Description from owner

Staying at Lewiswood Retreat will give you the opportunity to get away from the crowds and enjoy our quiet country setting. It is large enough for 6 people and has a large dining room and space outside to enjoy grilling or having a fire in the firepit with wood provided. Lots of space outside. Hopefully, you will see the white tail deer that are our neighbors. If you have time to do some sightseeing, Wakulla Springs which has one of the world's largest spring is just a short drive of about 10 minutes as is St. Marks Wildlife Refuge which is known for a large variety of birds. It is listed as one of the 50 best places in the world to go birding. The Tallahassee to St. Marks Bike Trail is minutes away as is Natural Bridge which was the site of the Civil War Battle. Escape the cold and come stay with us in sunny Florida for the Winter. If you stay with us, we will give you a list of lots of the activities to do in our area. Hope to have you visit us.

Beds: 2 Double Beds, 2 Twin Beds

The Seminoles have won two national championships (1993 and 1999) and finished in the top five of the AP Poll for 14 straight years from 1987 through 2000. The team plays their home games at Bobby Bowden Field at Doak Campbell Stadium, which has a seating capacity of 82,300, making it the largest football stadium in the ACC and the largest continuous brick structure in the United States.

“Comfortable stay”

Reviewed 14 Nov 2016

My family enjoyed our stay at Lewiswood. Carolyn was very accommodating as we weren't able to arrive until late into the evening. We found everything as described. The property is just enough out of town that you are away from the crowd but still close enough to access everything. We enjoyed a cool evening on the porch as the weather this time of year is pleasant. Would highly recommend the stay.

“FSU Football Weekend”

Reviewed 31 Oct 2016

Myself and 5 FSU alumni spent the weekend at the retreat for the FSU/Clemson game. Was a great spot to be outside throwing the football and relaxing. Wish we had more time to experience all that was offered, but we would definitely stay again. About a $30 taxi into Doak Campbell stadium for the game. Carolyn was sweet and the house had all the amenities that we needed.

“Haven ater a long drive!”

Delightful lodging. Very picturesque, cozy and comfortable. Over the river and through the woods with updated amenities. Microwave, coffee maker, screened in back porch, wi-fi, etc,,, would love to visit this sweet 3 bedroom, 2 bath cottage anytime. Plenty of room to spread out, but found ourselves enjoying each other's company congragating in the open family spaces. Thank you Carolyn and Floyd. We felt like family!

“Country Comfort”

Reviewed 10 Mar 2016

Lovely home! I have traveled all over the US and I will surely return to this retreat. Carolyn and Floyd are wonderful hosts. She has decorated this home with lovely antiques and it was immaculate upon arrival. It is a place you feel like you are "home." It has every amenity you could ask for: cable, internet, dvd player and a kitchen stocked with everything you need for a family dinner. I came in November for Thanksgiving and am not leaving until April! That tells you how comfortable a place it is. The setting is in the country surrounded by flowers and trees. It has a lovely screened in back porch and a sweet front porch with a ceiling fan. Woodville is just down the road for any necessities you may need and my favorite seafood restaurant, Seinyards. A perfect spot for those that want the country not far from a city. Best of both worlds. A lovely place that I highly recommend and hope to return soon! Thank you Carolyn and Floyd for your gracious hospitality.
