Reviews for this vacation home rental in Tarpon Springs, Florida
February 21, 2015
We sent a $500 deposit on this home for the months of January and February, 2015. When we arrived on New Year's Day, we were stunned by the poor condition of the home. The smell of mold permeated the house, carpets were buckled and threadbare, lanai furniture was rusted, the toilet seats were chipped and disgusting, and the garage was packed with furniture that made it difficult to even use the washer and dryer. It was unacceptable. Even though it was New Year's Day and we had no place to stay, we couldn't remain there. Tried calling the owner several times with no luck, so we finally left the key where we found it, sent an email to him stating why we could not stay and asked for our deposit back. Later that night he emailed me, acknowledged the smell of mold (which he blamed on the outside mulch), said they replaced the toilet seat after we left, and stated that the rusty furniture was due to Florida's climate. He said they were not wealthy people and if we wanted to rent the Hilton on the beach we should have done so. Our two-month getaway was ruined and he has not returned our $500 deposit. To make matters worse, the owner is a realtor in the area: Future Home Realty in New Port Richey according to his email information. He has completely violated any code of ethics of his realtors' association and we feel sorry for anyone who does any real estate transaction with him. If you are looking for a rental with mold and in a state of disrepair, this is the place. I would have given it zero stars, but the website wouldn't allow it.

Karen and I stayed for 2 months, Feb & Mar. 2014. Home is a little dated but owners are upgrading it continually. Lots of space, super Lanai with beautiful view of river, saw our neighbour catch a 4' Tarpon right of his dock. Neighbourhood is peaceful and close to shopping etc. About 40 min. to Tampa Casino. Owners are gracious hosts offering wonderful boat rides which were very much appreciated and enjoyed. Our pet cat insisted that we book it for three months next year.

We loved it Closed to beaches, shopping and fishing Great landlords and the house was very comfortable with two main areas so if you go with two families you have some space kids met friends in the neighbourhood, we loved tarpon springs and the old town area

Home was comfortable and functional, although the decor was a bit dated. Owners live a few houses away and are available and willing to address any problems or situations immediately.
Great water view, enjoyed the home, quiet neighborhood, a great getaway at a great price. Lots to do in the area.
