The Pacific's waves crash less than two blocks from Balcones del Pacifico #6, and Tamarindo's Playa Flamingo is a drive away. Stroll down to some of Costa Rica's best eating, like Patagonia a 100 meters away, or rent a surfboard at Iguana Surf Shop nearby to ride the area's legendary surf. Don't miss the chance to watch leatherback sea turtles hatch at Las Baulas National Marine Park, a little over 10 miles north.

Getting here

Buses run through town connecting with nearby towns and the country`s two major airports, and there are shuttle services that provide direct, air-conditioned trips to most major destinations within the country. Tamarindo also boasts a small airport, with two airlines offering multiple daily flights across Costa Rica. Car rental companies are numerous, but it`s recommended to book in advance during high season.
