About Crystal Beach

Crystal Beach spans seven miles of gorgeous beach and sparkling Gulf Coast waters along the Bolivar Peninsula in Texas. The area is renowned for its fishing, birding and natural beauty that vacationers can enjoy year-round. With its small-town feel, Crystal Beach vacation rentals are the best option to experience all of the charm this sleepy beach community has to offer.

Climate

Crystal Beach has an ideal climate for Gulf Coast getaways. The area sees very warm summers with temperatures frequently reaching up toward 90 degrees F. Gulf breezes keep beachgoers comfortable along the water. Winters are mild with dry weather and temperatures sinking into the 40s.

Things to Do

Though the atmosphere is laid-back and quiet in Crystal Beach, don’t be fooled into thinking there is little to do in this town. The area provides the allure of a quiet community that focuses on the beauty of nature. Drop a line off the North Jetty and watch boats pass into Galveston Bay as you wait for a fish to take your bait. Overhead you’ll see an abundance of birds including egrets, herons, and rare roseate spoonbills. Hike the trails at nearby Anahuac National Wildlife Refuge, or simply plant yourself at one of the pristine beaches.

Visit the Point Bolivar Lighthouse at the end of the peninsula. First erected in 1872 and easily viewed upon entering the city, the lighthouse has withstood centuries of storms tumultuous winds, and hurricanes. It remains a beacon of the serenity associated with the Bolivar Peninsula and is a majestic symbol of the local history.

The Ranch is a great spot to spend a day golfing. It is a Par 36, nine-hole course that is open every day from dawn to dusk. Here, you can bring your own cooler, so fill it up with beverages of your choice and head out for a fun round of golf.

Food

The Gulf of Mexico supplies Texas with luscious seafood, which appears on most menus. At Stinagree Restaurant & Marina, devour fresh seafood platters and their famous Boscos barbequed crabs. They’ll even cook up your own catch for you to enjoy while watching a breathtaking sunset over Galveston Bay. Try frog legs at Hardheads, or enjoy live entertainment and casual fare at Tiki Beach Bar and Grill. Texas is also known for its barbecue, so make a stop at The Smoking Pig for some of the best, slow-cooked, smoky BBQ in the area.
