Description of the Tacoma vacation condo rental
Unmatched natural beauty, with convenience, security, and excellent amenities.
This is a secluded and secure first-class condominium unit with 2 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms located on high bluff above Puget Sound, with unrivaled unobstructed views overlooking the Sound, Tacoma Narrows, Tacoma Narrows Bridge, and the Olympic Mountains.
It is wheelchair accessible via ramp to the first level (Master bedroom). 4 steps down to the lower part of condominium unit.
This location is unique for those coming for the U.S. Open because -- NO NARROWS BRIDGE TRAFFIC, NO DOWNTOWN TACOMA TRAFFIC, NO UNIVERSITY PLACE TRAFFIC, AND NO GIG HARBOR TRAFFIC to deal with.
You can avoid Highway 16 traffic entirely. Use your commute-saving time to relax on the covered private patio, or by using the clubhouse amenities -- as opposed to being stuck in traffic.
There is a 24/7 security guard in the shack at the Gold Creek Condominium entrance.
During the Open, parking lots in University Place and Lakewood will be jammed, and intersections there with traffic lights and stop signs will be backed up. When you want to go somewhere before or after the Open, avoid that congestion by staying at my condo unit.
Convenience facts: It is a 40 minute drive to SeaTac Airport at low traffic times. (Buses also are available to/from Tacoma Dome and SeaTac Airport)
There are multiple great dining options and craft breweries in the greater Tacoma area.
Tacoma's Ruston Way is nearby, and it has many fine restaurant options (Lobster Shop, Duke's, Shenanigan's, RAM, Katie Downs) within 3.5 miles / 10 minute drive.
Try the quaint Narrows Brewery close to Narrows Bridge, which is located on the water with a gorgeous view of Puget Sound (4.7 miles / 13 minute drive from condo).
Anthony's Restaurant on Commencement Bay, with superb seafood, is a 1 mile drive / 3 minutes away.
Chambers Bay Golf Course (U.S. Open) is 6.9 miles away. Access for spectators is via bus at designated locations.
There is an excellent zoo and aquarium at Pt. Defiance near the condo (2.7 miles / 7 minute drive).
The world-class Chihuly Museum of Glass is 6.2 miles / 14 minute drive.
The world-class "LeMay - America's Car Museum" is 7.7 miles / 17 minute drive.
Tacoma Art Museum -- new Haub western art wing (6.4 miles / 14 minutes).
Seattle's Safeco Field - Home of the Mariners (38 miles / 60 minute drive typically).
Mt. Rainier National Park SW entrance is a 1.5 hour drive away!
Par 3 Highland Golf Course 1.3 miles away, and there is a driving range across the Narrows Bridge 6.3 miles away.
You can drive to quaint Gig Harbor in 12 minutes without traffic (However, it will be very congested there during the U.S. Open, and expect significant waiting times for the limited eating options in the own / near the water. Parking in Gig Harbor will likely be a challenge. Instead, just stay in Tacoma and go to the Ruston Way or downtown Tacoma restaurant options.
Tacoma General Hospital is 4.5 miles / 12 minute drive from the condo.
There is no smoking within the condo unit. However, smoking is allowed on the condo unit's private patio.
The lease must be approved by the condo association. The price per day during the Open is competitively priced with comparable lodging. You can come as early as June 1 and depart as late as June 30. Make a grand, memorable vacation out of it!
A security deposit and rudimentary background check is required. The security / damage deposit of $500 and non-refundable $400 animal fee (for cleaning if you bring animals) must be paid by certified check before you take possession of the premises.
I will respond to all email inquiries within 24 hours (the same day if possible). Phone me if questions about the lease. I will provide a copy upon request
