, air conditioning etc). The front balcony is tiny and faces an office building. The place has potential but at this point is very sterile. I personally would not rent it again.
“Hyde Park Inn - Service Apartments”
We had a nice 2 bedroom apartment. Very spacious and comfortable. Much better than staying in a hotel room. It had a great view of Hyde Park. Great ammenties. The price was very reasonable. 9 nights for about $950 US Dollars. Very convenient to restaurants which were just around the block. Bus service was just a few steps from the front door. Easy access to Circular Quay and buses to Bondi and beyond. The subway station was also conveniently located across the way in the park (Museum station) which was also a quick way to get from and to the airport. Location is conveniently located to access all parts of the city. I highly recommend staying here.
“Great stay in Sydney - May 2009”
Can't get much better than vacationing in Sydney! Accomodations served its purpose but not much more... Here are some pros and cons of the Sydney Apartment on Pitt St. Pro: good price, great location (close to transportation, food and water), apartment was clean & had a couch for everyone to sit on (5)! Con: apartment was old & worn looking, cooking equipment (fry pans) need an upgrade to 'non-stick'!, water pressure was so low taking a show wasn't fun & more like a 'rinse', gym equipment (weight machines) were super old/benches were completely destroyed.
