Description from manager
The Bridal Veil House stands out with its perfect combination of modern design and Telluride folklore. Fully remodeled in 2014, this five bedroom/four and a half bath won the best of Art & Architecture award the same year. Originally built in 1890 and past home of the Munchiando family, immigrants from Italy whose daughter hosted her wedding within this beautiful home, the current structure keeps this history alive with the impressive detailing that pays homage to its past charm.
Upon entering the home, guests will notice the rope detailing that perfectly matches the molding throughout the open living and dining rooms. The entire main floor consists of hardwood oak floors, pristine white walls and impressive furnishings. The main level plays host to the living room, the kitchen and the dining room. A large oak dining table with seating for up to six is lit by two Simon Pierce hand blown glass chandeliers.
The kitchen’s expansive granite countertops and custom made white wood cabinets sit below the high vaulted ceilings, exposed antique wood beams and skylights. The large island is made from the home’s original floor joists and boasts a breakfast bar for three! If the British farmhouse sink, stainless steal appliances, six burner gas stove, drip coffee maker and wine cooler don’t impress, the custom made wallpaper made from an 1896 photo of the past homestead and the beginnings of Telluride will amaze! There is a back door off the kitchen which opens to a small yard with Weber grill and a historic boarding house.
Near the back door is a sitting nook with armchairs and an adjustable coffee table. A mudroom can be utilized in the back corner with ample hooks and bench seating.
The living room is furnished with a plush sectional couch, two leather chairs and two additional iron and leather stools, all centered around a modern chamcha tree slice coffee table with acrylic leg detailing. Guests will find a fireplace set in stone and unfinished wood with flat screen TV above.
On this floor there is also a well positioned powder room with porcelain pedestal sink and British influenced white bead board and English Bird wallpaper. The first guest bedroom has hardwood oak floors, queen bed and an en suite bathroom with skylight, quartz countertops and glass shower.
Guests will find two additional guest rooms and the master suite on the top level, all fully carpeted with queen beds, vaulted ceilings and exposed unfinished wood beams complimented by the flawless white walls. The master boasts a beautiful view of the dramatic Ajax peak and has an en suite bathroom equipped with white stone tiling, quartz countertops, heated towel racks and a steam glass shower.
The final queen guest rooms both have picture windows, mountain views and skylights. The shared private bathroom is between the two guest bedrooms and has oversized skylight, quartz countertops, glass shower with waterfall shower head and heated towel racks.
The stairway wraps down to the lowest level of the home, where guests will immediately enter into the game room with cubbies stocked full of puzzles, blocks and board games as well as a card table for adults and a small kids' table – perfect for game night. The downstairs sitting room shares this open space and is separated by a pocket door and has a flat screen TV, plush couch and two velvet chairs.
A fully carpeted bunk room is also found on the lower level, with two captain bunks (full beds on bottom and twins on top) each with reading lights and outlets. A crib can be placed between. The neighboring bathroom has an oversized trough sink, a matching clawfoot tub/shower combo and heated towel rack. Neighboring this bathroom is a laundry room with full size washer/dryer and utility sink.
This home has the perfect location just a block from Main Street in downtown Telluride and a five minute walk to the Gondola!
Additional amenities include: 1 fireplace, 2850 square footage, 5 + tv's, carbon monoxide detector, chef upon request, fire extinguisher, game room, laundry, minimum age limit for renters, nanny upon request, non smoking only, not necessary, pets considered, private home property type, smoke detectors, steam shower, united states country
