Area Information
The sweeping view overlooks a pasture where coyotes, red-tail hawks, and the occasional eagle can be seen and heard. Living in Taos is about becoming one with the big sky and the rhythms of nature. Why rush?

Enjoy the seven-tenths of a mile walk into Arroyo Seco for a latte and egg sando at the Taos Cow, a breakfast burrito at Abe's Place, or a Cubano sandwich at the Maverick Café, then pick up a few groceries at Sol Food, the local health food store. For dinner try Sabroso's delicious bar food, often accompanied by piano music, or its gourmet restaurant. Go a little farther down the road towards the town of Taos to The Old Blinking Light for great Mexican food and burgers or to Pizzanos for Italian food and pizza. There is no better location or house!

Skiing, white-water rafting, hiking, biking - all are minutes from your doorstep. Head into Taos for shopping, museums, and gallery hopping. See the Taos Pueblo. Travel to surrounding areas to explore Abiquiu, home to Georgia O'Keefe, Santa Fe with its galleries and shops, and try driving the high road between Santa Fe and Taos for gorgeous views, the Chimayo Sanctuary, and art galleries and stores.

You will love the decor and comfortableness of this house. The big picture windows allow you to see the outdoors while enjoying the comfort of being inside. The large patio is also a nice place to sit and visit with friends while looking at the mountains. For those who want to ski, the house is a short drive to the resort. Shopping and sightseeing in Taos is an easy drive as well. I really enjoyed being "out" in the countryside, but close enough to get where we wanted to go with ease. The house is furnished with everything you need. The temperature in the house was comfortable, and we never felt cold even while being there in February. This is a place I would enjoy coming back to again!

Our stay at Sangoma was brilliant! The house is southwest chic and more. It is a wonderful blend of east meets west that creates an air of peacefulness and stirs the creative instincts. Wonderful beamed ceilings, perfect lighting, luxurious bathrooms and hi-tech everything. Best of all are the Tibetan prayer flags that surround the property and the delightful wind chimes. AND, the views are incomparable. You will not want to leave.

I highly recommend this home. It was beautiful and relaxing. It was also perfectly decorated, stocked with everything you would need and close to Taos and the ski resort. What an amazing place.

Sangoma is quite possibly the perfect retreat house. The views are spectacular, the property is quiet, the interior is beautifully furnished with numerous remembrances of Tara's international travel, the kitchen is perfectly appointed. The master bed/bath is awesome and my favorite room is perhaps the dining room. We ate every meal there to candlight. Wind chimes ringing, birds on the feeder, even a black lab who visited us throughout the days all made for a super relaxing and special get-a-way.
